Imo no, he is not 'trash'. He is headstrong and loyal friend. But like every characters in this drama for now he definitely have his shortcamings.

Tbh In my opinion they just started this road, they still need to learn and grow and get to know each other better. Mutual trust and respect cannot grow out of thin air. Little puppy. So she just start to learn how to play one team with him. And she's not one to trust easily.
