The reviews are mainly populated by the SAME users giving multiple dramas a 10 π Childish users (with multiple cloned/bot accounts that will like their own review) who are either jobless, still in school, a depressed aunty/karen or personals directly from the companies that made these dramas. Their simping knows no bounds, without realizing they are actually telling everyone that they have 0 clue on how to professionally critique a show and that their tastes are just plain bad.
Is Yi Huo a newly written character that doesn't exist in the original novel? There's been 2 "love" interests for Hong Qi Gong, the first one was shown in Romance of The Condor Heroes, the lady with white hair died together with Qigong in mount hua with Ouyang Feng.
And then now, we have Yi Huo. Both of them had different names in their respective show, so is it safe to assume that they were unique characters written in? I do prefer this Yi Huo character over the other lady in Romance of the Condor Heroes though. I hate it everytime they kill off lovable characters. They bothered to reinvent love interest, why not just tweak and give the character a happy ending instead.

Wow they look nearly the same age. That's impressive how Chen Du Ling is able to maintain her youth.
The actor for Huang Yaoshi seems kindda old to be starring with Chen Du Ling as a couple though. Thought they would used a younger actor to portray young Huang Yaoshi. I guess if they give him a younger hairstyle and some makeup there could be a chance that it would work. https://kisskh.at/742627-jin-yong-wuxia-universe-dong-xie-xi-du/cast

Interesting, I think the 2008 version may have also covered some of that, but I may have forgotten. Thanks for the info and I hope that prequel releases soon. It has already been a year with no news. I'm actually quite curious how are they going to use that young actress Chen Du Ling paired up with that older actor as Huang Yao Shi. It'll look a little weird with the age gap. That actress is probably the same age as the actress who played Huang Rong.

"This 30 eps consists 4 different stories: Eastern Heretic and Western Venom, Southern Emperor and Northern Beggar, Nine Yin Manual, The Battle at Mt. Hua.
Each of this story has 8 eps, with Battle at Mt. Hua will have 6 eps."
Interesting, any idea if this is a brand new story not told before or was it written by Jin Yong in the past when he was alive? Other than Demi Gods Semi Devils which is the prequel to the condor trilogy though that took place before any of the condor characters existed, I don't recall anything about the backstory of the 5 greats. So I'm quite curious if this is some new original story by some other writer. I guess only the actress that played Huang Rong's mother will show up in this prequel.
"There is a rumor they are making the sequel, which is The Return of the Condor Heroes. Bcos the story tells about Yang Guo, means some of the LOTCH characters will make appearances, but played by different actors."
That's unfortunate to hear. So again, we will see different actors though this time it's by the same production team (I'm assuming).

I've just completed this show, I actually love it equally as much to the 2008 version with Lin Yi Chen and Hu Ge. Definitely can appreciate how they skipped the backstory of the parents and the growing up in mongol for Guo Jing and insert them as short and simple flashbacks.
Anyway, I'd like to ask if there's any new updates for the sequel of this show? I'm reading that there are 4 different sequels, do all these make up the 30 episodes or do they each have 30 episodes?
I'm also seeing that one of them is Return of the Condor Heroes, does that mean that the same cast for Guo Jing and Huang Rong would be in that show? I've watched Return of the Condor Heroes (Liu Yu Fei) and HSDSS 2019 (Chen Yuqi), love both as well, but ROCH had different actors for returning characters like Guo Jing and Huang Rong. So I'm quite curious if this new sequel especially the ROCH, would feature the same cast for returning characters? Or could I have read it wrong and there's actually no upcoming ROCH sequel? It's just the one as you said in the previous comment, with the backstory of the 5 great masters?
My mandarin's pretty wonky, so can't really access the chinese sources efficiently.
Indeed. I really want to see the sequel to Parasyte and GC3. Well at least Netflix is still backing Squid Game.
Perhaps in the coming years ahead these korean companies like studio dragon etc would take up Parasyte or GC3 and produce the show. Especially for GC3 since GC2 had quite a cliffhanger/open ending
Netflix is an abomination, they've cancelled countless shows. Only few gets a seaon 2. I hope that at least we get a season 3 of Gyeongseong Creature. That show was equally as entertaining as this one.
No episodes yesterday, only 1 today. Hopefully they will release the last few episodes at once to make up for…
Same here, my gf wants to be done with this show. If only they release all the episodes at once, like how netflix release all episodes of the previous squid game at onceπ They probably want to extend discussions of this show, hence the slower release interval.
This show is surprisingly entertaining. The script and concept around are great and it being 28 episodes and 45 minutes long each episode, there's only a minimal instance where I've had to skip episodes. Very surprised they were able to come up with enough material for a 2nd season, but I'll try catching it in the future.
Yes they've been dragging it out and the conclusion is way overdue! This is a "decent" script at best, Moonlight…
Preach what you talk and read my comment again, you've been disrespectful in countless comments not just mine. You seem to be under the delusion that I care about what you think. Facts over opinions. Your opinions doesn't matter to me π
The one that needs to respect opinions is you not me by the way.

To me, it feels like they've just been dragging things out for the last 3 - 4 episodes. And the drama is 32 episodes,…
Yes they've been dragging it out and the conclusion is way overdue! This is a "decent" script at best, Moonlight Mystique and Love Between Fairy and Devil does seem to be way more entertaining than this. Was expecting more from Feud since both Joseph Zeng and Bai Lu stars in it. This show should have been 20 episodes at most.
The issue here is they've written too much misunderstanding into this show, IMO this show should've been 20 episodes…
Glad I'm not the only one convinced on this π― I love seeing how agitated some of the minority here are over differing agreement over a show, it's like their life depends on it π

I was responding based on your claim stating that it's 1 misunderstanding. Admit your mistake and respect other's opinions. I will not be responding further to this.
The issue here is they've written too much misunderstanding into this show, IMO this show should've been 20 episodes…
Not exactly the way they've shown it. It is actually multiple misunderstandings from both of them throughout the episodes, one after another, snowballing. 1. First with the interference with mortal's fate, 2. then Bai Jiu Si taking matters into his own hands (I believe him "abondoning" her in the mortal realm) was actually saving her from a more heavy punishment, but him keeping it a secret from Si Ling agitated her 3. The son and her disciple died 4. They fought again after the 10 years, Si Ling did not tell Bai Jiu Si that she was saving her son, Bai Jiu Si misunderstood her rebel and unknowingly killed his son before he could reincarnate 5. etc 6. etc
There are countless misunderstandings, not just one. Even Si Ling acknowledges this when sharing all these misunderstandings to her "master".
Was the writers trying to portray BJS as someone who abandoned his wife or put the blame on him. Coz if it's so…
The issue here is they've written too much misunderstanding into this show, IMO this show should've been 20 episodes or less. 32 episodes comprising of misunderstandings between 2 couples would require them writing in multiple misunderstandings and dragging it out making it complex which it doesn't have to be.
