I don't know the reason you heard but without spoiling too much the older brother as kid was in the shitiest situation possible and every adults abandoned him to his fate. So yeah, he did what he did to protect his younger brother. And even later, the guilt made him unable to mend his relationship with him. It's truly a heartbreaking story.
After a fantastic first episode, unfortunately, it's gotten weaker with each episode. This series is a huge disappointment…
Like someone said previously, this have two main couples. So neither of them is supporting the others, they are both equally important. That being said, I will not comment on the chemistry, it's a highly subjective subject. Personally I also think they don't give firework level of chemistry but it isn't at 0 but to each their own. But, I mainly enjoy the show because of the story, as It's entertaining so far.
Very good. The sister trio is heartwarming & hilarious. The Grandma is epic, she is so "The Devil Wears Prada" coded. And their respective MLs are so fine. ML have the most contagious smile ever. Potential ML of the middle sister is so goofy. And the one of the younger sister is such a sweetheart.
But what make this even more appealing for me it's the complete absence of the El Famoso "Love Triangle" so far. Such a breath of fresh air... :P
Yoki is diabolical. Yang Meng already liked Yoki since high school, so if Yoki really wanted to be with him, he…
It's a bit over dramatic. Yes, he tried to earn some pity point for some reason. It's like the "faking to be ill" troop to gain interest from their crush. Yes, it's bad. No, I wouldn't recommend to use it IRL. But it's "cute" in drama. Also, I'm not sure who was his target at this point: Yang Meng or to relinquish his tarnished reputation - maybe both ?
And just to be clear, he wasn't the one responsible for the lost girl - the only thing that I would completely agree that it would be crossing the line.
But I also understand Yang Meng. He is right to be mad and confused to what was true or not. That being said, I don't see their relationship be doomed just because of that. He probably just need time to process - and probably the Grandma & Dad will help sorting his feeling. Also, this "woman" that keep throwing Yoki under the bus need to be caught and confess all she said was BS.
I love how the hearing loss is not the main focus of the story. In other dramas with a similar plot, the narrative…
I'm maybe be cynical here but it's probably because he isn't deaf. While his hearing is impaired, it's "minor" in K-Drama for a MC's trauma. So yeah it isn't the main focus but this drama 100% focus on their respective traumas, it's just that his hearing is the least important one - like they kind of glossed over his scar.
Really like this show. I didn't expect anything as it seemed like the usual University BL drama they did multiple time - and to some extent it's exactly that - but the main couple just... work. They are so endearing. Don't know if it will stay that way in the long run but so far, they put a smile on me every week. :)
On another note, what's the meaning of Duang ? It was probably said before but I didn't see it.
some love triangle are good. I just finished one with such subplot and its a ten-star drama, though i really ponder…
Love triangle have always been part of the romance genre, even in the west. It isn't as systematic but also pretty common. So yeah, I do also enjoy sometime a good love triangle plot. It can be a good tool to make the romance progress, adding some comedic moment, etc.
But the thing is, in K-Drama, they drag forever and often become the main focus of the show. It isn't just a tool there, it became the main dishe and the actual romance seems to fade away sometime. Like here. Fl had more "romantic" moment with the SML than the actual ML. She had 2 dates with the SML in the last episode! Diner + that escapade in the countryside. That's just... wrong.
Is that a cultural thing ? I mean I watched a lot of K-Romance and most of them have love triangle that drag forever. Does the Korean audience really enjoy deeply this kind of plot on repeat ? Or they are like us and complain also everytime about it ?
Does anyone know ? I'm genuinely curious if their writer just don't care or just cater to their actual need.
Hmm... I will rant a bit before saying my opinion on this drama. I'm not a fan of Reality TV shows and I'm even more biased against their candidates that "use" their fame for starting a singing, acting or the like without the talent for it. Don't know about your country, but here (France) they always make me cringe. I don't say that they cannot do whatever they want but it's just really not my cup of tea.
So yeah... Never saw His Man BUT I was really heavily biased against this drama from the get go. Another candidate of this show also started to make BL contents and I will not name him as I don't like putting down peoples but he doesn't shine with his acting skill to say the least.
Anyway, into that show. It's not a masterpiece just to be clear but it's entertaining. It's short, lighthearted & fluffy but it doesn't go beyond that. But even with my bias, I was genuinely surprised by those actors. Again, they aren't Oscar worthy but they defended themselves pretty well for complete rookies (as far as their filmography here is trustworthy) as I was completely ready to drop this after episode 1 but I ended up finishing it all without banging my head against the wall a single time but with a smile instead. :P
Truthfully this doesn't deserve anything beyond 7/10 but because they proved me wrong so I decided to be extra nice and give it a 8/10.
I agree! The ending scene was beautiful and very satisfying.Honestly, if the writers had made Eun Jo become Queen,…
And realistically, Empress or Queen is just a fancy title that mean you will need to breed heir for the Emperor and "manage" all the others Emperor's women with the same duties: Heir production.
FL didn't need any of that and wouldn't want it even for him. :P
I refuse to believe that they didn't have some money for a proper intro 😭 Do we have to see AI intros from…
Is it really AI ? I hate that now I need to second guess everything. This intro really trigered my spider sense but with ML being a freaking animator I was like "They wouldn't dare, right ?".
Ngl, I loved when they included 3D animation in Dramas or Movies but now, AI ruined it for me. :/
Love the fact both their wishes became true with the epilogue. Him wishing they could be together and her wishing they could be together "in their next life". A very satisfying ending!! :D
ML falls for her pretty quickly, open about his feelings and even proposes marriage in ep7. FL likes him but due…
No, they do end up together even in Joseon. It's just she can't be the Empress (being lowborn) and refuse the position of consort because she doesn't want to be trapped in the Palace. In another hand, ML also refused to take an Empress as the previous Emperor had a heir and he want to pass the throne to him but he is still a child. And when he did, he come back for her "as a ordinary man" for the HE.
As for the epilogue in modern time, it's actually very sweet. Back in Joseon time, both made wish with sky lantern. He wished they could be together. And they did. But she wished they could be together "in their next life" as for her, it was impossible for them in Joseon time because she was lowborn. So it's really sweet that both their wishes became true as they indeed ended up together in their next life, in modern time. <3
A bit whatever. The story is quite simple. The acting is... They tried their best I would say to be nice. I mean, it's clearly a very low budget KBL, I didn't expect very much of it. The sub were somewhat alright at least! Well, except the last episode but maybe it's because it was just released ? I don't know I didn't watch the previous one as they were.
Anyway, not really much to say. If you are tempted to watch it, like I said, keep your expectation low and probably without turning your brain on. :P
I wish I didn't saw the synopsis tbh. Like I was: "What hearing & memory lose ? He seems fine to me." So all along I was wondering if he would have another accident that lead to those issue. But it doesn't seem the case either in the end.
It's quite confusing as now, he does seem to have lost his memory but not really ? Like in the flashback he seems to have went to her at some point after the accident (in the snowy scene) so he didn't "forget" her and as far as I know he doesn't seem to have hearing aid but when he encounter her in the studio he seems to have an "episode" where the sound was blurry.
So yeah, all this episode I tried to make sense of this synopsis more than anything and it annoyed me quite a bit.
BUT, that being said, it was still good. I will just forget the synopsis (or any expectation I had when I read it) and just enjoy the show more naturally now.
I like it. I thought Seon Ho fan is the nut job, turn out it was FL. Why she use VR mom , but not her father?…
The manager followed "advice" from the actor to invest into what he recommended to gain quick money. For that he borrowed money from loan shark with his agency as collateral. And then when it was discovered that what he invested was a scam, he lost all of it.
Peoples seems to be quite harsh on this one. I personally enjoyed the first episode. The story is compelling as AI related stuff aren't as Sci-fi nowadays - give it 5 to 10 years (or even less tbh) and those "AI dating app" could become true. Not that I think it would be a good thing but anyway.
As for the main lead, they seem solid and their characters don't irk me the wrong way like some. I'm really curious about their backstory especially the FL that seems to need a VR mom or can't meet peoples more than 1h for some reason.
That being said, it's a K-Romance. Didn't know it was needed to be said but yeah, it will have those usual cliché moments that EVERYONE of them have. Don't know why some peoples here seem this surprised about it. If you dislike it, avoid every K-Romance for your mental health I would say.
