For me it is in fact the only special that is much better than the original series.

Considering the time it is set I was expecting there will be a Gwangju reference in the beginning but I had totally forgotten about and the scenes hit me very hard. Could not stop crying. All that terrible trauma! And the FL realising she is part of this trauma. Heartbreaking. Remembers me a bit of my mum finding out about the intensity of her parents’ trauma during WW2 only when she already was much over 50 and it was years after her dad had already died and my grandma had dementia and could not talk to her about it anymore.

That’s my guess too.

I watched the ViKi version and it says 7 years ago in Gwangju.

Totally agree with all the shows you mentioned.

First two episodes finished. Wow. It’s so good so far! With what we can see in the trailer this one is really promising. Cannot wait for next week.

Biggest problem I have with this series is the terrible amount of product placement. Also the storry dragged on at times causing a lot of boredom. A shame, because a lot was good to great too. 8 episodes would have been a better fit.

I must disagree, the writing of Crash Course is very poorly, this drama is much better concerning the writing (so far). The acting of the ensemble is the best of CC and makes it enjoyable watching, but there is also not that much romance as the title would make you expect.

There are a lot on this list who don’t have a drama in 2023!

He said indirectly to FL that he was forced to end the relationship with SFL. He was giving a warning there. It is very likely they just make it up to save ML.

I have written that comment a little bit further down: All main characters are a total mess. And I love it. It puts me through the motions . I shout at the screen while watching it. I am satisfied by behaviour I would usually despise. It makes me see perspectives I would not see or normally wouldn’t like to see. It’s making me feel frustrated every week, but it is strangely making me enjoy it looking forward to the next episode.
I am usually not writing many comments because I have sometimes problems to put my thoughts into the exact words. Always happy to find comments to be able to express my thoughts.
I really didnt't expect to like it that much as I do now as it is not an easy watch. But it is giving me the kind of challenge I am enjoying to get by different form of arts, like a theatre play I would enjoy watching.
