it dropped again... lmao, can someone give me specific reasons why they think it's sooo terrible? other than FL…
You know what I’m going to give you a list: 1. What’s the premise? Why are these people (children at that time), so interested in being chairman? Why does the FL marry Inha (she ends up in her regular job)? 2. They don’t know what embezzlement is… this is a finance based show… 3. Gold H investments Cannot (I can’t stress this enough), be a paper company and be super well known. Why is the goon the ceo? They have to register the owner at the stock exchange, so it makes zero sense. 4. What’s wrong with Inha? Taeho was helping him faithfully for real, so why be a psycho?! 5. Wtf is the chairman’s weird city dream, he needs an asylum too. I Can point out a 100 things about every episode, the point being that the writer has 0 skills and we can’t answer “why” for any plot point at all.
I already said somewhere on here that the crime sentences in this drama were ridiculous and unrealistic in SK…
That city scene looked so funny, would’ve made for a good parody if they tried 😂. Did the chairman ever even have a mind though? He seemed pretty unstable from the beginning lol, we can see where Inha gets it from
Ending: Ep. 10 - idk what to say except “that’s not how that works”. You can’t magically create an owner of an investment firm. It needs to be listed on the stock exchange (with some kind of govt. ID) for a long time before gaining that kind of reputation. How the hell is that random prisoner/goon’s fake identity a Wall Street genius?! Ep. 11 - how can an investment firm be a paper company? If it’s a paper/ghost company, how come they’re well known? What drugs does the writer take?! Also I like Huiju, but why would someone give up their shares to her brother? Extremely dumb. Gold H investment is by far the worst nonsense in this show. Ep. 12 - Damn I really wanted Inha to murder the whole cast and then die. That would’ve been a nice end. Instead, we see Taeho magically win. How does the doctor just happen to show up at the right time? Why doesn’t the guard make sure the man’s dead? This secretary (his position never officially changes) manages to sell a subsidiary? Also stock prices are increasing when management changes everyday lol, what a farce. And how come Inha gets life in prison when Taeho got capital punishment? the crime is worse since he killed his own brother. Taeho with his lack of brain will now lead this awful company somewhere, the freaky chairman wants some weird building (they’re venture capitalists! This is dumb) and apparently FL can change jobs whenever she likes (not a fan that it’s a happy end for her). This is a great example of how people shouldn’t write things beyond their capabilities. Either way, LJW and Jun are awesome actors and I loved their scenes together. 2/10, one for each ML.
Ep. 5 - why is what Inha did such a big problem? He simply had them release an article which made the subsidiary’s value seem inflated. It’s NOT illegal in any country. legal consequences for what?! Ep. 6 - I replayed it and I swear he’s hit on the back not the head, how is it brain surgery with blood at the front? Also, how does a Surgery patient wake up, walk out and get to the office? Ep. 7 - Complete nonsense. Embezzlement is simply misappropriation of funds. How tf did he “fill the gap” of failed futures with a mine?! Taeho looks so cool but sounds so dumb 😭 I feel bad for LJW Ep. 8 - Taeho doesn’t want to be chairman, I get that they’re awful cheaters, but why can’t Inha understand there’s nothing to gain from imprisoning him? Also, I’m worried for myself for being very much into Jun/the way he plays psychopaths. I need help lol Ep . 9 - this idiot goes to her mother for support?! Really? Also I’m not sure if it’s a bad translation but wtf is a “dispense work”? Did they make that nonsense up? So far, is this holes in plot or plot thrown in the middle of holes? Experts can’t tell…
About the premise and that centre, you can take a look at the discussion topic up there, title "the context of…
It’s so bad, it’s almost funny at this point lol. Thanks for posting all of the context!! I can’t imagine how hard it would’ve been to get the details from their half second vague dialogues
Ok so I’ll be honest, I decided to watch this show since I’m not usually the most convinced by MDLs ratings (not a fan of the writing in a few highly rated shows), and because a lot of people mentioned how business/finance oriented it was. Currently, I’m at episode 5. And everyone was so correct! 😭 Apart from the sad acting/lack of emotion in characters, the business parts (which is legit most of the show) don’t make much sense. Honourable mentions: Episode 3 - the other side’s “transition” to a holding company? From what? How? A holding company is a parent/LLC for operating companies, and one needs to be ‘created’. Episode 4 - what magic buttons did the hacker press to convert cash dividend into stock dividend with 2 keyboard clicks? Also, since they say it was a technical error, why doesn’t the son look for solutions instead of moping around? Have the shareholders reinvest to mitigate risk at least. Episode 5 - how are the charges against son number 2 just dropped? What happened to the people who got 1000 shares? (I feel like they won’t come back to this tbh). Also, a North Korean hacker manipulated the “global banking system”? Why? N.K has no official finance industry, so what was the point of his job? Lastly, wtf is the “centre”?! I mean in business terms, what kind of subsidiary is it? An investment firm? Financial capital? Venture capitalism? The main premise of the show is about a corporation, but they don’t seem to explain anything at all?! I wish this writer would retire already, what a mistake of a show.
Just wanted to leave a comment under this show since it ended with the event. Thailand became the second Asian country to legalize same-sex marriage recently, by a very large margin (400/415 votes; still has to pass upper house but support is insanely high). That makes their scenes in the last episode so much more special imo. Love this version of the manga! Honestly, I liked it much more than the Japanese one, but that’s because I’m much closer to Thai culture.
Predications / Thoughts FL - although angry loves ML .I’m thinking that she might have given him some shares…
I hope she didn’t give him any shares honestly, since the value will going up and down, and we don’t know what the villain side wants to do with the company yet (for ex. liquidate it, sell off parts). I was actually happy when they showed the brother selling off his Queens stock. The power of attorney should be valid since she most likely changed her name legally, it wouldn’t be very smart of them to ignore that detail.
Is the chairman's bookkeeper also working for SML and the villains? The fact that he is embezzling money and the…
He doesn’t have to work for them, I don’t really remember seeing any signs of that. Since the funds and accounts are under the chairman’s name (it’s his personal bookkeeper), as long as he is embezzling even for himself, the chairman and even the company could get implicated. The villain side is actually quite smart with all the research they’ve done and the way they’ve set up the financial scam/con.
Honestly, huge shoutout to the writer of this show (she also wrote CLOY!). The cast, crew and directors are great of course, but a lot of the narrative elements and the ability to create flawed but sympathetic characters is amazing. Also, I’m not sure about the legal or medical aspects, but the financial parts are pretty done so far with the “blind trust” establishment, holding stocks as collateral and using CD’s to hide a slush fund. (Have not heard those terms in many kdramas). Regardless of how people like/dislike her shows, she’s a very talented writer!
The characters on this drama are very flawed and complex which I find to be a breath of fresh air. All are very…
Thanks! Honestly as long as he doesn’t end up with her, I like the character just fine. Abusive ML with issues is a very old tired trope which they’ve been justifying through “plot” for a long time im glad they’re not going to do that.
Just started this show and really like the plot so far (ep. 7). Also, definitely a Yang Zi fan after this! But, can someone please confirm that the 9 headed demon is not the final male lead for sure? I don’t care how much they develop his character, I’m not down for abusive in the beginning leads.
I completelyyy agree with you! I am on the 25th episode and seriously considering if I should soldier through…
I’ll be honest, the forward button was my friend lol. I like all actors and all sets/graphics, so somehow stuck through. But trust me the writing will only get more confusing and strange. The novel must be different, but the scriptwriters… are not good at any of it, sadly it won’t get better :(
