Loved the characters. Loved the OST. The story was beautifully written. I have no complain except maybe how they killed a certain character quite early. I just didn't expect it at all so it really took me by surprise. So yeah, they made me cry. Tbh, I cried a lot in this one. Not because it was overly sad but because it was very touching and some scenes just had this much impact.
I debated on the rating but I didn't see any flaw and just had a great time. 10/10. One of the best C-Drama I saw!
Very intriguing and quite good. I'm just a bit uncomfortable with those pictures he took. I mean what happened with already borderline but those ? It felt like trophy that he wanted to keep for himself. It isn't about being the morale police here, the issue is that it just felt a bit out of character - as I don't feel he should be THAT creepy if you get what I mean.
It would have been aired 2 to 3 years ago, it would be fine but currently we have so much BL airing that it's not enough to just be "a cute couple". The plot wasn't plotting most of the time. Too many side plots and uninspired at that. The main couple had a lot of plot hole (his family issue, the "age gap" only used for Daddy jokes - it's cringe inducing but they didn't really insisted on it despise the Drama's name at least, his "trauma" was brushed quite easily even when it apparently induced visual hallucination).
And yeah, the GL plotline. It's more of a personal opinion here - as they are adding more & more of those nowadays so I hope it's truly because most peoples enjoy them - but I don't like when they mix up those. Even in "straight" dramas, I'm usually not a fan of side queer plotline as they are often just "fan service" that don't really add much to the plot and are mostly used as queer baiting.
Regardless, it was entertaining but I would say watch it if you don't have anything else that interest you and have mild expectation. 7.5/10
Ngl, Sky's breakdown hit really hard. Still find a bit hard to believe that someone with such trauma still tried to work in this industry but regardless, he triggered my protective instinct. :(
Ngl, they threw logic out of the window in the later episode:
- Giving a motorbike to someone who can feint at any moment. And even letting him be the riders when you could at least do it yourself.
- Dad is more worried that peoples will find out his son is gay than he is literally dying. Let's him have his BF while he still can, you can be your homophobic self when he is safe. Get your priority straight (pun intended)!
- Self made Tattoo ? And they are identical when two different peoples draw them ? While being physical ? Sure... :P Regardless, it was a beautiful scene but don't make them so intricate and identical at least.
- Did the girl just faked narcolepsy to make the other girl "confess" ? I mean except that how can someone believe they would just randomly fall asleep when talking to someone ? That or I would believe I'm just incredibly boring (and be quite hurt by that!).
- "Doomsday" plotline ?! WTF ? I did NOT expect this at all! xD

And the plan wasn't for her to kept it, it was to give it to her own Father but her husband stole it before it could happen.

It's partly explained. When he came back feared that he would be framed regardless of the Edict because he doesn't hold much power in court. So he waited for the Duke of Hua (not sure if it's the actual name but something similar) who have much more influence and could properly use the Edict. Still, it wasn't the safest place for him to kept it. The Father of Li's Mother was the head of Lishan Academy and the idea was for him to hold it until the Duke came as he was also quite influential. But she was betrayed by her husband's family and we know how it ended.

- Prince Li when he was young was escorted by Lishan peoples to the Capital. - He was attacked and then forced to frame Lishan peoples. - All Lishan Official (Official that studied at the Lishan Academy) were purged from the court. - Lishan Academy enter seclusion.
And during all that, the Late Emperor's died and the Crown Prince's faction (Prince Li's father) was purged. I'm also quite confused about the timeline of all those event so take that with a heavy grain of salt.
From my understanding, Lishan Academy and their officials were (partly ?) part of the Crown Prince's faction or used as a scapegoat when the Empress Dowager's faction took power explain why they are in this state as of now.

Personally for me, the issue isn't that they are red flag. Having a scumbag lurking around can be fun. BUT it's when they drag the love triangle for way too long - like in the end, it's almost the whole plot. "Our Universe" come to my mind when I say this for example.

I don't know. When I heard it it sounded like "I like you when I have nothing else going on". Maybe I'm being too synical but it's exactly what I felt when he said "I love you in all the in between" even when he is "spacing out" - like this "activity" is still more important.
Not a masterpiece but regardless it was entertaining. I would say the ML heavily carried this as others characters didn't really stand out much except the Emperor.
And... Yeah, it's a harem. Just not my cup of tea. Fortunately, the romance is low-key in this so it doesn't hindered anything for me. Well, except the very last minute of the final episode. I cannot. :P
It's "hinted" that they could continue the story in the end (not that this doesn't have a proper ending) probably because the source material is more dense maybe ? I doubt they will but we never know - but I'm not really waiting for it personally. ^^
