Actually there is a secret that TM does not want TH to know. So, he forbid TH from seeing his father who was in…
Yeah, yeah, yeah - not very bright except that he was always tops in school and Taesan Group has had super growth financially since he returned from prison, but yeah not bright.😂😂😂
TM is stupid just like HS is stupid - devoted to mothers who don't deserve it.
Actually there is a secret that TM does not want TH to know. So, he forbid TH from seeing his father who was in…
i'm glad you added the "tbf'. 😊
It's obvious to me TM is cutting all ties to HS in order to protect her (from both his mother and Soo kyung). If HS is under a sole source contract which was clearly handled in an extraordinarily unprofessional manner (no auditions, no agency representation, much older model w/no experience, etc. etc.), then it will be HS that will suffer if the facts become public. Big brother understands that but HS continues to be naive about the situation. Did I miss something where HS thinks she can date a client and all will be okay??
Actually there is a secret that TM does not want TH to know. So, he forbid TH from seeing his father who was in…
Mom obviously lied to TM regarding the accident - we already know from her past conversations with Yeom that she was somehow involved and that the dash cam would somehow show that.
But then - I believe Yeom is working behind the scenes to support Grandmother.
Okay saw the raw and I found 24 quite discordant and off but 25 was so much much better. Worthy of a halfway thru…
lol, but many things have been moving forward in the last few episodes but since you only watch TH/HS, you miss a lot. 😂😂😂
But you are correct - Episode 25 laid down several markers. The scene I've been waiting for (Hyo Jun helping Mi Rim) was my terrific and it was easy to understand w/out subs. 😊
Episode 24: When I am able to do so, I watch the unsubbed version first on Kocowa before the sub version is released. I try to understand the words, but more frequently it's the facial expressions and voice tone that communicates my understanding. I'm beginning to understand some of the standard phrases.
But today. . . I TOTALLY missed what was going on in the phone conversation between Number One Awfulest Mother of the Year (HS Mom) and her conversation with Hyo Jun. I THOUGHT she was talking about Hyo Shim (and possibly Tae Ho), but no. . . . . she tried to compare Hyo Jun to Ga-on.
I hate her. More than Evil Mother, I hate this garbage POS mother. Even more upsetting - she is destined to have some sort of "happy ending' w/family surrounding her? I hope it's on her deathbed! I could handle a redemption arc for Evil Mother before this horrible woman. Did i mention that I. Hate. Her?
Interesting article - LYOL apparently changed the scene in Ep. 24 (Saturday 12/16/tomorrow) between Witch Lady #1(TM mom) and Hyo Shim.
"Earlier, in the trailer for the 24th episode of 'Filial Piety'.Jang Sook-hyang asked, "How much time will it take for my son to buy a young lady so that when my son is tired and tired, he can go to the young lady and take a rest?". In the revised trailer, the line was changed to "How much does it cost, young lady?" According to media reports, the line will also be deleted from episode 4 of "Filial Piety," which will be aired on the 16th."
Writer-nim better get her act together - Evil mothers are standard fare (albeit tiresome/tedious) in kdramas but talking in term of 'buying' a person's body was beyond the pale. IMO.
how is him saying "love yourself more and be less considerate of others/focus on yourself more (instead of others)…
Busy, busy days for me so my reply will be quick.
I see "sulky' and you see "cranky". Lol, we both agree as to why he acted that way, but it was childish imo.
it's a 50 episode drama and I worry about what will happen if they become a "couple" soon - after all, she is forbidden from dating a client, correct? According to the synopsis, TH is the "catalyst" for HS 'going over the edge" - that sounds more ominous than promising.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction regarding the 'family' discussion - i'll check out those scenes when I have time.
how is him saying "love yourself more and be less considerate of others/focus on yourself more (instead of others)…
You won't hear me ever defending or even trying to understand that evil witch of a mother. But please don't put words in my mouth - I did not say that he was 'belittling her concern for her mother', lol.
The scene that made my blood boil (which, really doesn't happen very often because, after all, they are fictional characters) was when they were in the bamboo shop and she was trying to purchase the baskets For Her Mother and he was sulky that she was taking the time to do something For Her Mother (and/or failing to pay attention to him). And then he tried to get her attention on himself by demanding she look at the purse. Finally, he puts one on his head ("look at ME!). I guess that's what I meant by 'trivializing' her feelings for her mother which are complex, not simple.
Did I miss a scene where Tae ho talks to HS about his family? I usually speed through most of the scenes involving HS but I read someplace that they talked to each other about their families.
🎉Ratings continue to inch up – Saturday and Sunday (episodes 22/23) were 2nd highest episodes. (The highest rating continues to be episode No. 2 on Sept. 17th).
Episodes 25/26 are the mid-point. If writer-nim doesn’t throw some major plot twists/reversals in the next two weekends to keep the audience through the holidays (both Christmas Day and New Year’s Day are holidays in Korea), then this show is going to sink beneath it’s own weight of story quicksand.
However, there are strong hints/teasers that some pretty major twists/events are coming: (1) Hyo- Shim “escapes” from her family and “goes over the edge” thanks to Tae Ho; (2) Ga-on’s unknown mother shows up; (3) Tae Ho challenging Tae Min for top spot at Taesan Group (especially now that Chairman is incapacitated); (4) Hyo-do somehow teaming up with Tae Min???; and (5) Tae-min’s 40th Birthday Bash (at which time I fully expect that gaudy engagement ring to end up on Soo Kyung’s finger, whether the couple likes it or not).
Because of casting announcements, sooner or later we will get flashbacks of Tae Ho’s father (was he kind or severe?); Tae Ho’s mother (apparently kind?); and the tyrant grandfather. Father Lee also returns.
We need some MEGA Shake-Up scenes/events. Hyo-shim and Tae Ho playing kissy face (as he trivializes her guilt over her mother) do not qualify.
Meanwhile, I 💕 Lee Hyo-Jun and Jung Mi Rim scenes. They - plus Grandmama Choi are keeping me interested.
Totally agree. As much as I wanted to like TH, that "I won't hold myself back next time, just so you know" was…
"Like with the contract signing situation, he used it as an excuse to convince her to have lunch with him when he could have kept things professional and asked her to go to the office to sign."
THIS. For all everyone crying about TM and "sexual harassment" (too many pretend lawyers around here), it is Tae Ho carelessly, thoughtlessly using his authority (client and now "employer") over Hyo Shim to get his way. Ordering her to bring him food. Ordering her to take him home from the hospital. He once described himself as "selfish and only care about myself." "Women always want to care for me."
He is spoiled, selfish and has walked through life relying upon charm - he';s never had to fight for anything, it's all been handed to him. Are his intentions towards HS "good"? Does he really care for her? Yes, in his own selfish way. He wants her and he is scheming on how to stay close to her (after telling TM he was going to stay away). But he's thoughtlessly putting a target on her back - she's not allowed to date a client, her brother knows that TH is not acting properly. If he REALLY cared about her, he would THINK about the position he's putting her in.
As I said - Thoughtless. The synopsis for the show says that "Tae Ho . . . .becomes the catalyst that pushes her over the edge." The s**t is about to hit the fan and I'm looking forward to it (and hopefully no more awful scenes between TM and Hyo Shim-the-doormat).
Yeah and it is complete filler, lol. Nothing happened outside of Taeho confessing how he wanted to kiss Hyoshim…
Looking at the prior KBS weekenders that aired during the holidays, the Nielsens didn't reflect any dramatic up or down in the ratings.
I like the pacing (slow build-up) of all the stories and I like how the two major families intersect in a variety of ways and not simply potential romantic partners. But from the beginning, Hyo Shim's "liberation" (or escape from family or "going over the edge") have been promoted and I'm frustrated that she has continued in door-mat mode throughout w/occasional outbursts but immediate regression. I don't see the build-up of her "explosion" or however it may manifest.
At some point, Hyo-shim "goes over the edge". Ga-on's mother will soon appear. TM has a 40th birthday bash coming up. TV Live is attacking Taesan Group. If writer-nim is planning some major events/twists at the mid-point, then the main question will be - how much do the stories revert back to square one (circular plot) vs. propelling stories into the next phase/chapter. TRHC chose circular plotting - crossing fingers for different outcome in LYOL.
And what if HS and Hannah Young share the same father? Maybe he had another family. To be 'in decline' a high…
If Uee does indeed play Hannah Young, then that's definitely a possibility. Hyo Shim was 9 years old when Dad abandoned his family. Ga-on is now 9 years old.
Any resemblance between the two women would also help answer why Tae Min had "insta" love for Hyo-shim when he saw her with her hair down. The current narrative of insta-love just doesn't make sense to me, but if Hyo Shim resembles his "first love" it would be standard drama plot twist, whether kdrama or Hollywood. I like it better than over-used reincarnated souls, that's for sure.
There are other questions I have about TM and Park Woo-joo's relationship. I think I'll re-post this in the "discussion forum" for future reference.
Yeah and it is complete filler, lol. Nothing happened outside of Taeho confessing how he wanted to kiss Hyoshim…
I really hate woman-on-man violence, but understand it is a K-drama staple. Nevertheless, it made my blood boil when Mi-ram hit Hyo-Jun like a punching bag. Hitting people because they are "stupid" or "lazy" (I couldn't quite figure out what she said) is a signal that Mi-rim grew up in a middle (or even lower) class family.
But their later scenes were nice and I look forward to watching with subs. Not even Grandmama (a favorite of mine) was on enough to matter. Awful episode.
When will Hyo Shim finally go "over the edge"??? That's what I want to know!!!! I call it for Episode 26 - originally planned as a Sunday episode, although that's the Christmas weekend. Does Christmas weekend impact Korea Nielsens? New Year's weekend?? More viewership or less??
Update on possible Ga-On/Tae Min connection In theEp. 22 preview, Ga-on sneaks away with Bang Ggeut Soon to attend the singing competition.
According to Namu Wiki, Ga-on's biological mother is named “Hannah Young” (Yeong Han-ah???). “She used to be the most successful woman in Tenpro*, but now she is in decline (?), and while working in a provincial town, she sees Ga-on on television and comes to her.”
After Ga-on met Tae Min several weeks ago, I threw out my wild and crazy speculation that Ga-on was Tae-min’s biological daughter. That scene was totally unnecessary but her moment with TM was very sweet. 🚨🚨 Plus she has become very close and beloved by Grandmother Choi who obviously cherishes her. 🚨🚨🚨
According to my translator, the KBS character chart identifies Park Woo-joo as Ga-on’s “step-dad”. Within the last few days, Namu Wiki now added the following line to Park Woo-joo notes. “It seems that they all have their own adult daughters. If he [she??]is put in later, there is a certain possibility that he will be connected to Kang Tae-min.” So, perhaps added weight to my wild and crazy theory??? (Or maybe someone read my theory and.. . . . .🤣🤣🤣🤣 nah!)
Casting for the character “Hannah Young” has not been announced. Anyway, here’s my new wild card: What If “Hannah Young” is played by Uee??? Uee is the central star of the show but at some point, Hyo Shim completely cuts the cord (“escapes”) from her family. She can’t simply be in a handful of scenes with Tae Ho and Tae Min. So, the way I look at it, around the time Hyo Shim essentially walks away to live her “independent life” (track coach???), “Hannah Young” will make her appearance. It would be a great twist for Uee . Of course – this would mean rather clever writing by the writers and I’m not sure if they are up to it.

Always enjoy your "predictions" (based on experience/data) regarding when promotional material will drop. 😊
I look at the amazing cast (Park Seo Joon, Jo Han Chul, Kim Hae Sook) and I want to watch. Then I watched the trailer (with blood spatters) and know that I won't watch until I am able to read some detailed recaps to avoid the "horror" aspect.
Ep 21 was imo one of the better episodes of the drama because we finally saw HS away from her shit ass useless…
I agree that HS mother is worse than TM mother because if nothing else, she is stupid and braindead. At least TM's mother has some smarts - although she is also clinically insane ("I'm going crazy"/"This is driving me insane"). I think TM Mom's final scenes will be in a psyche ward or locked up in a house with caretakers. Karma.
TM is stupid just like HS is stupid - devoted to mothers who don't deserve it.
It's obvious to me TM is cutting all ties to HS in order to protect her (from both his mother and Soo kyung). I don't know if it fits with Death's Game, but it is probably my all time favorite OST from any kdrama and definitely my favorite from AOS.

Tae Min is the heir - if anyone (grandparents, uncle, etc) suspected otherwise, they would not have groomed him to take over.
