The first time I saw him was in personal taste and although his character wasn't the best ever, he impressed me and liked him ever since :D I also saw him in Cheongdamdong Alice, Chuno, Sassy Go Go and Another Miss Oh (his character here was the most hilarious! xD)
He's an awesome actor who deserves more lead roles :D I look forward to see his other dramas, especially the latest one Top Star Yoo Baek, I want to see that one ^_^ Nice article btw :D
The story is not that good, it is nothing special and it feels boring and draggy. Even the acting is fake at many times and their expressions and acting looks wrong.
However, despite the acting, I like the lead couple, they are cute together ^_^ That is mostly why I continued watching it.
EDIT;
Finished! It wasn't the best BL story, but it wasn't totally bad. Ok I did not like it for the reasons mentioned above, but I watched it all for curiosity and for the main couple they're so cute ^_^
In terms of story wise, I prefer season 1 when compared to season 2.
Season 2 was interesting in the martial aspects + competitions and interactions between the leads (they were cute and adorable <3) only.
I also liked the rest of the Song Bai Hall family, although I found them kind of useless and they only depended on Bai Cao, the coach and Hu Yi Feng to win. It was actually near the ending of this whole drama that most of them won the competitions. The rest was draggy + I fast forwarded it a lot.
Also, I really hated the beginning where Bai Cao was obsessed with the hair clip Ruo Bai gave her + she linked winning to him coming back, etc but thankfully it ended in 8 episodes.
Also, I hated the part when she blamed herself for Tang Yi's injury and stopped training even though her leg had healed, that part was sad. But she got over the trauma and won the competitions afterwards.
Also, I was kind of reluctant to watch this drama after they changed the actress as I liked the original one, and it took me a while to watch, but I liked this main actress as Bai Cao as well.
Moreover, I liked the main actor, even though it was not Ruo Bai. I kind of knew that Ruo Bai would not appear in the second season, since I heard that the actor did not want to appear again + his character got health problems. Also, at the end of season 1, I assumed he died and that's what they all said in the beginning of season 2.
However, we got lead on that he is alive recovering in America since the guy that Tang Yi loved stayed in America for an important patient. Also, Hu Yi Feng went there and after he came back, he asked Bai Cao what she would do if Ruo Bai is alive, so probably he is still alive. We don't know for sure anyway.
Also, the last 2 episodes were the most useless; not only we got to see lots of flashback but Bai Cao never officially agreed to go out with Chang An (the coach) or told him that she liked him, even after all he has done for her and confessed to her multiple times, uhh! That was most unsatisfying. I really wanted her to him him, yes! She told him that she still has Ruo Bai in her heart! :/
Anyway, the story was not all bad and I don't regret watching it. I finally got to watch it after 3 years and satisfied my curiosity that was stored in the back of my head, as after all this time I wandered about it.
But truthfully, the last 15 episodes, I fast forwarded the most, as it got draggy and annoying at times. So you might like it a lot, might like it average or might not like it at all, so watch it if you want or are curious.
Agree with you, but I even if i don't like a drama that much or I find it so-so, I still watch it with lots of fast forwarding as I'm kind of obsessed to finish it. As I will regret it later or wonder how it would have ended if I drop it.
However, if a drama is boring to death even with lots of fast forwarding, I then finally drop it with no regrets.
It was interesting to see Oh Ji Yeong, other contestants and those people involved to help them win the Miss Korea competition do many things in order their contestant win. We got to see them cry, fight, be happy, sad, be hungry, do many weird exercises, some of them did plastic surgery (I'm glad the main actress didn't), etc. All kinds of emotions. I was happy that Oh Ji Yeong won the Miss Korea competition at the end :D Also, it was nice to see the good and bad sides of the Miss Korea competition, corruption, bribery, sponsors, etc.
Also, I liked the side-stories like about the Vivi company owing money. They did get bankrupt at the end and had to sell their BB cream product, but I'm happy that they did not give up and are now trying to create a lip gloss that goes well with their BB cream (which is now unfortunately under Baba company). The Vivi company faced many obstacles and many were against them, which destroyed them. But now I'm hoping that they will revive with their new product + I'm happy that they thought of their employees and put them first :D
Also, I liked the 1990's part. At first, I did not realize that it was based in the 1990's, I thought it was based more in the 2000's (2013 to be exact). But then, they talked about the problem of employment, also having a job as an elevator girl, mobiles coming in slowing as they are using pagers, etc, made me realize that it is definitely not based in 2013.
I'm currently watching this drama in 2019, so 22 years passed from 1997 till now. Ok 22 years are quite some years, but not a lot of time passed and things changed so much. Well, I was born in 1996 and although I don't remember the pagers, I remember the old mobiles and had ones. Anyway, the point of all this, is that it was nice to remember about my old nokia mobile and sliding LG mobile that had it's screen like a mirror lol + those wide televisions and computers + the tape recorders (I remember using them to record my favourite shows lol :D) And now even CD's are out-dated, cannot believe time passed so quickly, I feel old lol.
Moreover, I like all the cast and characters, very good acting + good chemistry between the leads. I also like the chemistry between the Doctor and the gangster, they're cute as well :3 Also, I like Oh Ji Yeong's family :D
For the songs, I heard English ones, most of them I heard most of my life like barbie girl, macarena, hey mickey, etc. It made me laugh and smile + remember my childhood ^_^
For the downside of this drama. I quite like it generally and enjoyed watching it, however at one point I did put it on hold for 2 weeks and continued it today actually. For me, it got draggy and put it on hold after episode 7.
I had to take a break from it and started to watch other things + I had to fast forward some parts as it felt draggy, especially now in the last 3 episodes. Ok, I'm liking that they are focusing on reviving Vivi company, but I would have felt it complete if they ended it with Oh Ji Yeong winning Miss Korea 1997 competition. For me, 20 eps were too long.
Anyway, it's not bad, I don't regret watching it. I finally decided to watch it after holding it off for 6 years lol. I remember this drama coming out, but I did not want to watch it and although I was kind of right because it did not fully capture my interest, I'm glad I did watch it ^_^ Now off to the last 3 episodes.......
EDIT:
Finished! Great ending :D Their company did well and a happy ending for all couples ^_^
Conclusion:
It was interesting to watch and had great moments like preparing for the beauty pageant, the make-up parts, the work crisis, the couples, the family, etc, but at times it did feel draggy. However, it was not all bad, I recommend to watch this drama :)
100% agree with this article. These are all the reasons why I hate love triangles, especially when they drag on with it + they try to fill the story with it = they ruin the story. Awesome article :D
It's not bad. It's cute, light, hilarious at times and fluffy with a somewhat dark past of the main lead. Also, I am liking the witch theme which was why I wanted to watch it.
However, although there are only 12 episodes, I am finding it draggy and it did not capture my interest that much. I started to fast forward some parts from ep 5 onwards.
And the leads are kind of stiff together. Ok the kisses were good but they have little chemistry.
Anyway, it's not bad just watch it if you want to watch it.
EDIT:
Finished! I liked the ending :D Also, the last 3 episodes wrapped up everything and told us what exactly happened in the kidnapping case of the main lead and there was nothing spooky about it.
Well, the spooky thing was his mother was actually who kidnapped him because her husband was cheating on her. Yeah her husband was a jerk, but it doesn't mean she could use her son to keep her relationship with her husband! He was going to die but he didn't because the witch grandmas saved him.
Also, the good thing is that the main lead accepted the main actress as how she is :D
Also, the main leads got cuter and better at the end + their kisses were great :D
However, the story got story weird. What was supposed to happen with that actress that was treated like dirt, but then after she was photographed with the main lead and spread rumors that she is with a rich guy, everyone was treating her like royalty? We never got to find out. Actually, I totally forgot about her but I read it in a comment and remember lol.
Conclusion:
Anyway, it's not all bad, I did enjoy it but the story got kind of weird and at times did not make sense, but at least the last 3 episodes, it was explained what happened exactly and a happy ending :D
Loved it :D I enjoyed the cases, the characters, the main actress obsession with trains, food and money (she still helped other people and the legal firm needs to keep ongoing with money so that's ok :D), the detective show, how the characters in the team worked together and how they helped other people :D
It was a drama that made me laugh, smile, feel happy, be serious, be sad and learned about trains lol ^_^ It was a fun drama to watch :D
SPOILERS:currently watching and on ep 26......I like it :D It's very light, cute and there are hilarious moments…
SPOILERS:
In the middle of ep 36.....
Ok the whole thing about the drug and Yibei was blamed for Little One's coma came to light finally. Little One did not want Yibei to leave and go to the Asian team and so she drugged his juice, however she felt guilty and did not give it to him.
Meanwhile, she had confessed to him and he rejected her saying that he will always will see her as a friend and a sister. And so since he felt guilty that he could not reciprocate her feelings, he decided to drink the juice. Therefore, a whole misunderstanding and I don't know what the whole thing was about, but it was kind of simple. I expected something worse or something.
Ou Yang Heng and Lin Zi cleared the misunderstanding towards Yibei as well.
Meanwhile, Qi Rui Feng was injured, apparently it was his fault that he did not treat his injury beforehand. He ignored it until it became serious, it's a shame he won't participate in the finals of the dream cup. At least, he and Yang Yang finally got together and shared a kiss :D Although the kiss was not that great, but they're finally together.
Also, Yibei's old injury acted up since just before the competition he went to save Little One from a car accident (she's prone to car accidents + she needs to learn to look left and right before crossing the road) and he hit his leg exactly where his old injury was.
But he will still participate in the competition, so I will look forward to it and see who will win. Is it Ou Yang Heng or Yibei?
EDIT:
Finished! A nice happy ending :D Yibei was chosen for the asian team and will go to America and Yun Dao will go with him and film the whole training :D
For Little One and Ou Yang Heng , she is accepting him or will try, since he told her that he doesn't mind if he waits more for her since he already waited 4 years.
For Lin Zi and Chang Mei, they might get together as he wants her to go to work at his company and she kisses him saying that she wants to go after him and he seems to not mind it.
Ok, we ended up not knowing who won in the finals of the dream cup competition, but probably Yibei won since he was chosen to go to the Asian team and Ou Yang Heng congratulated him for it and he passed the message through Lin Zi.
Conclusion:
Ok I liked the story in general + the sports theme and media / reporting theme. I liked the main couple and the second couple. For the other couples, thought not official, I'm assuming that they will end up together.
Also, the story was very light, the misunderstandings got solved quickly (excluding the one about Little One, that was the only one that took 4 years to resolve), the couples were all cute, there wasn't any particular villain (Lin Zi and Chang Mei were briefly but changed for the better quickly) and I liked all the characters :D
As I mentioned before, one thing was that it got draggy and boring at one point in the story, and I started to fast forward it. But I did not regret watching it, I'm glad I did :D
Btw, I loved the across the pacific song, it's was awesome :D
I agree with you. What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, Splash Splash Love and I'm Not a Robot were feel good dramas that make me smile, happy and feel good :D The other dramas I did not watch them yet so thank you for the recommendations :D
For one of the topic discussion; I usually snack on biscuits but when I really love a drama or I'm liking a scene I usually start eating and then forget them lol :P
I like it :D It's very light, cute and there are hilarious moments and moments that make you smile :) The story is good ^_^
The characters are all nice, likable and adorable. You can say that the 'villain' is Yun Dao's best friend Cheng Mei recently as she got jealous of Yun Dao in terms of work and in terms of love. Also, Lin Zi is also a kind of villain as he is also jealous and getting in the way of Yibei and Yun Dao, as he clearly knows that they both like each other but he is still getting in the way.
In this episode, Yibei and Yun Dao kissed :D Finally, it took them long enough. They clearly fell for each other from the beginning, but with all the misunderstandings, people getting in their way like Yibei's coach and Lin Zi, their status as an athlete and a reporter, Yibei's fans and the media got in they way as well, etc, it took them this long. Anyway, they just kissed and the episode ended so we'll see what they will do next.
Another couple I'm looking forward to are Qi Rui Feng and Yang Yang, they're cute as well ^_^ Qi Rui Feng finally noticed Yang Yang and sees her as a woman, it took him some time as well. We'll see when he will tell her or maybe Yang Yang will tell him first, but I doubt it since he had always told her that she is a tomboy, doesn't sees her as a woman, doesn't look good in a dress, etc. Btw, she did look good in a dress, and he clearly saw that she looked good but he told her not. Anyway, he is getting nervous around her which means he fell for her, so we'll see what will happen.
Moreover, I like the sports parts in this drama. I enjoy watching the swimming team of the South train and compete in competitions against other teams, it's nice :D
The downside of it, is that there is a women swimming team and we see them train in the gym or running and they go to training camps with the men's team, etc. But we never get to see them train in the pool. We only see the men's swimming team practice in the pool, not that I'm complaining but I don't get why we were never shown the women's team or at least Yang Yang in the pool practicing. And only 10 episodes left, so I don't think we will see anything.
Also, I like that apart from the swimming parts, we see the reporters side due to Yun Dao. We get to see the main leads trying hard to achieve their dreams in different sectors, swimming for Yibei and being a reporter for Yun Dao + they face obstacles and they overcome them + the best of all, they fall for each other :D
Also, we found out that Yibei was the one who saved Yun Dao 4 years ago, so they're telling us that it's clear that they are made for each other and destined for each other ^_^
Btw, I also loved the song that is played when Yibei is going to swim in a competition and there is tension whether he will win or not and at the end he swims faster and wins. Something 'across the pacific' which I understand since it's in english. Anway, I loved it such a beautiful song and matches the swimming scenes perfectly :D
Ok I have said all the positive parts. One negative comment is that at times it does get draggy or feels boring. To be truthful I started to fast forward from episode 12 onwards and continued to fast forward up till now.
Ok the competitions parts and when Yibei and Yun Dao appear + when Qi Rui Feng and Yang Yang no but other parts or parts that I don't like that much or feel useless yes.
However, I like the story in general and the characters are likeable and awesome + I'm curious what will happen next + there is the background story about Little One that we haven't seen yet. We only got bits and pieces but still no clear thing about what exactly happened to Little One and why Yibei is like being blamed for it + Lin Zi feels angry that Yibei got to restart his like and Little One didn't, etc. We will see that part later on probably.
He's an awesome actor who deserves more lead roles :D I look forward to see his other dramas, especially the latest one Top Star Yoo Baek, I want to see that one ^_^ Nice article btw :D

I quite like the story :D

I liked the story about the archery as well.
