I said to somebody’s comment that I think it’s really ironic that the female lead who was an orphan and had a pretty horrific childhood understands family dynamics, and the way that it should be over the emperor who actually has like kids and had a wife who loved 😂

I don’t think he loved her at that time. I think he admired her and her kindness towards him which made him want to be like her. I think once he saw her use the bow after the god of war went missing, and he realized that she was the same person maybe that’s when his feelings started to change.

Well, technically, I think we’re supposed to think that he recognized her because of her bow I’m assuming because the god of war is the only one that can use it?

Honestly, feel sorry for his dad. I mean he full literally everyone even his own father and his own father was supportive of the emperor so how devastated is he going to be to find out his own son was plotting to betray someone who supported. You can clearly see he loves his father, but he obviously doesn’t respect him very much because he was willing to do what he did. Even though I feel bad for his dad I can’t wait for him to see the truth head on.

Also made me wonder I mean, kids do stupid things all the time by sneaking away, but I wonder if it was his friend who convinced him to sneak away. It never says I don’t think so. It’s like if his friend was the one who can convince him to sneak away then what happened was technically his friends fault lol. Do you have a thing two is like we could obviously see that he was unconscious and when he woke up immediately asked about his friend and was told that they were safe. His friend never once seemed to ask about him and his safety.

I don’t think it’s stupid for the mother to want what’s best for her children. I think she was naïve to think she could take them away, but I don’t think it’s stupid. She just wanted to protect her kids.

But the princess never really got the brains either because she’s stupid and naïve. Even being raised in the palace, with all its pull schemes and intrigues she just blindly trusts everyone doesn’t question anyone’s motivations and just takes them on surface level.

Maybe it is naïve, but she still wanted what’s best for her kids, even if that meant taking them away. At the end of the day, the emperor obviously just didn’t understand or care for her at all because he obviously couldn’t see what was important to her, or maybe he lost sight of that once he took the throne. If you truly loved her, he would’ve let her go and let her take her kids with her. Obviously, he was willing to take other concubines and have kids with them, which he did have the prince and it’s not necessarily that the firstborn son has to take the throne I mean, usually it is but with concubines it could be any of the princes really who the emperor declares as a crown Prince so he really could’ve just let her go and taking her kids with her knowing that she was safe and they were safe. He never once thought about her or what she wanted which is his delusion thinking that that was really love more like obsession.

I found it interesting that an orphan who had such a traumatic childhood understood more about family than the emperor did lol

But when she married him, he wasn’t the emperor at the time lol, it was only after he took the throne that he changed and became someone else that she didn’t recognize.

There is a saying, absolute power corrupts absolutely and that’s what happened. You’re blaming the victim here lol.

To be honest, I’d rather give my throne to someone who doesn’t covet it because they’re more likely to be a good ruler than somebody who’s power hungry lol
