I know some people are frustrated at FL bc they think FL should do more to help/change other people's fate BUT....…
It make more sense if FL didn’t try to save everyone but herself. Story is more believable when FL is not made too heroic. She is reluctant to save ML at first but their fate just intertwined. For all the rebirth story, the main protagonist never want to save the world (because this is not xianxia), they just want to stay alive in the new timeline. So everything FL does (before she felt in love with ML) is to keep herself alive. Which is what I will do if I was given a second chance to live.

I agree with you. Xianxia are fantasy genre and we can't take those too seriously and I can't really relate that much to them. Personally for me, palace harem dramas are 100% sadness and depression, one drama that I still feel bitter about is Ruyi's Royal Love in The Palace.

I understand, some viewers doesn't like too much trauma and angst in the story. But ML has to go through all that, that's how he ended up with grey hair. Maybe you can take a break first and if this drama has a good ending, then you can come back to it.
