Not to add more speculation but Ren Min did say 后面开始欢天喜地了 [Hòumiàn kāishǐ huāntiānxǐdì le] in a video posted on the official drama account's weibo under a hashtag #YuGuYaoZhuYanspoilsthefinale. I saw the clip last week but I did not know even the official drama account shared the same video and added subtitles to increase the clip's exposure therefore setting certain expectations. Take this info as you will we are still at the show's mercy anything can happen despite novel fans' speculation. Idk if the drama account is THAT MEAN to pit all the blame on the female lead for potentially misleading the fans with her reply by acknowledging the contents in spoiler hashtag
31-32 being the powder keg for even more unfortunate events and misunderstandings to come hahahhaha good ol xianxia tropes... since fast track is coming out today I will be avoiding this page until VIP reaches ep 40 on the 20th because I'm not giving Tencent anymore money and my heart cant take more than 2 eps a day. Have fun guys people are probably gonna skip to the ending right away and share it ✌️
Anyone else kinda surprised that the Emperor was willing to listen and agree with the evidence Shi Ying presented to the royal court about Azure King's collusion with the Ice Clan? Does this mean he can be a fair leader if the time calls for it...I thought Shi Ying's defiance in ep 28 would have stuck to him but thank god that guy finally got exposed.
Ep 30 now we know the identity of the sage. He is the Lang gan, emperor xingzu. I was shocked why did he lets…
Definitely to let his guard down especially with that sob story. Sadly only the viewer can see he transferred part of his soul to the bird nearby so it aint over yet.
question: how popular is this series in China? In terms of passerbys who are not fans of the ML. Just curious.…
XZ has shown that he is an actor who chooses a project if the story and character moves him, so he's not just relying on the success of a genre as a decision factor. It all depends on his what he wishes to try out and what script he comes upon. As fans we just gotta wish him well in what he chooses because he will always do his best
OMIGODDDDDD let me tell you guys I took the longest time to finish episode 28 because I was so stuck on XZ's acting for that long shot take after the emperor asks Shi Ying to repay his kindness. There was something new to discover in every replay, it was just pure 20 seconds of him unblinking and with the way he breathed or subtlety moved his mouth and eyes you could tell that Shi Ying's 20 years of life were flashing in his mind struggling to find any moments of this "kindness" the emperor spoke of. God I was stuck there for so long. NOT TO MENTION how there was no light reflected in his eyes at all as the camera zoomed out and zoomed in. TOP 5 MOMENTS RIGHT THERE.
It must have been hard for him to relive the injustice and suffering he went through as Zhu Yan spoke the truth-- that was truly a therapeutic moment for them who had no say in the matter all those years ago and the audience as well.
hahahah I know I will buy this, I can’t wait anymore😂
I feel like i take 5 hours to get through one episode because I'm constantly pausing and replaying scenes and screaming with friends. Dont know how I would be able to do 35-40 on a weekday

No problem, it's not easy to predict how a drama wants to tell the romance story and sometimes they throw us off completely but I like this one for being logical with the restraints they placed on the leads

Have you seen The Untamed? It takes 33/50 episodes to get back to present time, unrelated though haha some stories be like that.
At least with this story set up it makes sense why there can't be romance so early on since they start off as master/disciple who started off on bad terms AND Shi Ying has been dedicated to priesthood since his palace escape. Can't forget she's also his calamity so he had to stay wary. It's gonna have to take alooootttttt to get him to finally act on his feelings unfortunately for those who want earlier romance. He's also going to lose his lifelong cultivation powers it's definitely not an easy decision for a once in a lifetime talent like him to make. Ep 24-26 was definitely them working out the kinks with both of their inner turmoil and they only just reunited so I would not expect the romance to start right away either. It is only because his cultivation got disrupted that Zhu Yan had the chance to show she can be somewhat his equal. I'm sure their romance is gonna be push and pull for a long time with the nature of this genre and set up they have. Don't know when we'll ever see the couple carefree and happy in love but at least the story has given me reasons why things have to be this way. I would be confused if there wasn't any resistance in the last few eps.
Can someone explain to me what Chong Ming meant at the mountain scene, "good thing I was here or else Shi Ying would have blown his cover" ? He was the one doing that firefly display right...
Pretty funny to see Shi Ying be the "lesser" skilled cultivator this time to shift their original master/ disciple dynamics once again. Could this have been a callback to the snarky one-liner "Advanced skills does make a person superior" he said when he left her stuck in the tent to study? 😂The shock and frustration he must have felt when she used the same barrier trick on him. What were you expecting when you left her with a magic spell manual Shi Ying of course she'll go wild with it.
He’s actually quite a cold character, he’s not perfect. He can kill anyone who he thinks will bring harm without…
Love that his imperfections work out with his character because he has been detached from mortal affairs for so long that he tackles issues with logic and practicality so it is Zhu Yan who has widened his perspective on human nature more than ever before.
exactly...he's inconsistent and really can't make up his mind. his resolution in keeping himself away from zhu…
Gotta remember that DSM also wants him to give up his priesthood and he's already prepared a handy potion to help him survive so he's definitely anticipating him to hurry up and act on his feelings like the viewers are.
25-26 were such a good breather with a mix of comedy, emotional development and cool action sequences. Storywise we got more insight on the Merfolk who just cant catch any breaks because you either have KongSang people or their own kind harvesting their parts that's so tragic. The Sage is moving on with his plans by inciting the Marine Force and the Qing Clan on separate occasions. The Zhi Yuan Shi Ying tag battle was awesome and I can't wait for the reunion in episode 27 when more tension rises between them when both of them want to be best boy.
The highlight of the two episodes of course is the main couple interacting once again and I like that the show doesn't seem to waste too much time in developing their relationship. I liked how the story gave them both their own reasons to both be at Xia City at the same time to remind us that they are still destined to cross paths. Shi Ying's cultivation being nerfed was a good opportunity to show that Zhu Yan can step up as the disciple, especially since she knows alot more about navigating the mortal world than he ever would. Idc if her antics were silly but seeing Shi Ying enter panic mode around her never gets old. GO FURTHER YOU WILL DIE lol. Zhu Yan proving to be useful with her foolproof plan being their best bet into entering Xia City because I don't see Shi Ying coming up with a quick plan like that when his attire gives away his identity and he's currently wanted by the Merfolk. The new braided hairstyle looked so good with the red robes did anyone else keep pausing to appreciate this look?? I've been waiting to see it on screen ever since the leaks years back were out.
Really felt Zhu Yan's growth when she interrogated him at the table with the way she used the values and principles he imparted on her since they first met to tell him that they shouldn't be worried about feeling indebted or not. I feel like his reluctance to be indebted to her comes from the protective Shifu role he's used to playing in her life--must feel weird for a powerful official like him to suddenly need to rely on their student whom they also have confusing feelings for ya know. He's such a mess but he needs to be told it's okay to be helped to knock him down that pedestal a bit. This conversation really pays off later in one of my favorite moments when he risked his safety to have her be the one to deliver that arrow attack during his diversion. This moment was a sign that he trusts her strength and quick thinking which means they are starting to become equals and I love this for them. Who would have known that when he told her in ep 24 she was alot stronger than she thinks it would come back full circle in these two episodes. I'm also glad that he told her about his mission to track down the Sea Emperor using the evil star as a guide according to the prophecy because that's a step up from the times she's been left in the dark which leads to her accidentally creating problems.

I just remembered the healer told Shi Ying that no priest has ever survived the tribulation in 100 years. That has gotta be another point for him to consider now lol but I guess that does add weight to his imminent decision to go through hell for her.
