On Master in the House Mar 15, 2020
I watched episode 111 without English subs and really with very little understanding of the dialogue and still had tears streaming down. Each one of the four original members had a separate strength that really pulled the show together. I wish each member well in their endeavors but my hat tips to Lee Sang Yoon and Yook Sung Jae in their last episode. Lee Sang Yoon lent a quiet knowledge and encouragement and Yook Sung Jae represented youth in exuberance. I'm not one for variety shows (at all), but this one has taught me a great deal and showed me laughter while learning. A job very well done to all, but especially to the two who are leaving to travel a separate road. You will be missed.

But in the end he was the only one who still needed her. Nobody else did.
LOL! Love this comment.

Also she never actually loved him, he was just the final goal of her fairytale, and she can't even see that
Soo Ah reminds me of a person who bets one dollar expecting a thousand dollar return. I've really had it out for this character and thankfully, Yi Seo pointed out the reason why: she's self centered. All of her bets were placed to make sure her life ended up with whatever she wanted when she wanted it. Funny thing about people is affections can change and she was arrogant enough to think that would never happen.

Despite its flaws, Itaewon Class is the most addictive drama I am watching these days!
Waiting for episode 15 and 16.....longest.....week.......ever.

"saeroyi is boring" "yiseo is an ass" "sooah is contradictory"yeah guys, in real life there are people like thatdeal…
Well said! I would think the hardest thing, for a writer, is to write flawed characters and that is the very exact thing I love about this drama. Along with the acting.
I've disliked the character of Soo Ah since she appeared on the screen. The scene in episode 13 between her and Yi Seo finally explained why I find the character so annoying....she's overwhelmingly self centered. The moment of back and forth conversation between the two was truly riveting because it displayed the strength of Yi Seo (her ability to shine a truth on a person's true character) and the weakness of Soo Ah (her overwhelming self interest). Kudos to both actresses for bringing this plot point to life.
Geun Soo is another one that fascinates me. His motivation is to free Soo Ah from a perceived one sided relationship is at the sometime cost of his decency. The actor brings it to the screen every single time in the defiance of Ro Yi's luke warm attachment to Yi Seo and it will be interesting to see where his character goes with this.

There was no Dr. Romantic that was sweeping the ratings, next week comes a couple of new dramas and I think that…
Seo Kang Joon is one of my favorite actors, so I'll keep coming back to this each week just to watch him do his craft. He and Park Min Young are so well versed in their acting ability, they can have a tendency to "overwhelm" another actor that isn't quite up to par. One of my favorite shows with Kang Joon was "Watchers" from 2019. Although there is no romance, the back and forth reactions between him and Seok Kyu (Romantic Dr. Kim) was riveting.

Episode 11 of this drama was riveting in every aspect. A game of "truth or dare" over alcohol is a very bad idea but especially when there is a truth to protect. The characters in this scene are portrayed with an honest pen; no one is completely good, bad or indifferent to their circumstances and the repercussions from honest emotions being tossed on the table was acted and written with clever intelligence and a rare treat to this viewer.

Best acting in this episode: it's a tie between Kim Da Mi (Yi Seo) and Kim Dong Hee (Geun Soo). I've never thought Yi Seo as a psychopathic character, just tired. With a higher IQ comes the statistics behind the reaction to an action; she's rarely wrong in guessing which way human nature will choose and this led to boredom. Along comes Ro Yi who doesn't play the odds but lives by a moral code that seems unshakable. She's smitten. Her acting with the Truth or Dare game and the consequences brought to the table was brilliant and realistic. Geun Soo, on the other hand, was someone who ran from his very nature and has now embraced the side of himself he hid from. The subtlety within Kim Dong Hee's acting to show his choices was yelled with disquiet eye movement. He's no longer willing to be vulnerable and second best.

I'm looking forward, once again, to the next episode to see where the lines are drawn between sometimes friends and enemies. Of all the characters, I thought Ro Yi was the one who never lied to others but I believe wholeheartedly, he lied to himself. He needs Yi Seo more than anyone else on his team and that meant limited clarification towards their relationship. Now that curtain has been torn down, I'm wondering which way their story will progress.

Well done, cast, crew and writers for Itaewon Class. Very well done.

I love this drama because it doesn't shy away from character confrontations (except for the lack thereof between Ro Yi and Soo Ah, which makes zero sense). I can't wait for episode 8 to see the aftermath of Ro Yi Vs. Yi Seo dialogue. She is someone I'd want on my side at all cost.

I disagree with the people saying that there should be romance between NaNa and RooMi. There's so much distrust…
The chemistry between the actresses portraying NaNa and RooMi is unlike anything I've seen before in any drama and I can definitely see where people would ship them. I agree with you that their bond has been fractured by betrayal and their relationship will be different but never the same with each other.
DanHee is the absolute bomb! If he were true to life, I'd superglue myself to his arm and dare anyone to pull me off.

Great article! I thought this drama was good but with the still picture above, I'm ready for Johnny Bai in "The Fated General". I think his brand of acting will fit well in a historical drama.

Title Find Yourself Spoiler
Watching episode 35. He Fanxing and Song Xue are having such a cold blooded conversation about HF marrying YL.…
As of episode 34, I was over watching this until the writing gets better. To me, Fan Xing tolerates Ye Lu Ming and then the story line switches from her being innocent in dating to wanting someone she's "compatible with". If they were going to try this scenario, Yuan Song should also be genuinely moving on with love interest more his age. Instead, they have him pining for someone who shows, in my mind, zero emotional recognition and very little charisma. Very frustrating.

In China, Jaycee Chan (Jackie Chan's son) spent 148 days of detention time (waiting for his trial), was fined 2,000 yuan and spent six months in prison for having 3 ounces of marijuana in his apartment. I am extremely ignorant of Asian policies on drugs but verdicts such as these let me know that they have a low tolerance for drug problems. Since rehab was not even an option in Erika Sawajiri's case, I wonder how easy it is to get substance abuse help.

It's a rare find, for me, to watch an ensemble show where I care about the secondary characters as much as the main story line. The family scenes with He Fan Xing, He Can Yang and their parents are priceless and I can't count the amount of times I've laughed out loud. The tangled love lives of the siblings are also quite believable and I look forward to watching this unfold. The development of the friend's cheating husband caught me because the aftermath options were laid out in realism. I found myself yelling "but that's not fair" at the screen which means the writers and actors are doing a phenomenal job. I love this drama, bravo to the cast and crew.

Kim Da Mi is one of the few actresses I've seen that can hold her own with Park Seo Joon. His acting is flawless but when partnered with her, it's magic.

Omg I take it back!!!! I disliked NaNa so much thinking she would be that type of whiny damsel but boy what a…
Most dramas have two women fighting over a guy with the one dimensional evil female losing out in the end. "XX" has a betrayal of a friendship and the story seems to evolve from that moment to reconciling their loss. The two women, when they bicker, it's done with intelligent dialogue and acting rather than leaning on the usual formula of "oh, she will be a better person with better choices if I keep being nice to her." I loved the conflicted determination of Na Na to not turn away even though she had every right to do so.

I hated her already lmao
I really hope there is no redeeming arc written for this character. She chose a crappy lane to drive in and I can't wait to see the car wreck with her in it.
