I really liked the beginning for (to me at least) it was not all cliche and one trope presented after another. Here the FL is older than the ML and even taught him martial arts from her horrible confinement. I don't even want to imagine her days, there was so much potential to the story. However the writer just decided that mental health is not an issue and she comes out of there without any (meaningful) PTSD nor does she mind living with the family of the man that inprisoned her for that long... (I am writing "meaningful" bc being scared of thunder being the only thing is like ??? UnU What a let down) So much unexplored plot here. How must it have been for her to teach the little kid and then later they pair up, how comes that the little kid is so rude to his shifu when he finds out she is a woman and out of prison? I just have so many questions! How is it for the little boy to grow up learning from someone confined in such a horrible prison, the damn trauma. Especially considering that he later likes her, wouldn't he look back at that time and think of how unjust things where? UnU I would have loved to explorer these topics more but nope... guess I gotta do that mental gymnastic myself, can't expect nothing from writers these days.
Watching so many idol dramas with brightness cranked up to 11, it's so refreshing to see people on screen with actual pores and "darker" skin tones. It feels so authentic X. X
I don't watch modern day (office) dramas bc of the angst so I just wanted to skip into this real quick to have a glimps at ML but--- WHERE IS HE omg I've been searching now for so many EPs, giving up X. X Might just watch a fan cut on bilibili
I don't really hate that kind of story where a woman is being forced into the corner by a man in higher power, but what I hate is when that girl can do absolutly nothing but be the caged little bird with broken wings. Make it more interesting! I wanna see some conflict, her overcoming her abuser and coming out on top of this BS. To what audience does this drama cater to? If you want to see a woman in distress, trying to overcome her abuser, give https://kisskh.at/32981-in-the-palm-of-my-hand a try. Or when you are into women being abused (no shaming here) and want to see them struggling in a man domniant world, give Thai Lakorn a try. Women in Lakorn have to deal all the time with guys domniating over them.

X I did write it a little bit illogical, I ment to say that 爷爷 wanted to know BoYe's unique skills for himself but she didn't tell him anything up until she escaped that dungeon of his... but I really gotta rewatch with subs to better understand why 爷爷 does the things he does. I can feel the chemestry even though I think ML is a little bit too cocky towards FL in the beginning of the drama (but that gets better later on). I do however feel like they are very- hmmm timid (?) in showing skinship. Idk how that comes though, if its the actors or the director, kinda feels like they wanna keep it kid friendly. *shrug*

In the drama, she is an OP fighter who gets captured by MLs father and ML as a child stumbles into her prison and she teaches him martial arts... she is supposed to be older than ML by far! The age gap between the actors is actually not even big enough to really display that difference
Loved him as FL's 师父 (master) in 'Love Lost in Times' but really fell for him when playing villain roles, especially as the main villain in 'Under The Power'. Looking forward to even more from him <3

You and me both. These days there aren't many good ones and I end up just checking out the first EPs of any drama that is coming out- and then I drop em bc they suck. This one however was surprisingly fun, it's just annoying to wait on subs
Youku and Mango are the bane of my existence. It's quicker to just learn Chinese than wait on those two to sub their (lesser popular) dramas... And even when they finish subbing months later, it's those sloppy subs..... makes me really miss good old fan translations UnU At least it was worth waiting on those subs
