Woooooohooooooo!!! There is a change of schedule! We getting one episode tomorrow too!
Who actually plans all these episode schedules? Are they usually this fickle minded to be changing schedule at the last minute? Also any idea what is "express"? I've seen some people stating that term but have no idea what it means.
I was thinking I wonāt hear any good ost in this drama but I decided to listen to the opening theme and damn…
Agreed the opening theme is memorable! Welcome to the no skipping of the opening theme club! I personally like the melody and instruments used in the opening theme, along with how they animated both Bai Jiu Si and Si Ling's Swords, stuck together with a red skarf, supposedly representing their romance. Bai Lu's voice is sweet but perhaps she needs a little more practice to better project her vocals in singing like those actual singers.
And the way they animated Bai Jiu Si and Si Ling to enter the frame after that from the left and right respectively were "heavenly". The second half of the opening were basic though, the cuts seem to be filled with static images of the characters.
Interesting. Even the opening theme sung by Bai Lu? I actually prefer the opening theme more than the ending theme, though the ending theme is great too.
After watching today's episodes 23-24, the MVPs of this show are: 1. Xi E 2. Si Ling's "Master" when she was Li Qing Yue 3. The "Tree Girl" 4. The "Big Head" Boy
These 4 side characters alone are the ones preventing a multiple sect war caused by a couple in "divorce" phase from breaking out.
There is a high possibility that either Xi E or Si Ling's "Master" or both of them would be the ones serving as counsellors to the couple and resolving the miscommunication. Obviously both Bai Jiu Si and Si Ling are at fault due to miscommunication. What this couple needs isn't swords and magic powers, they need counselling, anger management and social therapy. They are making modern day couples with divorce lawyers look like angels.
Bai Jiu Si: There's something that matters more than life itself. Xi E: Like what? Bai Jiu Si: The truth. Xi E: What's that mouth of yours for, huh?
TELL HIM IN HIS FACEEEEEE.. PREACH BRUHHH If anyone deserves a divine title, Xi E of all the divines seen so far, acts, behaves, speaks, and has the mentality of one, heck, she should be the only divine goddess. The rest of them have the mentality of mortals. ______________________________________________________________________________ Li Qing Yue's Master to Si Ling: What exactly happened between you and the Heavenly Lord Dacheng? Si Ling: Are you just hoping for a JUICY story to go with your drink?
Bruhhh, it's not just her, we're all here with our popcorn and drinks being shoved towards your "JUICY" story because that "JUICY" story is the cause of all these Feud and it's about to expand to involve multiple mortal and immortal sects going to war with one another because the two of yous are inapt at maintaining an honest communication which is key in a relationship. š ______________________________________________________________________________ Li Qing Yue's Master to Si Ling: Honestly, when it comes to romance, can't you just sit down and talk things through? Why resort to violence? Are you dense!???
NO FREAKING WAY This "master" in her "drunken" state was able to smack some truth to Si Ling, a supposed almighty goddess.
If she kills him, how does he revive himself for a happy ending or will the timeline reset to a different outcome…
If she kills him again, then she'll be deemed a nonsensical character and Bai Jiu Si will be an idiot to still love her š Bai Jiu Si is also not innocent since he has failed to tell the truth to Si Ling. It's already tiring to see the events repeat itself again in episode 20, a couple that fails to communicate through words and use violence is not a couple, it's simply a toxic relationship.
At this point, we're all entertained by their toxic relationship š
I donāt want to spread negativity. I just want to share some of my thoughts. Itās obvious that the writer…
Agreed with your points, there's inconsistencies with their characters here.
If you wish to catch more Joseph Zeng, definitely check out his best work "Heavenly Sword and Dragon Slaying Saber (2019) / HSDSS". IMO that show has a much better pacing, plot and script and is one of my favorites. Joseph Zeng, Yukee Chen and Xudan Zhu were all spot on choices for their selected characters. Heck, even the side characters Yang Xiao, played by Lin Yu Shen, were equally memorable!
I just wish for newer shows that are equally as engaging as HSDSS, at this moment only Love Between Fairy and Devil and A Journey To Love comes close though still below HSDSS (2019) IMO. https://kisskh.at/22656-heavenly-sword-and-dragon-saber
guys when when when why why why ą«®āɵ̷ļ¹ÉµĢ·Ģ„̄ᷠāį. we left only 12 episodes and i still dont know…
If it ends up being a silly/lame/petty reason behind her hatred, I guess we can say that we all got punk'd šš. Additionally, if the above is the case, that makes her attempts to kill Bai Jiu Si (because of it), even amusingly nonsensical.
FL (to the ML): Once we've dealt with it, I'll tell you about what I've experienced over the past 10 years.
Me: Ok great, but keep that past 10 years story between the 2 of yous or keep it short and simple. No more flashback arcs consuming several episodes please! Spare me the dreadful boring agony! Get on with the present action and romance. There's only less than half episodes left out of the 32, don't burn the remaining on more FLASHBACKS!
Wow 4 more episodes? Sounds like they are revealing synopsis of the upcoming episodes. I think the truth that Si Ling needs to know is long due after 18 episodes, so having a reveal in 4 more episodes (at episode 22) is more than welcomed!
Interesting, yes I did find that heavenly dude in black suspicious! And since there isn't a clear villain revealed yet, he could just be that villain. Perhaps in between a potential future battle, he may slip and reveal what he did and accidentally reveal the truth as well!
Great to know. I think the only one that can clear things up for the main couple is that "Heavenly Dude in Black". Since he knows the truth behind Bai Jiu Si's actions. If he reveals it to Si Ling, then she'll instantly regret her actions and they'll get back together.
Finally caught up to ep 18, waiting for ep 19. The first 18 episodes is basically Romance 40%, Backstory Flashback 30%, Wuxia 30%.
The "romance" is part of the feud between the main couple; I still can't understand the FL actions taken against the ML just because of a misunderstanding. That's straight up gangster. I think their actions (specifically the FL) was written to a nonsensical overly exaggerated extent to make her look like a temperamental Tiger that mauls her foe when provoked even the slightest. It is unusual as well, since most of the time the FL is seen to be the more kind and caring between the 2.
There are several batches of episodes focusing on the character's backstory/past, be prepared for quite an amount of dialogue. At Ep 17 when the 2 men were chatting up at the restaurant, I was half dozing off.
The most exciting and decently paced episodes out of the current 18 released episodes are episode 11 and the first 5 mins of episode 12. After that it becomes as slow as the first 8 episodes, though still sufficiently interesting enough to not quit on this at this point.
Hopefully the flashbacks episodes/arc has ended and from episode 15 onwards it sticks to the present timing! These are just my opinions though, some may prefer a plethora of flashbacks arcs mixed in between present time arcs.
The main highlight of this show is still the opening theme by Bai Lu, followed by the ending theme by Joseph Zeng. I don't skip those as those are gems.
