Okay. Lets defend LBY just a little bit. He had no proof that his "father" killed everyone and the city. It would've been disputed with no evidence. LBY knew this. He also knew that the Emperor is kind and wouldn't execute his "father". He also couldn't prove he wasn't that guys son or he didn't know he couldn't prove it. So his best choice after trying to nail the guy for it was to just kill him. F*** it. He obviously knew what would happen. He also knew that he didn't was SS to be affected by the decision hence doing it on the day before they would be married. I mean they were still arguing about whether to save him from that cliff while he was dying?! SS had to argue for them to rescue him if that doesn't say something.

Now, he still chose it and he stood by it. Hence the heartbreak we witnessed. And again, I respect him. Just as I respected that she broke it off and walked away because of his choice.

I don't blame her because of that. It is within reason for her to be pissed and confused a bit especially while she is recovering but she will have to think out what happened. Anyone who does blame her is crazy to me hahaha. Home girl was drugged by her lover and woke up to death of her friends all around her.

They both share the same enemy, it is foolish of him to think she would stop just because he left her. She will keep going. I would rather have my lover close to me where I can protect them better even if I'm dying than for them to be at a distance we I can't protect them. And even better, I can make sure they hate me in the process so they won't care as much if I die.

I know that but I like clear lines and clear choices made because it makes the story better than being wishy-washy. It's hurts more to tell someone you chose revenge over them, than to say lies or misconstrue the truth.

Had YZJ when he found her told her that he can't be with her and she is better off since his focus is revenge and cleared the arrow bit, I would be okay with it. But he didn't do that. Which I don't think matches his character as well considering he let's his people choose.

He could've said, the camp was ambushed while he was seeking revenge and that everyone died in vain for his revenge. That would've pissed her off. Instead he was like, "whatever". I mean it pissed her off but it left her confused. Now we have to rely on her smart brain but he could've been smart. He knew his words would hurt but he chose the worst words to hurt her? You know what I mean?

BTW, his hand shaking because he wants to kiss her was so freaking CUTE!

The set up for Ling Bu Yi is better and well thought out compared to YZJ. He chose it and he fully abandoned her without a doubt. And his and her character stood on business about it. Damn I need to rewatch Love Like the Galaxy again ~sigh~

Here, I am hoping her brain is working and she treats him with a cold severity. He can earn his way back up for all I care. But lets all not kid ourselves, if we were in her shoes, we would be PISSED.

As long as Duan Wu suspects the truth of what happened and only is against Zi JIng for his abandonment, I don't mind it. However if she completely buys the ridiculousness of what happened, that would be annoying and goes against her character.

I think we are all still hung up on why she took 1 year off and we still don't know exactly what lead up to her quitting and the fiance situation. Also why did she run off to the USA? Also...I am confused about something, in the second episode near the end, she gets up with a mail package early in the morning to send something...what was it she sent?

My theory for the 1 year is that she was sick with a tumor or something...( her friend comment how skinny she got) OR her fiance was sick and she took care of him. I really don't think it is a miscarriage like other said. I really hope they don't drag it out any further and by the end of 5 we know everything about it.

It seems like she always has to be the strong one and could never show that she is exhausted, weak, or even cry (as the scene showed with the male lead when she tried to just laugh it all off after fighting with her mother). I could relate to this, and in fact I maybe worst than the FL because I would just prefer to continue to suffer in silence. I also think, she blames herself as well so she said it to just take the hate that she feels she deserves.

When her mother was ashamed of her, that hurt her because up-until this point, FL has been nothing but the perfect daughter. One of the first things she ever purchased was for her mother. So it hear that, hurt so much. She at least believed her mother would still love her regardless of this problem.

And honestly, if you really look at it. Her parents do not actually believe she cheated on the fiance. The dad said as much when he said that he knew his daughter well enough to know she wouldn't do that. The friends also don't believe it either. The parents are just anxious especially mom who has her own set of problems as an individual.

Glad to read your views on the drama! I rated it way higher. I think Gu Tingye attitude was not necessarily modern but coming from jealousy that she is not obsessed with him as he is with her and two, not talking to him, she let those other people in when she knew how to handle them, and lastly because he is still very mistrustful of people getting close like that. But I do get annoyed with them modernizing men's views in drama The writers did change him up from the book version. But he is definitely not my favorite guy. What I enjoyed the most about this drama was Minglan. She is just such a beautiful character and I adored when her sisterhood developed.

Fun article that makes me go down memory lane. I don't think there was many things I was shocked by as I've always been exposed to different cultures and my own two cultures has their own mixes.

I think I was mostly just angry about some things I learned to be true. Like Japan and Korea's legal system and how lenient it can be with certain crimes or the level of loopholes. Not that I'm not pissed and criticize other legal systems including the one I mostly deal with but there were real life cases with solid evidence that really pissed me off.

Setting that aside, I am most annoyed with the obsession with looks (to a high level it matters), how quick someone revers someone's status, and how strictly hierarchical it can be (even with a 1 year difference in age). That kind of stuff felt suffocating and seems from hearing from people from those countries that they can't stand it either.
