what happened to the military storyline though from end of season 2? was that just completely scrapped or coming…
Maybe I'm wrong, but my recollection is that scene was somewhere in the future (1 year?). Need to go back and watch I guess, but if so, explains why there needs to be intervening events that take place during that year. I read that the military episodes are the final episodes in Season 3 - but also might be wrong.
The cinematography/cgi in Ep. 3 was amazing. Perhaps it was there in Seasons 1 and 2 (which I binge watched) but most of what I remember from them is dingy jail cells and dark rooms/corridors.
Opening scene with Do-gi and Go-eun was charming. These characters were broken souls in Season 1, emerged from those dark spaces and began to live in Season 2 and are now ready to thrive. Maybe together or not, doesn't matter - their individual journey/growth is the best part of the drama.
The 2nd couple has a history/back-story to be explored. Which is very different from the Main Couple that is new/fresh…
Well, re: the 2nd couple, that was my point. Drama after drama, the 2nd couple rarely gets the screen time required to fully develop their story. Yeah, 2ML is likely the father and I'm fine with that predictable plot.
Prepare for Cra-zy. Ratings were high in Korea, but Korans appreciate Cra-zy. Lawyer was my favorite character but then the only reason I even started this was because of Seo Hyeon Woo, so I'm biased.
I hope that the characters who were only briefly mentioned in the last episode of the second season will continue…
I read somewhere (so may mean nothing) that the scene with Moon Chae Won will be featured in Episodes 13-16 (possibly the last episodes for Taxi Driver series).
literally just watching this to invest myself into Seo Ji Hye's and Kim Ji Hoon's characthers lolthey're so much…
The 2nd couple has a history/back-story to be explored. Which is very different from the Main Couple that is new/fresh dynamic. I'm invested in both because in a rom-com, both will be happy in the end. But it also means that the 2nd couple doesn't get near as much attention as the Main and the artificial triangle with "special appearance" Oh Yeon Seo (Kwon Se Na) is dismal. For me, that is.
Honestly, I've kept this drama on hold because it was getting too unpleasant for me. Is she still, or I should…
Well, I'm enjoying it. It's very slow-burn romance along the lines of "You've Got Mail" movie, but in 16 episodes, it's VERY slow-burn. Which is good, because if they did the pivotal, traditional "first kiss" at end of half mark/Ep. 8, we would be dreading the inevitable Ep. 11/12 break-up.
If Kim mi Kyung is in it... drama should be good. Lol
She's great, but doesn't guarantee that the drama is great. I've put it on watchlist because of Park Seo Jun, but have learned that his presence doesn't mean I will enjoy it.
NO honestly I thought she would get the best scripts after AOS. I dont know whats happening
Since AoS, she's done two dramas and one movie - all of them highly successful rom-coms. Most kdrama actresses can do the rom-com roles for only so long (mid-30s) until directors/producers determine they are "too old" for the genre. At that point, her choices will be melodramas, thrillers, legal procedurals, etc.
Alchemy of Souls was once in a decade opportunity for everyone involved.
They might have only been watching Korean movies and series for the past three years, not even counting the 2022…
They definitely have NOT watched her as Mu Deok/Nak Su in "Alchemy of Souls". Switching effortlessly between the two personas and neither one remotely like a rom-com FL.
The Character Chart for this drama is wild and confusing, so I created a Character Description for the main and secondary characters. It's posted in the "Recent Discussions" page.
One thing that stands out - there are ALOT of missing fathers. πππ
Next week. I noticed it in the intro but never saw it until preview for next episode
Yes, I know it's finale week. Will try to catch up, but Thanksgiving, family. We'll see. Love the history and how Korea survived and became an economic miracle as a result of the IMF crisis, but lost the "must watch" desire during Thailand episodes.

Thanks for the prompt reply. π I believe the little robot appeared on a shelf in an earlier episode(s?). it's definitely been in the intro along with the boots and helmet, and my comment at one time was that the computer nerd would FINALLY have a purpose (because so many viewers wondered why he got any screen time).
From the beginning, every single character has a distinct personality and a purpose in this drama, which is one reason I really enjoyed it. I'll try to catch up this week .
[ I stopped watching a few episodes back (busy/travel/busy), relying on recaps and fully intending on catching up when I have time. While searching for something else on tvN, I came across the trailer for Ep. 15]
Question: In the Ep. 15 preview, there is a little robot figure. Has that figure already shown up in prior episodes (other than sitting on a shelf in early episodes)? The reason I ask is that back around Ep. 5 (when Typhoon Trading was branching out to helmets), I predicted that the little robot figure in the intro would be a major success story for Typhoon Trading because interactive robot toys such as Furby (USA) and Tamagotchi (Japan) became huge (every child had to have one) in 1998.
If the answer is "yes", then I'll quicky skim through this past weekend's episodes to catch it. Thanks in advance.
My answer is: Yes, you can watch and enjoy Season 3 without Seasons 1 and 2.
I came to Taxi Driver late and watched Season 2 first. It was easy to understand the over-arching story/plot and the script occasionally referred to some of the back story of Season 1. The one confusing part was a character named Lim Bok Ja (played by Shim So Young) who RE-appeared in Season 2. I didn't understand the jokes until I watched Season 1 but it didn't detract from the main characters or the plot.

Can anyone tell me estimated time (KST) for release on Viki??
(Kwon Se Na) is dismal. For me, that is.
