Still loving it so far. I'm just a bit confused about the dynamic between the two Marquis's sons. I mean the legitimate son seem to be "playing" the fool to hide his true intent but not really ? Like at first, I believed he was mentally impaired and had a child like mind but then he went on torturing peoples quite openly but he "schemed" against his half brother in a lowkey way ? Like he was a threat he need to be cautious about.

I mean, he is clearly treated like the golden child and the guard like an aftertaste. So why he seems like he is "hiding" his sharpness like a ML that need to be lowkey to survive ? I'm really curious about what's the deal with this family! :D

(and I hope the girl will not be toyed by the golden child to hurt his brother :/)

I didn't say his brother will save him directly but he will probably have contacts in the medical field that could help him - you still need to study medicine to be a dentist. As for his father, this plotline wasn't really exploited yet. They probably will have a conflict but once he will learn that his son is dying ? They could switch up his character. Or not. We don't know.

And for shooting stars, it isn't just a China thing. Nowadays it's quite a common superstition all over the world. That being said, I just don't believe they will go fully on the supernatural plot line of having this "wish" be the sole answer to this crisis. It will be more subtle. Especially since they keep showing us than Xu Yuan's "curse" was only a superstition in everyone heads.

Personally, I was more down to earth as to how Zhan Wang would survive. His brother is in the medical field so it's easy to pull off the card "I know this amazing surgeon that could save you!" plot line. Also, his family is loaded. Depending on how they will handle the "homophobic" dad plot line maybe they will also use this. He will still have a low probability of surviving so it would still be considered a "miracle" but it wouldn't just be "Oh! it's gone magically because my cute "cursed" BF wished on a shooting star!" kind of plot (even if we will probably nonetheless have this scene - them wishing upon a shooting star).

Like the ones above said, it's a all around good drama. Especially the characters that are beautifully written so far. You should 100% try it for yourself when you have the time!

Yeah... Don't know about this. I didn't have high expectation from the beginning as they choose to cast influencers instead of proper actors (no hate here but I cannot avoid feeling bias about this fact as it kind of show their aim - and it's not producing something of the best quality unfortunately) but the plot was intriguing. I gave it shot and yeah... It's quite lacking in many regard. Still watchable at this stage but I don't have any expectation from this now.

Yes and no. The rating always fluctuate during airing but the rating here dropped significantly in a short amount of time without a clear apparent reason. It can only mean a sudden surge of "negative" rating (like less than 3/10) were made quite suddenly and "out of nowhere". It's not far fetched to view this as a way to "minimize" the success of this drama for whatever reason they have.

Rating were never truly objective as by essence it's based on everyone subjective view but those behavior take an extra step. Mind you, when the rating suddenly bump higher for no apparent reason , those same eyebrows are raised for those same reason - as they are clearly made to try to manipulate public opinion.

That being said, it's really not THAT serious especially on a website like MDL that have little to no impact in the success of those dramas. Like someone said previously, it's probably just a silly fanwar. :)

Well that escalated fast. SA is always a touchy subject so I get that but just to be clear, do you truly believe that Xu Chang Yang was SA by Feng Qing in that scene ? I mean you can have your opinion on the matter or even say "If it was me..." but SA is always determined by how the "receiver" view the incident and in this case, it's Xu Chang Yang. And like I said, I'm probably sure he didn't view that as such - well, to the point of feeling extremely uncomfortable or/and unsafe to involve the police at least.

And as for if it was in a general case: If you were stronger but confused to the point of being in shock and freeze + the perpetrator was completely hammered - legally and I mean LEGALLY - unfortunately even if after the incident you do feel this way - being SA by him - your case would be much weaker if you really didn't defend yourself or voiced your refusal during the incident. But morally, yes, it's still fucked up.

If it really happened to you or someone close to you, I would really advise you to reach out your local SA victims hotline to have more precise opinion on the matter. If your post was just to spark debate on those particular fictional characters, you got your answer. :)

Didn't expect this. It's clearly not the usual way to make a BL drama. Well, I would even say a Drama. The narration & cinematography feel more like a indie movie except we will have apparently 16ep. It's quite raw & unpolished in a good way. By that I mean it doesn't seems to be heavily edited to have this "perfect" aesthetic most have or seek. Also, the location is just gorgeous. Really hooked I will say. :o

You can leave the last part. If anyone force on anyone drunk or not, it can be considered as SA. Of course, if he was completely hammered and wasn't "in a clear mindset" he can use that to defend himself.

That being said, if your question was about the drunken scene where Xu Chang Yang kind of avoid Feng Qing Lang drunken kisses I don't think it's SA here because:

- Xu Chang Yang doesn't seem to have been feel this way. SA can only be determined by the "receiver".
- Xu Chang Yang could also have overpowered Feng Qing Lang quite easily if he wanted to as he was completely hammered. And in those case, not defending yourself actively can be view as consent. Well, it really depend on the case as you can be coerced or drugged but here it's not one of those.

My understanding:

- From the FL's PoV, she already had something for him when he saved her in the desert. When she married him he wasn't just an unknown grumpy - but cute - man.

- As for ML, she wasn't completely unknown but I don't think he had any feeling for her at that time (or maybe later flashback will prove me wrong but as of now, I don't think it's the case) BUT he was starving emotionally. Like how a survivor victim can strongly bond on their savior really fast to the point of developing romantic feeling for them.

Nah FL still really had the face of "Oh, Mommy still protected me... Y_Y" when it happened.

Hmm... I binged it this weekend. Glad I waited for watching this as I would have probably be frustrated otherwise. Some point I noted:

- The karma of homophobic parents to have their two only sons being gay. Ngl, I was completely expecting that they would never know like it's done in most drama but no, we had an epic scene for this "reveal".

- Also, twice this "reveal" was heart failure inducing. If it wasn't this tragic, I would have laugh. :P

- The second couple was here a bit more like a background. But with how messy the relationship with Lu Feng and Yi Chen was I don't think it was a bad thing. It was refreshing to see them being just the super cute couple that everyone aspire to be.

- What was the deal with the name of the two brothers ? Why are they so similar (and I could even say "the same" but they have probably different character, right ?) Were they supposed to be twin (the little brother said at some point that he is very alike his brother physically) ?

- Impressed by the actor playing Lu Feng. All of his emotional scene hit the right nerve. So yeah, he made me squeal & cry/triggered my fury/felt pity for him all in one.

- And lastly, glad for once a character that clearly needed therapy actually did. Too bad it was gated being a "clinical mental illness" like bipolarity as I truly believe that it wasn't necessary as it could have just been a trauma without being overly specific. I mean even Yi Chen would probably need some as I truly don't see how you can be "completely fine" after what he endured especially when his behavior doesn't seem... fine (I mean he kept coming back to Lu Feng again & again). I truly believe that it should be normalized. Your teeth hurt ? You go see a dentist. You have skin issue ? You go see a dermatologist. etc. Therapy shouldn't just be gated behind heavy diagnostic like schizophrenia or like in this case bipolarity. But it's a nice step as like I said, it's rare they actually go to therapy and aren't just "magically" healed by the power of love.

And I probably ranted way to much already. I will just add this was entertaining. I rooted for their happiness and it happened (mostly because it's a fiction but yeah we need that sometime).

Yeah... No. It just didn't work for me. It's a "good" youth drama but the synopsis on this page was soooooooo misleading that it ruined this drama for me. You see when I saw the synopsis I was expecting to see their full journey. High-school, College, Adulthood. And yeah, their romance. But this drama isn't about this AT ALL.

I'm at ep. 26 and they are still in high school. And being a C-Drama, the romance in a high school setting is kept at the bare minimum (to not encourage this behavior to their youths I suppose) as their focus should be their studies.

If you want a youth drama, it's fine. Not the best I saw either, but it's good. Just don't expect anything further. The romance probably blossom near the end but personally at this point, I just don't care.

She was already feeling something for him when he saved her in the desert I think so no, it's not only because of guilt/duty.

Simple. He see him as a tool and not a human being. And a tool doesn't have a sexuality, it just have a purpose. In this case, it's just to make him look good with the "perfect family" & the "perfect heir to his legacy".

Hope, his wife wake up and give him a nasty public divorce.

Very good. Probably one of the best Thai BL Period drama I've seen. Loved the fact that modern day wasn't just a last minute thing in the final episode but a proper arc in the story. The wedding scene was very emotional. I will miss them.

Don't know about "Assassin Kid". It seemed more like gratitude than romantic feeling as she saved his life. If it was the case, you could also see Captain Li as "a romantic interest" with how he faithfully obey her.

Do you truly believe he will not ? He already look down on him - calling him a cripple. Didn't care at all about him when he was trying to "elope" with FL. Just to be rejected in the most straightforward way possible - she literally said she despise him. And now we learn that he is forced to humiliate himself to survive ? If it's not the premise of a villain in the making, I don't know what it is. :P

From what I understood, when Late Emperor died and the young current Emperor took place, the Empress Dowager took regency. After that, it's a bit unclear but fearing that her authority would be shaken she "closed the door" of the Lishan academy and banned every official from this "school" from the palace.

What I don't fully grasp is how deeply involved in this she is as she truly seems to believe it was quite pacifist and they are just in some sort of lockdown in their mountain. Like with the death of FL's mother. ML's nemesis who I forget the name seems to be also involved in this (as we saw the fat guy who burned to death enforcing this lockdown in the mountain in a very short flashback). We will see. :o

It's not my first Thai drama so I'm aware of that. It's just sometime they use it to make pun so I was wondering if Ko Neung & Ko Song were one of those. ^^
