From what I understand from reading spoilers about the novel the reason why he stays away for an entire year is because the emperor made a bet with him to test her loyalty since before he went away, she told him that if he doesn’t come back, she won’t marry again. This really pisses me off and makes me not like the emperor because after all she’s been through they’re going to leave her alone and grieving not knowing if she’s dead or alive? I mean, I know that she hears dead and she says she doesn’t believe it but I think it’s really cruel, especially of Duke Su knowing what she’s been through to do that to her and if my guy did that to me and made that kind of stupid that I’d be royally pissed off.

I’m really curious to find out if they will get their just desserts along with their son and brother and how karma will dish it out

I find this ironically funny when it showed that I was like are you so deep in the filth that you can’t even see that you are corrupt? 🤦🏻‍♀️. When he was spouting all that BS during the thunderstorm I was like do you truly believe that? you’re the last person that should be talking about morality, integrity, Justice and being a good person because you are not 🤣 and the fact that he thinks he is even though he did awful things to his wife makes me feel like he’s heavily in denial. When she asked if he truly loved his wife or hated her with all his animosity that he shows towards her whenever she’s around him coming out saying he loved his wife since he didn’t use the past tense. I was like dude you’re delusional. I was like there’s no way that you truly love someone and do what you did to them.

Here’s the thing though I feel like if he already had a predisposition towards having morally objectionable behaviour if he didn’t he would’ve steered clear from the princess and allied himseon the Emperor side to actually fight corruption.

Instead, he didn’t think twice about not only having an affair with the princess, but not even thinking twice about permanently getting rid of his wife because the princess wanted him to. So at the end of the day, it was still his choice to allow himself to be on her side or even have anything to do with her. So no I don’t pity him at all, even though he stated that he did love her. I don’t think he did because you can’t truly love someone and do what he did to her, I personally don’t think he feels guilty. I think he’s just paranoid about getting caught and what will happen when he does.

I’m just curious cause I know from others who’ve read the novel that the wedding actually doesn’t happen till after the war and they end up having a child. I would really like to see now that the weddings moved up if she has a child in his absence to keep her company since she doesn’t know if he’s dead or alive and since he’s made a bet with the Emperor to test her loyalty to see if she’ll remarry, which kind of pisses me off and not like the emperor at all I would really like to see him come home to find out that he actually has a child lol.

I have a question for novel readers when exactly is the princesses torture dungeon found? And when does JRY runaway was it after she found out her mom did all these awful things or before I’m just curious as to how they’ll match up the timeline to her ending up in the princesses torture dungeon?

Also, this is based off of a novel they already had to change the main genre of the novel from transmigration because that’s taboo. So they had to some of the storyline to incriminate that change from the novel as well. They also have to try to do justice to the novel. I’ve never read it but I’m loving this story and I’m obsessed with it. I will definitely be beginning the express package when it becomes available to binge watch lol

The problem is is based off of a novel, so they also have to do the novel justice as well, and they’ve already changed a bit because the novel was originally transmigration which they couldn’t put into the show so they had to change the storylines around that.

It’s so full of irony, her talking to him about how he promised his father on his deathbed to become the number one scholar in order to fight corruption, they are part of the corruption and they’re so deep in it that they can’t even see that. The fact that she can’t see how corrupt it is on the orders of the elder princess they set up to ruin his wife’s reputation and then kill her. The fact that they stand there thinking they have morally high ground and can talk about being justified and upstanding people when they can’t see that their own actions are morally reprehensible makes me can’t wait until they get punched by karma lol
