Like I said, they only talked about how C-netz seems to criticizing this drama about the rating, about the rumor about ML's actor being racist or every "controversy" this drama got. Nowhere here it say that in fact, this drama is still a huge success and probably one of the biggest for 2026. They even included that it was successful "abroad" - like it was in contrast not so successful in mainland China.

I think the issue here is that it's quite biased. While yes, some C-netz complain - like they always do especially for historical dramas, this article make it seems like it was a general consensus when in fact, this drama is still very popular in Mainland China.

I personally liked "Can This Love be Translated". The ending is a bit... underwhelming but mostly because the first part is very strong and the writers made the ending more "complicated" that it was necessary. Nothing too serious but it was a bit of a shame. ^^

You can definitely try the first few episode at least I would say to make your own opinion.

The issue arrive as soon SML is on screen. We tolerated him for 1 or 2 episodes but at episode 5-6 peoples were already sick of him. Like if he was an antagonist or funny or... ANYTHING, maybe this could have "worked" but he is the blandest ML you can get. Nice, overly supportive of FL and yes, we could call him a simp. I mean the guys literally waited for her all his life for no reason (I don't see FL being that unforgettable & their past history isn't that memorable either...)

Preferred "Positively Yours" just by the fact that it didn't make me drop it at least. I abandoned this one at ep. 9. SML was still around stirring the pot & I was just bored of it.

The worse part is that I was really hyped for both drama as I just love romance with children/babies BUT in both they were just aftertaste...

Ngl, this dude that keep foreshadowing a big fire with his line "The weather is dry! Be wary of fire!" is just a tease at this point! :P

Usually, it happen right when someone say it in drama but with him it doesn't seem to follow this pattern. To the point that when I will lower my guard, it will freaking happen I'm 100% sure! :D

Not sure who was the target for this. It's basically soft porn (as they just mimic the act) but censored like it was an actual porn. They used heavy pixel instead of cleverly hiding the "private part" with camera angle or prop. And I don't see that as a "spicy" BL because... Well, the plot is very very limited. In the end, it's just a Kamasutra showcase.

If what I describe spike your interest, by all mean, watch it. But personally, it wasn't for me.

A really fun watch. The FL was very charming and it wouldn't have worked without her I think, so kuddo to the actress!

Like I said, it's probably guilt. He had years of abuse from the peoples that would normally protect him. He made a very hard decision when nobody was here for him. He hoped for the best but it never came. Then, it was too late. He would need to tell everything to him then and he didn't want to for various reason. Sometime ignorance is a bliss. And he probably didn't want to reopen his old wound.

I don't know the reason you heard but without spoiling too much the older brother as kid was in the shitiest situation possible and every adults abandoned him to his fate. So yeah, he did what he did to protect his younger brother. And even later, the guilt made him unable to mend his relationship with him. It's truly a heartbreaking story.

Just saying, the older brother has been redeemed.

Like someone said previously, this have two main couples. So neither of them is supporting the others, they are both equally important. That being said, I will not comment on the chemistry, it's a highly subjective subject. Personally I also think they don't give firework level of chemistry but it isn't at 0 but to each their own. But, I mainly enjoy the show because of the story, as It's entertaining so far.

Very good. The sister trio is heartwarming & hilarious. The Grandma is epic, she is so "The Devil Wears Prada" coded. And their respective MLs are so fine. ML have the most contagious smile ever. Potential ML of the middle sister is so goofy. And the one of the younger sister is such a sweetheart.

But what make this even more appealing for me it's the complete absence of the El Famoso "Love Triangle" so far. Such a breath of fresh air... :P

It's a bit over dramatic. Yes, he tried to earn some pity point for some reason. It's like the "faking to be ill" troop to gain interest from their crush. Yes, it's bad. No, I wouldn't recommend to use it IRL. But it's "cute" in drama. Also, I'm not sure who was his target at this point: Yang Meng or to relinquish his tarnished reputation - maybe both ?

And just to be clear, he wasn't the one responsible for the lost girl - the only thing that I would completely agree that it would be crossing the line.

But I also understand Yang Meng. He is right to be mad and confused to what was true or not. That being said, I don't see their relationship be doomed just because of that. He probably just need time to process - and probably the Grandma & Dad will help sorting his feeling. Also, this "woman" that keep throwing Yoki under the bus need to be caught and confess all she said was BS.

I'm maybe be cynical here but it's probably because he isn't deaf. While his hearing is impaired, it's "minor" in K-Drama for a MC's trauma. So yeah it isn't the main focus but this drama 100% focus on their respective traumas, it's just that his hearing is the least important one - like they kind of glossed over his scar.

Really like this show. I didn't expect anything as it seemed like the usual University BL drama they did multiple time - and to some extent it's exactly that - but the main couple just... work. They are so endearing. Don't know if it will stay that way in the long run but so far, they put a smile on me every week. :)

On another note, what's the meaning of Duang ? It was probably said before but I didn't see it.

I don't think he have a sad past or a trauma but it's probably to hide is own insecurity.

Love triangle have always been part of the romance genre, even in the west. It isn't as systematic but also pretty common. So yeah, I do also enjoy sometime a good love triangle plot. It can be a good tool to make the romance progress, adding some comedic moment, etc.

But the thing is, in K-Drama, they drag forever and often become the main focus of the show. It isn't just a tool there, it became the main dishe and the actual romance seems to fade away sometime. Like here. Fl had more "romantic" moment with the SML than the actual ML. She had 2 dates with the SML in the last episode! Diner + that escapade in the countryside. That's just... wrong.

Is that a cultural thing ? I mean I watched a lot of K-Romance and most of them have love triangle that drag forever. Does the Korean audience really enjoy deeply this kind of plot on repeat ? Or they are like us and complain also everytime about it ?

Does anyone know ? I'm genuinely curious if their writer just don't care or just cater to their actual need.

Hmm... I will rant a bit before saying my opinion on this drama. I'm not a fan of Reality TV shows and I'm even more biased against their candidates that "use" their fame for starting a singing, acting or the like without the talent for it. Don't know about your country, but here (France) they always make me cringe. I don't say that they cannot do whatever they want but it's just really not my cup of tea.

So yeah... Never saw His Man BUT I was really heavily biased against this drama from the get go. Another candidate of this show also started to make BL contents and I will not name him as I don't like putting down peoples but he doesn't shine with his acting skill to say the least.

Anyway, into that show. It's not a masterpiece just to be clear but it's entertaining. It's short, lighthearted & fluffy but it doesn't go beyond that. But even with my bias, I was genuinely surprised by those actors. Again, they aren't Oscar worthy but they defended themselves pretty well for complete rookies (as far as their filmography here is trustworthy) as I was completely ready to drop this after episode 1 but I ended up finishing it all without banging my head against the wall a single time but with a smile instead. :P

Truthfully this doesn't deserve anything beyond 7/10 but because they proved me wrong so I decided to be extra nice and give it a 8/10.
