If "creepy makeup guy" is Wong Yeok, I think he will return because the actor is listed as "support role" - usually…
Not an expert, but as I understand it, they were able to save the SOUL of the female Chinese counter and I'm not sure what happened to the original evil spirit or the original human. But "support" role usually means we will see the actor again.
Yesterday (August 6), I posted that Yoo In Soo is now portraying his FOURTH iconic character. Gwinam (hyprid zombie in AOURD); Park Dang-gu (social butterfly magician in AoS); Bam-sik (petty thief in "Good/Bad Mom") and now country-bumpkin, innocent Na Jeon Bong in Uncanny Counter 2.
Happy to say - no, I am THRILLED - that Netflix agrees with me. Hard to believe that Yoo In soo is only 25 years old (and he filmed AOURD and AoS when he was only 22/23). I cannot wait to watch him in the future.
Ep 40 – WhiplashSo everything is OK now, and we’re all happy, happy, happy. OK, whatever. I won’t beat the…
In addition, TK was a junior in highschool when InOk married Father Gong , 16-17 years old at the time. And he is now 35 years old. That's at least 18 years ago.
The easy answer is really shitty writing continuity. If viewers are catching these mistakes, it tells me that they are deliberately rewriting history/canon (which was well presented in Episodes 1-20), perhaps for some significant reason (like Strawberry or JH family history).
Oh, i get/know that. Koreans don't do PDA's it is very frowned upon socially. But i was talking about the moments…
I've mentioned this before - in the promotional video taken with the four main characters (15-20 minutes long iirc), BJH and AJH looked into the camera, talked to the camera and smiled into the camera but there was almost zero connection - they didn't look at or smile at the other. They didn't laugh at each other's "jokes" - maybe there weren't any jokes because the standard Korean symbol for laughter (ㅋㅋㅋ) didn't appear much (or not at all?? I can't recall). Very professional and dry. I thought perhaps it was because AJH joined the drama very late in the schedule.
Meanwhile, CJH and JEJ were also professional - but they frequently looked at each other as to confirm their answers and several moments of laughter between them as they teased each other.
This was a comeback for both BJH and AJH (who have been doing "main" roles for several years) while CJH and JEJ are relative newcomers to larger roles - perhaps they just want to play it safe for some reason. But honestly - they didn't look comfortable with each other.
Try again because there a plenty of reviews here already
Sigh - not on my screen. With other dramas, two reviews will appear in that box and when you click on that function/box, it will load all the other reviews as well. I even checked how it appears on my phone - still nothing.
Maybe MDL hates me (although my reviews show up on other dramas instantly). I'll send a trouble report to MDL and see if they can straighten it out.
BTW, in the list of 16 reviews, does mine show up?
am i the only one that get bored in the middle of the drama? rn I'm stuck at eps 10 and considering to drop the…
Haha, after pausing for a few weeks, i returned to this and just finished Episode 10 with the same thought. Apparently the Thailand Visitors Bureau invested enough (my speculation) to make this a 16 episode drama because there definitely is not enough story or character development for 16 episodes.
Thank goodness for Uncanny Counter 2 for Saturday/sunday watching.
I just remembered this!Between ep 16 to 20 something where SooJung and her hubby went to see the shaman and OYD…
There are MANY different hints, clues, statements, etc. that were sprinkled throughout the first 20 or so episodes - I have a gut feeling that many of them will never be mentioned again. History was re-written when a now 35 year old TK was supposedly a junior in high school 16 years ago (age 19!). Bad writing.
Are reviews blocked on TRHC? I tried to post a review last week but apparently not allowed? It was based upon my Five Book analysis that I posted several weeks ago and looks like it is indeed a FIVE book drama. From several weeks ago:
“Book #1 - the set-up and first Major Cliffhanger at Ep 8 (YD crashes the wedding) Book #2 - a family gradually forms and Major Cliffhanger at Ep. 20 - TK tells YTD he "likes her" Book #3 - Romance. Major Cliffhanger at Ep. 30 - 1st medical trauma (YD)
MY SPECULATON (at the time): “Book #4 - all dragons are slayed, life is good but old, forgotten mysteries begin to appear and Major Cliffhanger at ep 40 (I'm guessing Baby Real medical trauma, but it might be sudden appearance of ??????)”
Current: I was WRONG about Book 4 as the writers sent us off on a major detour in Ep. 31(?) with one year time skip. However, as of Episode 40– most dragons ARE slayed and life is good. Dreadful writing, but based on ratings, Korean viewers are still watching. I mean really – Crazy InOk is instantly redeemed? Awful, Awful writing.
Episode 40 ending (based on what I saw on Twitter) – Granny Evil and her Two Grandsons. Not really the BIG cliffhanger – Maybe the Book 4 BIG cliffhanger will be at end of 41 or 42?
MY SPECULATION (several weeks ago) – “Book #5 - clean up on Aisle 9 as all problems are resolved, all secrets are revealed, and every major character gradually finds happiness. “
Not so fast – still anticipate either a medical crisis with Baby Real or the “sudden appearance of ???????” or both. Two remaining mysteries: Who is Strawberry and Who is Joon-ha related to??? One remaining secret (SJ/JH affair). Clean up delayed until near the end.
Ratings aren’t in freefall but neither are they trending up.
I’m watching Uncanny Counter 2 primarily for one reason: the young actor Yoo In Soo. And today, that man delivered – going from innocent, newbie “cocky” Counter (who didn’t understand what he was undertaking); returning home because he doesn’t believe in himself (but demonstrating his devotion to his father and damn, I was teary-eyed in those scenes!); and finally, back to brave/self-sacrificing hero mode – protecting both the village head and his father, even though he no longer had his counter power.
In the last 18 months, In-soo has played 3 iconic characters – each one so unique that viewers didn’t realize it was the same actor: zombie-hybrid Gwinam (AOURD); social butterfly magician Park Dang-gu (AoS); and petty thief Bang Sam-Sik (Good Bad Mom). We are at the beginning of another iconic In-soo character as he develops from awkward, country-bumpkin to amazingly athletic Na Jeok Bong (if they follow the trajectory of the webtoon).
And though he’s great at comedy, I hope they balance it out with many more heart-warming scenes with the Noodle Family.
So bleached eyebrow aint coming back? I liked him :/
i think Wong Yeok will return in some capacity - the actor is listed as "support" cast and he was in some of the promotional videos. Although the Chinese woman's soul was extracted, there is still an evil spirit lurking around, if I understand evil-spirit-canon correctly?
Yes. The Season 2 villains and overall story are separate - no connection between the two seasons.
If you want to understand the characters and what happened in Season 1, I suggest you go to the Wikipedia page and then decide if you want to spend 20-+ hours watching Season 1 before watching Season 2.
I have a lot of respect for y’all keeping up with this. 👍🏻👍🏻
To the extent I'm following the show, it is primarily comments here on MDL and FF thru about 75% of the scenes. Finally got caught up w/Ep. 38 two days ago.
It's garbage - but I still want to find out which family Joon Ha is related to, so I torture myself. 🤣🤣🤣
I can't tell who is worst between in ok and jang se jin, they have lost their mind and behave like a child.
We have some idea of why Jang Se Jin thinks/acts like she does (was once a sweet and loving child/teen until Granny Evil forced her to give up TK. Plus years after that of the Gong family treating her badly/verbal abuse.)
But there is no explanation for In Ok's transformation which means: BAD WRITING. If someone complete transforms, then at least give the viewer some hints as to why it is happening.

Maybe he was lying, but that would be a rotten "twist" by the writers to mis-lead the viewer on such a significant fact.
