The first four episodes felt like the filler/setup, more like an introduction to the characters, relationships, and the ongoing storylines. I think the story will start to pick up now and well see some real development. Don't quote me on that, its just my haunch ????

Its only four episodes in. Ive seen a lot of shows where I was turned off by a character/acting early on only for them to become my favorite later on. Give the story time to develop as well as his character. I think he has ability to surprise you if you're open to it.
