It’s kind of interesting because I read a comment a few days ago where it explained quite well that Yurong it’s so adapted playing the consummate victim, he weaponizes his victimhood and uses it to manipulate the princess by constantly holding out over her head.

He was from a very poor family originally. This is what makes his mother and sister so awful because they were literally living off the female leads money from the items that she was pawning from her family in order to support him. So once he ended up getting more powerful backing from the princess they weren't even grateful or appreciative of everything the female lead sacrificed for them and just ended up being happy to get rid of her in order to sponge off somebody who was more powerful.
