What’s weird isn’t that they have a different opinion than you but that you believe everyone would agree with you. His character is the reason I stayed. Your opinion is strictly your opinion. Did you even watch all 6 episodes?

Im Siwan was offered the role in Dec and turned it down sometime between Dec/Jan. So he was never officially part of the cast and hasn’t been listed here since early March when OCN replaced him. While Seo Yeji was replaced by OCN due to a scandal in May. The casting was done in June and the stations switched in August. All that changed was the station, TVN did not touch the cast that OCN had previously picked.

Maybe wait until the first episode comes out to complain about the cast. You may just be surprised. You don’t actually know the future afterall.

It is not a fact its an opinion. And one I will respect even if I do not personally agree. Fun fact there isn’t one actor or actress all 9 billion people in the world agree on. Trust me when I say there are people in world who also think your fav actor or actress can’t act.

I agree with this. Give him a chance and watch at least one episode of the drama with him in it before judging. I’m excited to see him in an action series since he did so well with his stunts in TB. Both the director and martial arts director told him he should do an action drama or movie. I think he’ll do well. Let’s wait and see.

He was great as that character and people who watched him there liked his acting. I think it comes down to the character. I have seen bad to mediocre actors hailed as great because they played the bad boy character and great actors be criticized because they played the stoic and emotionless character. I think people have this subconscious idea that if I like or don’t like a character it’s based on the acting, which is not true. The hill which I will die on is his acting isn’t limited it is his character that is. I think this role will go a long way in opening peoples eyes to his true acting ability.

How can you say this doesn’t just doesn’t suit him when he’s never played this kind of role before? As for his acting people can always improve and surprise. If you absolutely must judge his acting then at least see one episode of his acting in this drama first.

Yes! His character is expressing more as the show goes on. I can't wait until ep 11 when Suho lets out all his held in emotions. You can just see from from the previews that hes going to kill it :)

I agree that he is not the best. I never said he was. But he has improved so seeing comments still saying he cant act or is terrible, I dont agree with. But I mostly leave those alone. Some people honestly just word their comment wrong. This is the internet so messages dont always get across the right way.

Yes, most people have admitted hes improved. So I am happy he is making new believers out of this preformence. I understand it is impossible for everyone to like his acting but I also know he can always change peoples minds in the future ;P

I am glad I could help. I just wanted to let you know this defensiveness has been long building up. I guess some cant keep it it in anymore. So I understand it but would never do it because I dont like confortation and I do believe people have a right to their own opinions, as well.

I am just hoping you can understand why people are defensive regarding him. Its because hes dragged constantly and its almost always unprovoked. Theres even a joke on twitter "call me cha eunwoo cause I dont know how to act right now". People constantly say hes a bad actor but say they have never seen him act before they have only seen others say it. If you say you like his acting peoole either say you are blinded by his face, a crazy biased fan, or dont know anything about acting. So our defensiveness isnt just an effect of these comments on this site but everything overall.

Luckily now both the knetz and kmedia have adknowledged his improvement in True Beauty and like his acting. That is what matters the most since this was drama made with Koreans in mind and he works in Korea.

Right it doesnt have to be about True Beauty as a whole. But coming on a comment section just to say hes pretty but a very bad actor doesnt mean they watched True Beauty either. They could just be saying it. I saw a twitter comment exchange and the person was litterally bad mouthing Eunwoo's preformance in True Beauty, just to find later they hadnt even started the series.

This is something that is constant just not on here but other social media sites as well. I was hoping MDL could be a site to actually discuss the drama but instead it seems its like this here. Interestingly enough on the social media sites theres a more positive feel regarding Eunwoo and his acting so I try to stay over there.

But I am anxious so I feel the need to constantly check this site. And basically regret it everytime.

Theres a lot of people commenting on his acting here. Even one comment from today which said hes pretty but a very bad actor. That was their whole comment. Absoluetly nothing about True Beauty.

Its literally triggering for me to see new negative comments about his acting constantly. Especially since they basically all say the same thing. Like i thought since there were no new episodes this week no one would mention his acting but theres still multiple comments about it.

Construtive criticism is fine, unfornuately, the hateful comments outweigh the constructive ones. And coming to the comment section literally is not fun for me anymore.

I really dont know what was wrong with the crying scene for people. Many people including myself cried buckets watching that scene. There were people who were convinced of his acting after watching those scenes. So, its odd to see posts like that. But again acting is subjective. We all don't need to agree.

Okay. But i do have a question for you. Why did you call him dear eunwoo when saying youd switch him out? Do you not realize how patronizing that sounds?

And for the people who think Eunwoo is perfect for Suho and protraying him to the tee, is their opinion invalidated because you dont agree?

Truth is its impossible to please everyone. While your actor switch may be better for you it doesnt mean everyone else would feel the same.

Now why would you do that to yourself? Im actually surprised there isnt a moderator for the comment section. Apparently, it can get pretty bad in the comments, so much so, that people have actually stopped coming to this site. I hope that people putting their foot down early with that comment yesterday can prevent this comment section from following Start Up's path.
