Western series don't focus on romance. Actually there are very few western romantic series.
Don't get me wrong, i love romance kdramas too. And i know that you are here because of romance.
Take away romance dramas from korean drama industry and 70% of the audience will leave kdramas.

Most k-dramas are rated 12+ 15+ as they are broadcast on TV channels. You can't broadcast 18+ dramas on TV.
