I could spoil it for you but I'm nice and won't...;)
Oh, hehehe, I loved how they connected the white dude Henry Cox between M9 and Lost Tomb 2 ;) Don't worry, I'm sure Wu Xie will learn sooner or later and there are enough bad ass people who aren't as naive XD

Hahaha, ok ok, I'll spoil. So, Fo Ye is actually dead, they mention it in Tomb of the Sea I think but I do believe he had a nice life (in my imagination at least ^.^) Uncle Three...hmmm, he's definitely not a total bad guy but he does have some of his priorities messed up. He does care about Wu Xie but I think he kind of got screwed by all the treasure hunting and tomb raiding. I haven't continued reading the novels yet, so I cannot tell you the ending of this mistrust towards Uncle Three. It's there for a reason though, so don't take him as the good guy just yet. Lao Yang...oh, yeah, now I remember who he is...Lao Yang is...complicated? He's got a secret agenda but deep down in his heart he is a good guy. Don't get too attached to him though...T.T And no, Wu Xie does not stay as naive all the time. He's naive in like TLT1 and 2 but as you see in Tomb of The Sea, he gets stronger and less naive over time. I'm curious how they portray him in The Lost Tomb 3 ;) I hope I could help/spoil, if you got any more questions, feel free to ask ^.^
u don't understand, dubbing is just a Chinese trend and there's reasons why dubbing exist and in China the voice…
I only mentioned dubbing since a lot of people seem to have a problem with it...it doesn't really have anything to do with the dramas mentioned here....
I have watched Mystic Nine and liked it considerably and also given a shot at Tomb of the Sea but stopped due…
Tomb of the Sea is only fully subbed on WeTV. Believe me I searched a lot for it too to finally find full subs ^.^ Thanks so much for reading. I hope you have fun with the others too!
Have you ever watched a Chinese or other drama set in the 1930s or so? If no, I recommend starting with The Lost…
For The Lost Tomb, Wu Xie is still naive and has to learn that's why he's saved a lot. If you start with The Mystic Nine, you have a male lead that does pretty well on his own, if you prefer that ^.^
Thank you for this amazing and so helpful post!!! I was so confused and this really helped clarify things. Do…
You don't have to watch The Lost Tomb Pilot. It's not necessary to understand anything ^.^ The side stories are mostly about side characters or side stories to explore more about specific characters. There are some for The Mystic Nine and Tomb Of The Sea. TMN ones I found under The Mystic Nine Tetralogy on viki with all four movies put as 4 episodes. The Tomb of the Sea ones I haven't found yet, unfortunately...Have fun watching :)
I want to get started on this series after doing a lot of thinking xD Can you recommend whether I should start…

Thank you for the informative article! I watched few episodes of the 2015 version, but I found it rather draggy..(same…
Since I do recommend starting with specific ones, I would recommend trying out The Lost Tomb 1 again. All of these dramas are draggy for like 2-3 episodes since they need to build the base and then the story pace picks up. They do slow down sometimes with a few mysteries but The Lost Tomb 2 has a lot of funny and good scenes keeping you entertained. Or if you don't have a problem with a drama set in the past, The Mystic Nine is quite good.
