But from what we have seen, it is speculated that the two had an affair, which kinda implies that they spend more time together and willingly so. I think another reason as to why HaoLing Wang might accept her regardless, is bc he loves her mother so much. We still do not know why they even divorced. It defo didn't seem like he was the one who wanted the divorce but XYs mom

Now that you say that- So far I was working with the assumption that the Grandmother was Xuans Grandmother (over his fathers side) and that XiaoYaos relation to her was over her mother being grandmas pupil. I also saw that Granny and XY mom had the same 'clan' name. So they are from the same clan but what is their relation to each other that makes them in the end XY mom call granny "ShiFu" (Master)??? Wouldn't blood relation go over "ShiFu"? WHY TF would the King say that she looks similar to her grandma UNLESS it's another granny altogether but that wouldn't make sense either, would it now? SO CONFUSED!

I do not think he will be stuck in my mind for some grand sacrifice but bc he is getting all "the romance lines". Compared to all the other guys, he is the one who watched the moon with her, who has som kinky time with her, who has some heart-to-heart. He really gets all the romantic scenes- till he gets upset and has to ruin it, that lil mofo!!!! That is what my therapist call self sabotage! XiaoYao just saved him, getting that wound in her back for him, then being choked after Xuan managed to escape (he should have felt that, too, no?) and then he thinks that a couple hours later XiangLiu, the mad man, is gonna cure her and they gonna do some smexy time? Maybe that is why he looks at ShiQi that way, thinking that there could be no other way but HIM bite XiaoYao on her neck. Would explain why he is so unhappy all the time when ShiQi is there, maybe he thinks they already 'hit first base together' or some hrhrhr I want to see that interaction so badly, too<3

They are not blood related in the drama, I believe. I am currently making a character chart. I will upload it soon. It's WAY easier to SEE it rather than to read it and try to make sense of their relation but imma try make it simple:
Both mothers (Xuans and XiaoYaos) lived together with Xuan's grandmother. Xuan's Grandmother was the ShiFu (master) of XiaoYaos mother. (They both belonged to the same clan, so I imagine that is how that came to be) That is how they got to know each other and grew up together under one roof.

For some reason, I read about how hard it was to chose 'the white/silver' wig for Gerald in The Witcher series bc on TV it would always look either too glossy or too dirty, white it hard to make work with the lighting as well- I love the wig they chose for XiangLiu! It really must have taken a lot of thought to get it right! (thanks for the lil tit bit<3)

Someone has to explain to me WHY THAT MAKES SENSE!?

In EP01, when they explain the world set up, her father is mentioned in one sentence. It's 赤宸 Chi Chen, the war general of 辰荣 Chen Rong. XiaoYao's mother went to war for 西炎 XiYan, meaning that both her parents faced each other in that war and killed each other! That is how so far I understood it. I am working on a character Chart as we speak. I hope it illustrates the relations to each other better, soon! There are SO MANY CHARACTERS IN THIS DRAMA HELP
赤宸 Chi Chen of 辰荣 Chen Rong lost and the whole green clan that you can see on the world map (I will upload that, too later in case you haven't seen it yet) was assimilated into one huge nation. Now there is only red, 西炎 XiYan and blue, 皓翎 HaoLing. XiaoYao's father is the king of 皓翎 HaoLing (the place where they just came from) and 西炎 XiYan is the place where Xuans grandfather is the ruler (the place they just arrived in the story as of yesterday).

As for the whole "nine lives, one heart". I think it's bc killing XiangLiu requires to kill him 9 times due to him being a snek with 9 heads! But this snek only has one body, thus one heart. The bug is nested in XiangLius heart and if the bug is going to take his one and only heart---(Maybe it wouldn't kill him but what do we know what happens to the snek when it's got no heart no more? I haven't seen an explanation so far either)

As I kinda understood, the bugs want your life and your heart! When the lovers do not end up together, the bug (as I understand) might kill it's host. (please correct me anybody reading this knowing better, it will do me a favour!!)

To me, truly a masterpiece, I can not agree more with you!

I especially love how much each character makes sense. We could end up talking hours on here dissecting their character and there are no moments where they break character for some dramatic huge action. They all have their motives, traumas, aspirations and somehow keep this balance between each character, never truly friend, never truly enemies. I am at the edge of my seat. Every new hindrance testing their loyalties to each other and if they will put their own tasks and aspirations over the well being of each other (mostly, over FL :( For her, it's always a gable)
