So... The Nie's Daughter that asked ML for a date was actually the Daughter of FL's Father's "side piece", right ? Like it's obvious it wasn't FL but so far I didn't understood where the misunderstand begun. But now that we were introduced to this character, it would make sense, right ?

So of course, she will cause trouble as she probably have a crush on ML. Not sure how ML will react when he will know that information because as far I know, he still believe it was FL that asked him out but she just "forgot". Realistically, It shouldn't really make a problem but we never know in drama. :P

Mostly because in the beginning ML reacted like they really did have something meaningful. Enough for FL to go by his side when he had his accident and be really hurt when she didn't. I don't know, I'm still confused about this part of the story tbh.

Anyway, so far the drama is so good. Loved the FL's cousin in the last episode. :D

I'm still saddened they used Thailand just as a background. They mostly eaten Chinese food, went to "Chinese district" even the festival they went was Chinese... They never bothered including Thai Culture in this when it's mostly located in Thailand. It was a huge missed opportunity here.

They clearly don't word it like that but some do complain that fluffy & wholesome BL are boring and lack spice. It just peoples love to complain just to be validated in their opinion regardless of the genre, theme or characters.

I literally just saw this and was about to post it. I can't really understand... Well, I do actually. I said it before this thing is hypnotizing for all the wrong reason but regardless, I watched this whole thing & I clearly wasn't the only one. So obviously it inflated the views & how the community was engaged about this + the fact I cannot believe this project required a huge budget so they probably made quite the profit. Well, enough to directly launching the next season at the very least.

We can hope they will do better but the timing is just not right if it's really coming this January. Sure they could have prepared before hand and shoot some scene but I don't really believe it.

But regardless, congrats to the cast and crew. And ngl, I will probably watch it out of curiosity... And probably be under the same spell all over again... Well, I guess we could already said Season 3 is coming soon! (I'm joking... I hope... No, really, it need to stop at some point for our own sanity! xD)

In drama sure, it wasn't that common nowadays. In the past, like around 2020 obsessive ML was a more common trope. But I would say that the Webtoon & Novel BL industry - where most of those Drama take their inspiration or are adapted from - is filled with those Red Flag & Toxic MLs (and this one is almost child play compared to others). I wouldn't dare to say they are the most popular BUT plenty are made for a reason, peoples loves them.

That being said, it's always a bit trickier to adapt those in Live Drama as this format make thing a little more... realistic ? It's fine on paper or in drawing but seeing live actor enact such... dangerous behavior ? Can be seen as too risky especially since a drama is a whole different level of investment monetary speaking. It can easily scare investor. :P

Outside of the filming location, it's more about the entire production that is "delocalized". The casting can be Chinese, the crew can also be Chinese BUT the production company is "foreigner". Also, not any official broadcasting channel from China is involved in those project. You can see it like if it was a Thai Drama fully filmed in Chinese so they can't really do anything "yet".

I said "yet" because we never know. They could attacks the actors & crew members themselves if they really want to die on this hill and shutdown any BL content who can be related to China (as we all label those as Chinese BL drama even if they aren't technically).

We could give you every excuse on FX's behavior it wouldn't change your opinion if you personally think you wouldn't forgive someone like that. He had a really mess up childhood and probably heavy mental issue. Does it excuse anything ? Some will say yes, some will say it doesn't matter. Everything is valid here I would say.

But the most important thing here is SL himself. At the end of the day, IF he choose FX as his happiness & FX really bring that to SL's life, it's all that matter. Of course, it's a fiction and they are written like that - probably as I don't actually know the ending - but it's the same principle IRL.

Ngl, I was more worried for the Little Black than those servants in that fire... He was too cute, I will miss him. :(

I personally really loved this drama but it's true that the final episode gave it a sour aftertaste. The amnesia plot line was so unnecessary. Well, they could have made it into a comedy bit but they choose to be tragic about it. And the FL's sister plot line being used then completely forgotten the next minute was just... odd. Don't bring it up if you don't want to give closure tbh.

But I can get over it. I particularly liked the very last scene - the dancing one - even if it doesn't really belong to the drama itself, it was really heartwarming to see the cast in a last big hooray. :)

Regardless, I still enjoyed this one even if some potential were a bit wasted. 8.5/10

He probably have figured out the whole wedding ceremony already. Love how he said "Noon is fine too". :P

I've seen "best friend" acting like that IRL. Female rivalry is quite the scarry thing even among "friends".

Probably just not my cup of tea. Like I said, it's just too much over-the-top that he seems completely fake & unrealistic - even more than the usual dreamy man we get every Romance Drama. It isn't wrong, I enjoy that quite a bit but when it's too forced, it just break the fantasy for me.

I continued a bit but I think I will just drop it as the FL being just a prop for the ML doesn't sit right for me in a Romance Drama. It's normally the other way around (the ML living exclusively for the FL) and I also drop them for the same exact reason. I just tried more longer with this one as I was hoping for a change as I never seen a Drama excluding the FL life beside the one with the ML. But I guess, it just isn't for me.

Hmm... I'm really struggling with this one. I'm currently watching ep. 19 and I don't know, it seems to be a miss for me. It probably doesn't help that the racing theme so far didn't hook me.

First of all, it's really ML centric. The FL so far doesn't have a story of her own. Her only goal is to be with ML & support him in her childish way. Her relationship with her lost father, her new found half-sister & step mother, her own professional goal in the future or even her daily life beside the one with ML is just completely omitted so far. Ah yes, she seems to have a side Idol gig with her best friend but it's just the actress playing as her own self so it really doesn't help to make thing better tbh. Don't know if it's developed later in the drama but it clearly isn't in the first part.

Anyway, another thing that bother me is how the made them "God-like" characters. ML is a professional fighter, car racer, car engineer, can draw & cook and probably have more hidden talent. Overall, he is a genius that can do anything but it just feel odd as it's just random sometime & disconnected. FL is similar as she also have multiple random talent. They are also "morally" superior as they don't really have major character flaw. And yes, obviously they are handsome & pretty and every characters say it when they see them. It just make thing feel artificial, unrealistic & fake.

I will probably continue a bit but it make me yawn so much that I'm just forcing myself tbh.

So if I understand the feedback on the first few episodes, their are kind of painful to watch ? I will let this simmer then. :P

Yeah, for now thing are really dry between the 1st couple. Well, Than carry almost the entire ship tbh. :P

It make the 2nd couple even more like a breath of fresh air.

But when thing will warm up for the 1st couple I think thing will go sour for the 2nd one and they will less... "spicy & goofy" and more about angst.

It isn't clear yet but it's probably more about a misunderstanding plot. A huge one at that.

Ngl, those two men really trigger all fibber of my motherly instinct to protect them. The broken Fan Xiao, I want to comfort him and chant him a lullaby that will ease his madness. And to Shulang, that have the worse luck in the world with men. It will be fine, I want to say to him. Stop hurting each others as I can't protect you both. Y_Y

Just saying but they probably got more money for streaming it on Netflix. And money is one of the biggest indicator to the success of a show. That or it's literally Netflix that financed a huge part of it. So short answer, it's about money. :P

Totally. I don't know if they are trained in dancing but regardless, they "mastered" (in my neophyte eyes at least) 10 different dances! That quick step for example in the end was so impressive tbh.

I doubt it. Manga update are really slow so when it will be finished, the hype could have died, the actors could have move on, the production could have drop the project. Like, it could happen, it's in the realm of possibility, right ? But I wouldn't hold my breath either.
