The dictionary definition of something is not applicable in many instances in real life, where you can't just point to a definition and justify usage. Caste system is a sensitive topic and should be left alone, and also it's entirely possible to explain this topic without resorting to this method.
Regardless of anyone's personal views on the caste system in India, it's not appropriate for a foreign TV show to use it a quirky way to describe hierarchy in a company. The caste system in India is a deeply complex issue even for us Indians. How can that be used as a metaphor by people who have never experienced it themselves?? It's disrespectful and condescending.
