I am confused. How are the japanese version and the 2018 version any less toxic? Domyjoji sent out his minions…
You have your right to have your own opinions about this show.I just wanted to point out some things and explain. You also said in your comment that you like the romance between Kavin and Kaning, i also find them soooo adorable together.

Akira (MJ´s character) specifically said to Domyjoji in japanese version "Rape is bad" in which Domyjoji answers:" No,let them have it their way. In "F4 Thailand " Thyme has his limits therefore he punishes those students for trying to rape Gorya.
Also the japanese version of Damyjoji proceeds to beat the crap out of other people whenever his relationship with Makino is failing up to season2.
And we may hate it, but the character of Domyjoji Tsukasa will always originally be assoicated with violence and power until FL tames him and fully accepts his heart.. If we take away the violence from his character the ESSENCE of him will be gone. What makes people love the thai version is because Thyme is so aware of his faults and fully admits it.(unlike the former versions) This version explains his violent emotional outbursts and also gives explanation to why he created the Red Card in the first place, and Thyme really wants to become the best person he can be.He doesn`t change overnight, but he is still changing and he is growing.
Well, to each their own. We all have different opinions, and as for me this is still the best version of F4 besides…
I love F4 Thailand sooooo much i can`t explain it. (though i love this story so much to the core in all versions and the manga) It is so wonderfully done...and just speaks up about sooo many things and all the symbolism that is going on is making me nuts. Bright have portrayed such a lovable replica of the Domyjoji character, adding so much layers and so much depth and eventually becoming Thyme Paramantra! I love Thyme so much!
I am confused. How are the japanese version and the 2018 version any less toxic? Domyjoji sent out his minions to rape Makino in ep 1 and Daoming Si sexually assaults Shancai and even threatens violence on her (he hit the wall, BUT the threat was still there).
Thank you. I was so mad to what F4 Thailand did to Lita character. I hate it that they painted Lita as villaneous…
Then i do agree with us having different opinons about the directional choices made on ep 12. I do not see Lita behaving in a more "nicer" manner towards Gorya & Thyme either if the writers wanted Lita to have another sort of reaction to Thyme`s and Gorya`s relationship.Because this is Lita we are talking about.
We love and want the best for Lita no matter what.

How is she portrayed as a villain? We get to know Lita from ep 9, we get introduced to her loneliness and crave of love and affection. She befriends Gorya and falls for Thyme. Lita is a character that would fight for the guy she loves and we all knew that she would make desperate decisions already on ep 11 to fight for that love. Even when she came to Thyme`s house and demeaned Gorya and lashed out at Thyme- it is soooo CLEAR to us viewers (and Gorya for that matter) that she doesn`t truly want to do any of it. We viewers don`t hate her. We feel SORRY FOR HER and we want the best for her.
The scene where she takes her clothes off isn`t her being evil at all. It is her last attempt to fight for Thyme. Its her saying, "if you don`t love me,then please want me". I mean, i literally cried for her. Even Thyme looked like he wanted to cry. All of us feel so sad for her!
In what way are Thyme & Gorya portrayed angelic???? They are characters with faults as well and they are no better at all than Lita.
I would love to see Gorya's POV regarding how she feels about Thyme. Remember in ep5 when Thyme's confession explaining…
I think the first time Makino/ Gorya character opens up about her feelings for Domyjoji/Thyme character is when she with tears on her eyes opens up about her love to his older sister, it happens in almost all the version. Think it will happen in here to.
So is this exactly like Boys Over Flowers and Meteor Garden?
It has the same story, only in this version its more symbolic and talks more about the issues the former versions never brought up. It has its own original feel to it somehow and it still really pays respect to the former versions.
For those wondering what exactly Thyme was trying to tell Gorya in ep 12 (which sounded messed up due to him not being 100% fluent in thai)
when he said virginity he was actually trying to say "Destiny" and he was after trying to say "Disturb" but it came out like foreplay lastly he was trying to say "Interact" but it came out like conceive

We choose to love him for that.

....LOL. Thyme is just so iconic
Thyme kept the white shirt from when Gorya kicked him in ep 1!!!!!!He didn`t even let the maids clean it!!!!ahhh Thyme!!!You lovesick fool!!!!
*Hua Jai Sila (Heart of Stone)
Thyme`s flower is The Black Rose- it represents death, mourning (black curse) but it also represents rebirth, hope for a better life.
Ren`s character represents the flower White Cutter. It sympolizes purity and innocence as well as everlasting love.
Kavin`s character stands for the flower Hydrangea. The Hydrangea flower represents gratitude, grace and beauty, but also heartlessness.
MJ´s character stands for the Iris flower. The iris symbolizes the meaning of wisdom, hope, trust, and valor.
The notion of star-crossed lovers is soooo romantic!
They have put so many tropes into this story that i get amazed everytime even thinking about it.
