I watched 10 minutes of the ending and was like .....WTH. I refused to watch any more. The best thing out of this drama other than watching the beginning with Zhu Yi Long was the fandom.
I'm going back to Go Ahead also. This screenwriter is an idiot.
I loving the stories of all three women so much right now (after a couple of mini heart attacks when I thought…
I think that I've found drama soulmates and that makes me unbelievably happy.
I'll have to try "Love Affairs in the Afternoon". When I was in school, there was very, very little about Asian history other than Genghis Khan. When I started watching historical Asian dramas with multiple wives, I did a big "whoa". Being a female and knowing the very complicated emotions and reasoning that go through my brain, I couldn't imagine multiple wife situations where they were expected to get along all the while vying for attention. I watched the last 10 episodes of "Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace" and then researched it via Google to see the reality of the situation. After reading about it in a historical sense, my heart dropped to see that it was a realistic depiction of her life (as much as dramas allow). So very, very sad but then I viewed from a western historical perspective and realized multiple wives were called mistresses back then. Yeah, cheating and being low life seemed to be acceptable trait in the past.
By the way, "V.I.P." brought out emotions in me I didn't even know I had and will never, ever re-watch it. A one time pass really did me in.
I cannot wait for the finale of this show and see where the three ladies land. I also need to watch the other drama Zhu Yi Long is currently in to burn Yi Ming out of my brain. This actor takes a part and tricks my head into believing that it's him. A true gift as an actor, a temporary curse as a viewer.
NO, am pretty sure that's not it. That will be an exaggerated plot twist lol. For the hypocrite he is, he has…
I'll start watching it today and now I can't wait.
"Go Ahead" - I gave it a 10. It had everything and I think I've re-watched it about 3 times. Any time there is great and realistic writing, humor, sorrow and acting that is unbelievably good, it's like witnessing a miracle that I get to watch multiple times.

I'm enjoying this almost equal to the drama itself. You have a true incite into the characters and story.
The writer has tortured Si Yu for her ambition and in my opinion, to maximum penalty. She's lost everything and was given the understanding that her unyielding business drive had her lose the love of a lifetime. I truly want her to walk to the bank with billions for a business risk no one else dared, move into an apartment with Zhai Zi Lu that has a window straight across from toxic CEO and Yi Ming love nest, and Si Yu and her boy toy have jungle love every freaking evening at that window where Yi Ming can watch without a telescope. His character's actions are unforgivable to this viewer. My fear? Si Yu and YM will become friendly business partners with the possibility of more. She deserves better, he deserves a boomerang hitting and sticking up his butt for a lifetime of discomfort.
XL deserves the comfort and security that has been a lifetime of being slightly out of reach and hopefully she ends up with Mr Robot and the quintuplets. She needs a home with love and I think he is the only male that truly loves her. My fear? Her forever after is with Lei Hao Wen, the pursuer with no true limit. I think this would be an unhappy and potentially discomforting end.
ZZ - I would love to have the final scene of her as an independent and successful businesswoman who returns home to her posh apartment where her very grown daughter announces she's been accepted as the leading neurologist at a prestigious hospital and her fiancé and she are getting married in June. All while ZZ sips on a very expensive glass of wine, slightly and confidently smiling. I like this character's flash of independence and would love to see contentment added to the mix. Alone but never, ever lonely or belittled again. My fear? She and dip$hit end up remarried. He might deserve a redemption arc but he's never, ever to regain the precious person lost.

I love XL and she's probably my favorite character amongst the three women, and also the one who frustrates me the most. She's centered on what she believes has value and that's wealth, and possessions. But, she is also a very loyal friend, confidant, and support system to the other two women without viewing the cost. Which also lets me know that monetary things are truly not what she's after... she wants comfort and acceptance.
Mr Robot is my favorite for her in this drama. He's scheduled, definitive and wants a family. I'd love for his aftermath to be quintuplets who are running around the house, totally terrorizing all family members while he tries to read the newspaper. I absolutely melted when he showed his vulnerability in truly wanting XL. She isn't a schedule or a asset, she's his love and he is willing to try to bend and flex in order to be what she wants.
As far as HW for her, I think he believes he loves her but doesn't. He's a pursuer by nature and she's the ultimate fun to drive racecar that is just beyond his price range. I can imagine the proverbial dog, chasing the car down the road until the car stops. When he catches up with it, it's a stance of scratching his head, wondering why he wanted to chase it in the first place.

Oh my gosh! I'm in blog heaven right now.
I was the recipient of an affair and after finding it out, we divorced a year later and that's why these storylines touch a very sensitive chord. Six years later, I'm much stronger and better off but the journey to finding this felt like traveling a road with land mines, briars and a few bazooka's. Eventually, it led to me becoming a better and much more resilient version of myself.
There was also a very brilliant Korean drama called V.I.P which dealt with infidelity and the aftermath. I watched it ten minutes at a time and walked away. The male lead actor in this, Lee Sang Yoon, seems to be a buttercup in real life but he nailed this role to perfection. A lot of criticism came his way for being "wooden" in his portrayal but watching it was like viewing my past in a mirror. His character slowly revealed his weaknesses, the betrayal, and his resignation to deal with the outcome. A truly brilliant portrayal that ended *spoiler alert* with the couple parting ways.
I loved your analogy of the fence....it's still a border structure but the repairs are visible even under paint and patches. The actress who plays ZZ is really, really good. In her facial expressions, there's pain, resignation, stubbornness and strength. I also agree that if they get back together, that in itself is another road travelled with both participants dealing with the same but different people.
Chinese dramas that deal with real issues do something I've rarely seen in American tv.....they throw in the nasty details of the aftermath and this one has slowly started to reveal repercussions. Most real life endings, in reality, do not bear the closure of the romantic. Just the resolution.

I love this back an forth and thank you for that.
I've been a real life witness to people like Liu Yang just about every year of my adult life. Did they learn from their mistakes? Uh, no. What infidelity boils down to in most situations is an escape route from responsibility. He's not responsible enough to sit down with his wife and talk out very distinct problems. Instead, he misses the "excitement" of the chase, the thrill at the beginning of a new relationship. The spouse left behind is humiliated and questions their own self worth which is exactly what happened in this drama. I'm glad they are showing a growth arc for Liu Yang but they need to give ZZ a sweet ending after a bitter betrayal. I agree wholeheartedly that this should not be another, "oh, we misunderstood each other and want our family". After infidelity, the family dynamic changes and the real story is what happens to each shattered unit afterward.

I love the series and the story playout but really have to take this in small doses. I see Yi Ming as a betrayer (and shoutout to Zhu Yi Long's acting ability because he blurs the viewer reality lines). His character was always one of weakness and even though Si Yu had her flaws, he still betrayed her as a person, partner and lover even after they were no longer together. I would hate and probably throw a few things if she ended up with him because it would give credence to "it's okay, we all make mistakes and all is forgiven" ending. I'd love to see Si Yu walk her high dollar red stiletto's right past both YM and toxic CEO on her way to the bank with billions. That would be my favorite ending.
LOVED episode 11. The acting in this thing is so freaking solid and I really liked the very subtle question that was quietly asked and that is what constitutes a father.
NO, am pretty sure that's not it. That will be an exaggerated plot twist lol. For the hypocrite he is, he has…
I laughed out loud on this one! Thank you for that.
I've wondered about starting Reunion and now I'm convinced to put it on my watch list. I love him as an actor and because he's that good, it's hard for me to watch his scenes in this drama. I have wondered if I would run over Ms. Witch first or his wimpy greedy character. It's a drama dilemma.
Okey....I'm trying to figure out if I should watch this drama. But the comments here are so diverse. Damn...?…
I loved it and yeah, the opinions are usually pretty diverse on any given drama. Seo Hyun Jin and Eric Mun's chemistry is way off the charts and I literally fell on the floor laughing in a couple of Kim Ji Suk's scenes. It's one of my go-to's when I'm in a show-hole looking for entertainment.
The Good: Lee Dong Wook is absolute perfection in any character and this one is no exception. He's riveting in any part and I'm enjoying every single moment of his screen time. The Notsogood: I'm not feeling any chemistry with the female lead, especially compared to when he played opposite Yoo In Na (Goblin, Touch Your Heart). Just my opinion only (please, no haters), but I love it when couple chemistry grabs the screen and as of episode 2, I don't feel it.
I've noticed two trends in comments1) people are confused (and annoyed) by the exploration of time travel, or…
I read a fictional novel about time travel (I love this stuff) that made my head spin because of all the multi-verses that were created. I loved the concept but had to quit at the second book in the series because I couldn't figure out which main character version I was reading about. I think one of my main draws to this is the lead actor.....he really understands the character well.
I find the drama has been fairly even-handed wrt to most of the flaws/virtues of the mains so far. (Yes, even…
I've been around characters like ZZ in a real life business world setting. They are brilliant, conniving, manipulative but it took less than 2 years for them to fall to the ground and either be transferred to a lesser position or fired. Sometimes the "lesser" person they step on is the one who becomes their boss. I always smirked when that happened.
Zhu Yi Long was the fandom.
