For me, I try to keep my PTW list minimal. I'll add asian dramas and movies that look interesting or I have read or heard, they are good.
Then, when I see my list getting longer, I start to delete some of them. I know I might miss out on a good drama or movie, but if the drama or movie doesn't appeal to me in any way like the synopsis, trailer, mv's, etc; I wouldn't watch it.
Like you I get relieved when I delete some of them and see my list shorter. I might later on add them back on my list and watch them, but whatever, I want to watch what I want and enjoy it. My preferences even might chance the more I aged, as what I watched 10 years ago is different from what I want to watch now.
Moreover, my time is limited plus I also watch western movies and series, watch anime, read manga, read books, etc. So I have lots of PTW lists lol. I also have other hobbies and have to work, etc so I can't keep up with everything.
Anyway, I really enjoyed your article. I relate to you a lot ^_^
To be honest, Marmalade boy (Taiwanese drama and Japanese movie) or Devil Beside you (Taiwanese drama) have a much better story in my opinion, Also, it should have been obvious as it was definitely Minato dressed in a high school uniform.
However, I liked this one. It had cliches, but it was cute and fluffy and even with all the lies, misunderstandings, etc, it all ended well. So, you can say it was a light story and a quick watch being a movie.
Btw, watch the ending scenes as we see that Minato and Taru told their parents, moved in together and got married. Anyway, a happy ending.
I thought it would be the usual rom-com office Japanese drama, but it turned out to have some fantasy. Loved it! <3 Although they did not show us exactly, we know that Mio is a mermaid. I love mermaids, the kind ones at least :P
I loved Mio and Rintaro together. They were so cute, lovable, adorable and awesome together <3 I loved their chemistry <3
I loved the rest of the characters like the people at the lab and the employers at Hasuda Trust. I also loved the Hasuda brothers and how they managed to fix their problems ^_^ Also, great acting from all actors.
I also loved the theme of the drama; the sea, its sea creatures and how we all should work hard to take care of it. Especially since the invention of plastic, the sea got really polluted with plastic and microplastics. I love to dive in the summer and it always breaks my heart when I see tiny plastic floating and fish eating it. At the end, we eat fish so we're ruining ourselves as well.
Btw, a happy ending for Mio and Rintaro, as Mio came back after 3 years! xD I'm off to see the special :D
Finished it in 4 hours! I unexpectedly enjoyed it :D
The story went by really fast, but it made sense and had a good flow. Although the plot is nothing new and has many cliches, it was cute, fluffy and light. I enjoyed it ^_^
I loved the main couple together, they were really cute and adorable <3 Great kiss scenes and a happy ending ^_^
Also, the filming format was vertical, it was interesting to watch.
Definitely worth checking it out and it is quick watch :)
I really enjoyed watching this drama, I totally did not expect to love it this much! I have found a hidden gem! <3
Originally, I found this drama while browsing on YouTube about BL dramas and couples. I thought that Mark and Ou Wen were the main couple, but I discovered that they weren't, so I put this drama on the side, but I added this drama to my PTW list.
Finally, after some time passed and I was browsing my PTW list, I randomly decided to watch this and said 'What the heck! I watch it and if I don't like it, then whatever!'
However, with my low expectations, I fell in love with it!
Yes, the story isn't anything original, new or out of this world. However, how the story is presented, how realistic it is, how we get to see work aspects, family issues, couple issues, etc, I really loved it.
I loved seeing about the Love is Science marriage agency Yan Fei runs; what programme she uses, how they match people, how they set up dates, give their clients tips on what to wear, how to show the other person that you're interested in him / her, etc. That was really interesting.
On the other hand, I loved seeing about Wang Hsuan Yu and his work as a hairstylist / hairdresser. How he washes his clients’ hair, how he takes care of their hair, gives them tips, what products to use according to your hair types and condition your hair is in, etc; it was really detailed and interesting.
Although, to be fair the hair products were sponsored, as many times they talked really in detail about the product. However, the writer made it sit well with the script and made sense in context of the story and the situation. (Sorry, GMM Thai dramas! But you make your sponsored products obvious and many times it feels out of place and does not suit the drama).
Also, the story is really slow. To be fair, before I watched this drama, I watched Good Casting (Korean drama) and it was a really fast paced action drama, so when I started this one, I kind of felt stuffy. However, I calmed down and got into the story, lol.
For the couples. I loved Yan Feo and Wang Hsuan Yu. I loved seeing 'how they get together' process. Although it was the usually childhood friends part, I loved seeing the Little Piggy's Love Diary, how as a 10-year-old he fell in love, etc. I loved how they linked their childhood to the present.
Also, it was slow process before they got together. We first see the obstacle that an Fei sees him as a brother / childhood friend and she acts that she is married.
Then, we found out that Wang Hsuan Yu has a girlfriend. I was really shocked! Then, he finally broke up with her, aka she broke up with him. Of course, Yan Fei's ex-husband must appear. Yan Fei is exposed that she is divorced, and we see the struggles Yan Fei went through with her ex-husband. However, in return she made a BFF who helped her get on her feet and helped her open the marriage agency.
Then, her ex is out of the picture and Yan Fei and Wang Hsuan Yu get together. I loved this part. We see their differences, we see their mindset, their lifestyles, etc are different. However, they really worked hard to see their differences and communicate / fight to understand each other.
I loved their ending. They did not need to get married immediately. Maybe someday they will, however enjoying each other's company, enjoying simple moments together, going on dates, eating together, etc can also be what makes you happy in life. Like marriage isn't the answer to a happy life. It can be, but it isn't everything. I really loved that message.
Btw, forgot to mention, they were really cute together, loved their chemistry and their kiss scenes were really cute and fluffy. Made me smile like an idiot xD
Other couples. I loved seeing about Mark and Ou Wen. I loved all their scenes, chemistry, kiss scenes, etc. Of course, I must complain. I wanted more, especially since in this drama, I thought they were the main couple. Anyway, loved them <3
A surprise and unexpected couple. I loved seeing about Cho Nai Hui, the vice president of a bank and an investment expert and Wu You Fu, a farmer. They met through the Love is Science marriage agency. It was interesting to see a couple from the clients' perspective.
They went through ups and downs, and like Yan Fei and Wang Hsuan Yu, they're really different. I thought that they wouldn't work out, but I loved the message that logic, percentages, background, etc isn't everything. The programme did not include a human touch, emotions. feelings, etc.
I loved them together, however I could not see how they will work out, especially since Wu You Fu is a farmer and he cannot leave his land, while Cho Nai Hui is different. However, Cho Nai Hui decided to move with Wu You Fu, and still found her way to still do the work she loves related to investment.
Anyway, I loved other characters, like Wang Hsuan Yu's brother and his wife and children, Yan Fei's mother, Wang Hsuan Yu's 3 aunties clients, Yan Fei's clients, etc.
For me this drama made sense from the beginning till the end. There were no draggy misunderstandings, no extra dramatic moments, no draggy scenes with ex-couples, realistic, good messages, other stuff I liked that I mentioned in the beginning and most important of all, it was not draggy, and I did not skip anything!
Anyway, I wrote a lot, aka definitely watch this drama! It may be not for everyone, but if you want to watch something new related to romance, watch this drama! ^_^
hey, loved your review and watched the drama, can you please recommend me any other BL drama as good as this?…
Thank you for reading ^_^
I don't know if you have watched them yet, but here are some recommendations of BL dramas that I loved either for the story or for the chemistry and kiss scenes. Hope this helps and enjoy xxx
Taiwanese BL dramas = HIStory (web series), Because of You (2020), We Best Love: No. 1 For You (2021), Be Loved in House: I Do (2021), Love is Science? (2021-second leads).
Chinese BL drama = Addicted Heroin (2016) (Since chinese dramas censor BL romance, this drama has the story left in the air, but the kiss scenes and the lead's chemistry are awesome).
Thailand BL dramas = Love by Chance (2018), Together With Me The Series (2017), He's Coming To Me (2019), Theory of Love (2019), TharnType (2019), Until We Meet Again (2019), Why R U? (2020), Manner of Death (2020), A Tale of Thousand Stars (2021), Lovely Writer (2021).
Korean BL dramas = Where Your Eyes Linger (2020), Mr. Heart (2020), Nobleman Ryu's Wedding (2021), Color Rush (2020).
Japanese BL drama = 30-sai made Dotei Da to Mahotsukai ni Nareru rashii (2020).
It has been three years since your comment and here comes my reply. I think it was unexpected twist for those…
I'm on MDL everyday and if someone replies to my comment that means he/she had taken the time to read it and write, so the basic courteous is to reply back. That's what I think anway ^_^
Yeah, I agree that it isn't convincing enough. I forgot about those idioms. We should say he was lazy or did not care to look.
It has been three years since your comment and here comes my reply. I think it was unexpected twist for those…
Thank you for the reply and the explanation. Well, Saburo probably did not know as he did not pay attention in class or he did not care to know about history.
Awesome story and awesome fighting scenes. I loved the characters, great acting, loved the teamwork and sismance.
I loved how we got to go through an emotional ride; I laughed, I cried, I felt sad, felt happy, felt anxious, etc.
I also loved that we had to guess what will happen in every episode, sometimes I guessed and sometimes I did not. For who Michael was, damn I did not guess at all, but I loved that they let us guess before they showed who he was. I loved every minute of it and it was fun to watch ^_^
Furthermore, I thought that there will no romance in this drama at all, and we still got to see little bits near the end. My ships have sailed, and we have 2 couples + kiss scenes! <3
I loved the ending and it shows us that the story has a potential to be continued. Especially since we just got to know about the M meant. I thought it was Michael, an organisation he operated, but the M means Maksim, a Russian organisation apparently. That would be awesome to continue, even a movie would be nice.
Anyway, definitely worth watching this drama. I randomly decided to watch it and I'm glad I did xD
Loved it! <3 It was a light, simple and cute story <3
I loved the cast and characters. Their chemistry and friendship were really great as well ^_^ For the acting, it wasn’t perfect as there were moments where it felt stiff, but it was not bad.
Also, my wish got true and my ship sailed! Woo Tae Kyung and Noh Shin Woo got together! xD They left us hanging and guessing till the end. Moreover, I totally did not expect a kiss scene! Loved it! <3
For the teacher, Mr Seo, I guess he had a lover as well.
I love that Koreans dramas are showing BL romance lately. I’m looking forward to seeing more ^_^
In the beginning I loved the idea of entering a virtual reality. I loved the story and how the story progressed from one thing to another and many times I could not guess what will happen.
I also liked the cast and the characters. For the fighting scenes and the CGI, they are not the best ever, but they were not bad.
However, after episode 30, the story went downhill, got draggy and I did not enjoy it anymore.
I don't know what happened. Maybe since Chun Hua carried out the story with her cheerful, clumsy, goofy, innocent and modern way; it made the story light, hilarious and enjoyable to watch.
However, since she got hurt, betrayed, lied to, used by others, seeing people get killed, etc; she changed. She ended up being serious, crying a lot and in pain. Thus, the story turned all serious.
To be fair, anyone would change if we go through the things she went through. And the story about the longevity nut, although it was interesting at first, it really got draggy, that I lost interest in it as some point.
Moreover, even the relationship between Chun Hua and Shangguan Qiu Yue got really draggy and added in unnecessary drama. Also, calling each other brother and sister dragged too long and got annoying.
Anyway, Chun Hua got her true love since Shangguan Qiu Yue sacrificed himself to save her and made her more of a priority than the martial arts. I don't know the ending kind of felt sad, even though they end up together.
Btw, I wanted to see more of the other couples, but we did not see much. For Xiao Bai, I feel sorry for him, but he chose the martial arts.
Anyway, I still think it’s worth a watch. The end.
I loved learning about the Japanese folklore creatures, monsters, etc. Also, I loved how they applied these Japanese folklore creatures to the present time, while giving really awesome life messages.
It had scary moments, but it was really hilarious as well! xD Also, I loved the characters and the cast were excellent!
For the ending, I loved it! I also had the thought, 'Why does marriage has to solve her problem from becoming a youkai?' Mio really enjoyed being with them, and with her honesty, goodness and seeing the good in everyone, I really thought that she would be an awesome youkai. Also, she did not mind them and did not think of them as scary anymore.
Then, my wish came true! She rejected both marriage proposals and turned into a youkai that goes against the norm of society. A free sprirt! OMG! Loved it!
I recommend anyone to watch it! At first, you may think it's going to be idiotic, but it's really awesome to watch! Plus, it's short! I watched it in 2 days! ^_^
I haven't been that excited over a drama, for a long time!!! I cannot contain my excitement!!! ^_^ <3 ^_^
I liked it. It's wasn't the best ever, but it's not bad.
I liked the characters and cast were great. For the story, I loved the time travelling from 2020 to 1913. I also loved that Khemmachart could meet his past self, Khem without creating a type of paradox or confusing the timeline or something else. That was simple and I liked that they teamed up to catch the villain.
To be honest, the story felt a bit slow and the investigation story, the clues, hints, etc were not that great. Like I could guess immediately, like for example: that Khem's mother got sick because the tea was drugged and the characters would find out like 5 minutes later that it was because of the tea and the villains would like have already gotten rid of the evidence. I'm like; 'Seriously?!' These were moments that made me roll my eyes or laugh at this ridiculous plot.
For the villain, I was disappointed that they told us who was it. Like that was one thing I would not have guessed immediately. At first I thought, it was Pailin, then later on I thought that Ganok may be involved, but then they showed us that it was Bulan. Then, of course you know that everything that happened, the deaths, drugs, etc were because of her doing.
For the ending, I liked that they showed us that they went back, Khem and Pit got together and the Doctor could time travel as well. That was a fun touch. On the whole, it was not bad. I would recommend watching it.
Also, thank you for the recommendations. I have only watched him in Signal and there he was impressive, so I'll look forward to watch his dramas :D
Then, when I see my list getting longer, I start to delete some of them. I know I might miss out on a good drama or movie, but if the drama or movie doesn't appeal to me in any way like the synopsis, trailer, mv's, etc; I wouldn't watch it.
