Right?! That's what I dislike in translations so much. If I could chose a superpower it would be to understand every language in the world. Now, how long would it take though to learn Chinese?

Lol yes it's finished and there are two completed translations. One from Ari and one from corgi. I read the one from corgi bc Ari's been blocked(?) from chapter 10 0r 20 upwards, I think bc of editing, I'm not sure.
Besides, corgis tl has some flaws, like sometimes the names of the characters are confused or so, but you still can figure out, who is talking, thinking, doing stuff rn. I still like it very much, especially corgis comments xD And I like the trigger warnings. I don't spoiler anything when I say, that Zong ZiHeng and Zong ZiXiao are not blood related brothers, even if they thought so - this fact is clarified in the early beginning, I think in chapter two or three already.
Non the less I have to say, I'm the same as corgi, there should still be a incest trigger warning, bc as you read through the later flashbacks it's obvious, that ZZX had already a romantic kind of love for his big brother even before he knew they were not blood related, while ZZH never stopped seeing him as his little didi. Not everyone is comfortable reading something like this, so be warned. To me, it makes ZZH's suffering just so much more painful. He definitely falls into the same category with WWX, SQ, XL, MR, CWN, CWN etc of characters, that deserve the best yet get the worst in life T_T

Oh, so probably will meet Yiling Laozu today XD This part was in the novel pretty much the same as in the drama, but in the donghua it was totally changed. I think, in the LA the atmosphere was all bit creepy and sinister, while the donghua goes with epicness lol

I hope the same! Although there would still be ways to watch it, I rather pay and watch on legal websites, than go on not so legal ones. But I don't think, they will take it down, at least not on international platforms. MDZS has a huge global fandom, I'm pretty sure Tencent would do anything to keep this up.

Okay, I totally and 100000% agree with that! These novels are. Hitting. The. Heart. Like, fr, I never ever cried bc of fictional characters as much before! I'm so in awe with Chinese writers and their talent to deliver EMOTIONS! Not just some suspense and a lil angst here and a lil tragic romance there, but EMOTIONS. And yes, it has to be written in capital lol

Me too, cultivation novels are so addictive! Historical ones as well, though. I'm only reading one at the moment, wich is not in a historical kind of setting but modern. I feel you, I know this dilemma so well! To me, I started 2ha after TGCF so, I can't recommend that to you lol. SPL is great! I only put it on hold, bc I wanted to finish it close to when the drama airs. You totally should read it! Yu Wu I will start after finishing Such Jim, so I can't say anything about it, same with the other two, although I heard Golden Stage had similarities with SPL. If you want to try WuChang Jie next, it has Ghost in it as well as a Ghost King, so maybe you want try this next, but it's totally different than TGCF and sometimes really depressing and a tearjerker.

On the other hand, when I read the Synopsis of some regular cultivation novels, they pretty much sound the same - doesn't mean, they are indeed similar. But I'm sticking to novels with high rating so, there are many, which have lower ratings, so ig not all of them are so great. But honestly, imho Asians write the best stuff, also with Manga and Anime. They have ideas, where as of no Western author would even think about. Instead we have the good old stuff like Vampires, Werewolves, Faes, Witches, Aliens, Dragons etc. There may be thousands of new ways to portrait them and create something totally fresh, but it's not as unique.

I guess it's all about the pacing. And no, WN is fine, he is shy and an introvert, that's all. The arc, where WY and LZ went searching for the Yin iron in the drama does not exist in the novel, in fact the Yin Iron doesn't exist at all in the novel lol. The same with the backstory of the statue, they did not visit and seal her in the past. with that, the manhua is the closest to the original story.

what also made me almost tear up was the scene in the dream in the lake arc, when CWN's feed got burned, because he rescued MR, but MR was too ignorant to realise it was Shizun T_T

Although s3 is not there yet, I'm pretty sure the siblings are involved, bc that was indeed the same as in the novel. If I'm right, the core revealing scene will be in episode 10. What is different in the drama also from the novel, that in the scene, after WWX, LWJ and WN rescue the juniors and the sects in the burial mound, WWX and LWJ are not alone at fighting against the undead. Ig it was to difficult to film it like it was in the novel, so I'm really curious if the donghua team will change it as well or leave it like in the novel - if it's the letter, I'm pretty sure I will cry
