Overall City Hunter is the better made show over Healer IMO. I've watched both. And I'm not talking about the cast, more of the plot, direction / pacing etc. It's overall a more well written series than Healer, though Healer is not a bad series, it just pales in comparison to City Hunter. The love story in healer was quite cringe as well.

100% Agreed! Excuse the repeated rant but I DETEST that eternal member with the wolverine haircut and beard, more so than the hidden master and Cold Spring Palace / Zhen Yu. He's the most annoying character and I'm willing to bet you'll hate him too hahah!

I'm not a fan of the Eternals (Sect), and especially that one member from Lanling with the wolverine-like hair cut (the loud mouth dude that has 0 IQ and always resort to fighting)

You're definitely past ep 4 if you're suspecting that Chong Zhao / 2ml is the hidden mo. What happened to his parents, is due to corruption, I'll just say it as that! The hints on how his parents died are scattered from the 2nd half of this series onwards and then there's the big reveal which you'll understand once it happens. Actually, do you want the direct answer or is the above sufficient enough? I'm not used to spoiling it for someone so I'm not sure how direct an answer I should give. And this series happens to have multiple layers per main character (which makes it even more intriguing! It may not be fun for you if I spill the beans hahah).

I see! LOL you do love spoilers! Fan Yue is only "partially" her benefactor, so you're somewhat right. The benefactor in the "hidden sea" does not look like Fan Yue, you're right as well! But there's more to it then just that as well, similar to Fu Ling :D

It's impressive that you were able to suspect the flower demon's relations at just 4 episodes in. It took about 25++ episodes for me to begin suspecting their connection. I'm in SG too but have no idea what fly is.

Anyway, glad you've cleared the BORING episodes, you've entered the main plot line now, from ep 4 onwards!

HAHA I would not want to spoil it for you, but it seems like you want the answer and I'll feel bad for trying to avoid the question hence I'll relent and say that you're quite right! There is more to Fu Ling than just being related to the Bai Xi / Bai Shuo Relationship and you'll be in for a surprise!

I'm at episode 16 currently. The first 3 episodes were BORING, it felt like a mediocre script and I was about to move on to other shows, but when the controlled demons/civilians started attacking the stronghold and Bai Shuo's father died, it began to go into the MAIN PLOT/AGENDA and with that, it got interesting, and the pacing picked up from there with little filler/draggy scenes. I could've missed out and skipped on a decently paced show if I hadn't waited at least 5 minutes longer in ep 3.

This series should've started at episode 3 or simply condense those first 3 episodes into 1 episode as they were a waste of time, we don't need 3 whole episodes to understand the backstory/prequel to the main agenda/plot.

Anyways, other than the initial slow start, from ep 4 to 16 it has been quite captivating and intriguing. Bai Lu is such a gem to look at and her acting is great in this show as well.

Hoping for a happy ending as there's been too many series these days where one of the main leads dies for dumb reasons.

This drama was a waste of time. Female lead loved more than 1 dude. The main lead got manipulated by the Female lead for 8 YEARS risking his life and almost died on several occasions. Mo ended up dying since the medicine was a LIE. The Female lead ended up dying in another dude's arms while the male lead only got to see her Tomb. What a HORRIBLE drama. I want the hours spent on this drama back! I guess this was written to cater to woman since the girl showed affection to more than 1 dude. From a guy's perspective, the female lead is a scheming manipulative liar. Nothing romantic about this show. It's more of a dark twisted plot.

Reverse the role, have the man be the liar, showing affection to multiple woman while having the female lead be in Zhan Bai's naive position, and the other demographic will diss this show, though either way I'll diss it. Save your time and watch other shows like "Love Between Fairy and Devil" instead, Snowy Night Timeless love has a promising concept but the script/story/plot is plain trash.

I love IU's songs but Gong Seung Yeon should've been chosen for the main lead role instead. She's the better actress. If Seung Yeon ends up rejecting the role it's fine as well. She should be going for lead roles instead.

Thanks, this further confirms my initial assumptions that they are not related. Interesting to know the reasons behind it. I was actually hoping for the female lead to be Jung So Min again considering she was the female lead of Alchemy of Souls with Lee Jae Wook. Hopefully Jo Bo Ah delivers.

Obviously because they are not blood related, they just want us to think that way and then through the story they'll discover the truth and then fall in love, which we've seen in other sibling type of plot twist over the years. Nothing new here.

I had no issues with the dark scenes. Take note, for dark scenes, it requires a high contrast ratio screen. IPS screens are known to have the worse contrast ratio, typically 1000:1. It is likely that your device is using an IPS panel if you have difficulty seeing anything. Do upgrade to a screen with at least a VA panel or an OLED for at least an optimal viewing experience.

Fun Fact: The actress who played the FL shares the same opinion as you (Look for the interview on youtube). She can't understand why the character was so obsessed with the guy in the first 7-8 episodes. After that though, the character completely reveals her tiger self. Hence I think you should endure it. I did, and it certainly paid off well!

Is it a watch though? I've just completed ep 2, not liking how the ML is treating the FL, constantly stalking and tormenting her. Either her parents were way too evil or the ML is just way too sadistic. Can't see any romance blossoming between this 2 though the plot is stating they will be in love.
