I like Kim Min Gue (Gyu?) but I’ve heard that this drama is not doing too well in terms of viewership. So for…
It's a lot of fun, and the main characters are friendly people. The ML has hilarious reactions to some of the situations he's put into, and his facial expressions are priceless! If you like older dramas (You're Beautiful, for example) with a bit of drama, a bit of comedy and a smidge of possible romance, but mainly just escapist entertainment, you'll enjoy it. Don't watch it if you want gritty realism, "slice of life" or amazing CGI.
When I saw Lee Jang Woo appear as the devil, I stood up from my chair and started clapping, I don't think that…
He always seemed vaguely nasty to me in Bel Ami - I never understood all the people getting second lead syndrome - so seeing him as an evil character here made perfect sense to me! 😂 It works well.
"SJ is way too depressing a character to even deserve her." WTF???? Is this how we are treating mental illnesses…
Well said, and I think the drama has shown how having a friend like GH is so valuable. He is impulsive and can seem a bit insensitive, but he didn't hesitate to run after SJ on that rooftop, grab him and hold onto him, which is what he needed... unquestioning support. I hope you find friends like that too.
Why do i see so many people here complaining about the last 2 episodes?.... am i the only one who thought those…
I'm slightly startled by the number of people who say that they only. saw it as a romcom until episode 13/14. Were they falling asleep for long chunks of every episode? Starting right at the beginning, there was a death, and that hasn't been the only one. We've had cats being injured and killed. Mysterious people in black hoods chasing around dark neighbourhoods. Teenagers depressed/locked in their dark room alone/refusing to speak/having dark thoughts. There has been exam fraud, extreme parental pressure, burned-out and exhausted tutors and students...
... and people are saying "until the last couple of episodes it was a lighthearted romcom". 😕 Really?
I love the whole drama. There is a bit of everything, and in my opinion it's fairly well balanced, so that although it's covering some dark themes, you're not completely overwhelmed by them.
Since the writer is recycling the storyline about the biological mother who abandons her child to a relative only…
If they suddenly forgive Hae Yi's mum and she doesn't get any retribution for those years of abandonment, I will be annoyed, but I will also be very surprised. Judging by the writing so far, I can't see the writer doing the "family is everything - even if they've been evil in the past" storyline. I do hope the quieter mums in the study group start to get firmer with Su-A's mum and Sun-Jae's mum, because some of them (especially the short-haired lady) have the potential to be nice supportive parents, but every time they started to suggest something nice, they were shouted down by Su-A's awful mother.
If you liked all the characters in this drama I would worry about you. You're meant to hate most of them, feel frustrated by many of them, and wish that the rest could stand up to people.
All I want to know is when is Su Ah's mum getting hers?
I suspect she's in for a few home truths in the next episode. This writer isn't going to get her get away with being that evil to Haeng Seo, and causing so much mental distress to her own daughter. I suspect it's going to be very unpleasant.
I really don't want the students "paired up." I want them to continue to support each other and become a fun loving…
I agree. I don't see the student storyline as a romantic story at all. Hae Yi only sees both boys as her friends, and I think the most satisfying and realistic ending would be for the three of them to be best friends. If the writer tries to force a romance, I think it will seem odd, and will have been done just because of audience expectations.
Yep. As a writer myself, I know how hellishly difficult it is to tie up loose ends in a natural way that's believable,…
Oh, finish Crazy Love, definitely! I've rewatched that and it's still. just as fantastic when you know the story. I completely agree about this drama. too. The murder plot was always intertwined with the romance plot and the parental pressure storyline. It was never just a romcom, and I'm. baffled by the people complaining.
Poor Haeng Seon took the worst of it in the last few minutes of the episode, with the police heavily implying she was an abusive aunt who drove her niece to attempt suicide, and her own sister waltzing in after abandoning Hae Yi all those years ago but suddenly acting the outraged mother. We need Hae Yi to wake up soon and take her aunt's side against everyone else, because we all know that she will protect her.
man the whole time hae yi was running I was thinking just scream your lungs out kiddd!!! after she was hit 847594859…
The problem is that, although screaming would be sensible, the human body doesn't always react sensibly in traumatic situations. It's actually fairly realistic for her just to run.
