Don't get your hopes up just yet. Mango is one of those that sub the first 2-4Eps and then just give up. There are some dramas out there for over 2ys on their channel that they started to sub but then drop after 5Eps or so TTATT I am so sad

Even though people are worried that this one might be a heavy drama, I feel it is super refreshing and was easy to binge through. I am used to palace harems, so this one feels quite light in comparison and FLs more modern attitude makes it way less depressive to watch. She really feels like a modern person suck in an old setting. While everyone around her is depressed, pressured into scheming and worried for their survival/fulfilling their position in life, she is just drifting by, having her sewing hobby as something she could make money with when shit really hits the fan and she is left to fend for herself. Her Shifu is a great part of that personality trait of hers, she showed her that women CAN be independened and she does not have to feel suppressed by men, she will always be able to leave (at least that is what she believes).

I don't know if you have by now given it a try or need more motivation but around some point you see the two never leaving each others sides, living together, coming and getting off of work (both working at the same place!), having meals together. They just full on live a married couples life just they didn't tell *us* that they are married, evereyone else in-universe knows it, tho haha

Give it a try, if some parts are rough and you feel like dropping, consider mad skipping instead. XD I skip tons watching it but reguardless I come back to watch the highlights again and again. The acting and the romance is on the next level. Do not be mistaken when you see the 'censored romance' tag and think there is no romance at all. There is tons! It's just not the usual kind where people confess to each other but rather SHOW the love, not in the form of skinship or kisses, etc but rather be there for each other.

Sometimes I really dig the political stuff but these days I am a bit too impatient, especially for conflict that slowly builds up. Side characters just talking how they could find trouble for our main leads and I am just "ok, u know what, do that, I just skip ahead and see you fail, no need for all your talkin about it". Maybe I had too many characters like that and too many convos like that in my drama watching time or my patience is just wearing too thin these days haha The other day when ML was for once saying something against his mom (for sending his babe to the mountains for some BS reason) I was a lil bit proud of the mamas boi.

Kids can be so fun written in a story when done well. But how often do we see kids really enrichen a story? I was super happy about the child in 'Eternal Love' and the kids in the currently airing 'Word of Honor' even though the later ones are a bit more grown up, it's still adorable<3
I wanna see the kids in here too and not just as some plot device pushed in and then forgotten TTATT (I am asking of too much!)

The dynamic between the characters gives me so much to think about.
I feel like it is not hard to befriend our FL but Yan Jin is having the hardest time to just become a drinking buddy of hers. She is way more comfortable in the positon of being the person that helps rather than being helped. Ofc she is happy when it is give and take, she helps and someone helps her in return but ML is this (very flirty) knight in shining armor that an literally do anything and knows it, too!
Her usual way of growing closer with people, helping them and being helped in turn, feeling gratitude towards each other and comfort each other, does not work with that man that looks like a god (rich, has all skills, always in high spirits even when hurting, he is too OP written) OP =over powered
