I also hate that trope of the "shy partner" especially after they're official, in the privacy of their own home…
Well, like you, others talk about how cringe it is, but to me Earth in Fourever You is like *peak* cringe for me, lol. Just wish they'd let that man graduate school. At least he's made it to college in this show. Pond and MaxBas def saved this first part for me.

I think it's a trope popular amongst the people who started the yaoi genre in general because it is a trope common in hetero romances, too. So it just got copy/pasted in to yaoi/BL, imo.
Honestly, Cutie Pie is one of my favourites because it kind of turns that trope on its head. Like the whole point is that Zee's character *doesn't* wany NuNew's character to pretend to be something he's not, that shy/demure trope, and their relationship actually starts to get good and grow once NuNew is finally being himself.
And that scene with Zee dancing and singing in those pink boxers.... It lives rent free in my head.
Waiting for Ep 16 now, and one thing is sure, JOHAN carried this show on his wide shoulders 😮💨🔥 I…
I also hate that trope of the "shy partner" especially after they're official, in the privacy of their own home and the shy partner is always pushing the other one away. UGH.
My best guess is that kinda old idea of "kissing is just the beginning" kind of a thing- if the shy partner gives an inch the other will take a mile. However it's also born from a pretty heteronormative place, too, where the Man is always the aggressor/wanting physical intimacy and the Woman always has to turn him down/play coy. *sigh*
In the actual gay world NONE of this would be happening! XD
But def hoping for a second season/part 2 cuz I need to see my Ngern flaunt his muscles more. :D
The pacing on this show is starting to get annoying.... Just over halfway through and out of the 4 couple promoted in the trailer, the first couple isn't even official if committed, we've really only just started getting into the secondary couple's story line, the third couple have barely met/interacted, the fourth couple isn't even on the radar and now some random fifth couple has been introduced and we've gotten more story about them than the third or fourth couple??? Wtf??? lol
I'm enjoying it overall otherwise. Especially when Pond does... well, anything.
and Gyuho says he tasted blood.... Just my heart. My whole heart. He was running away from the start and I get…
It depends on how they're treating Kylie, but they would still be careful about exposure. But I think a few things were going on in that moment that added to his panic, lol. Probably that he didn't even think before he grabbed him for a kiss, which he probably wouldn't have done if he knew that he had an open wound around his lips or mouth.
Ok, my theory as of episode 3 is that he's working through trauma from previous relationships while dating Dai Shu Guang in the present time of the show....
Reasons why I want/need to go back and rewatch this show (when my heart is healed), but when Yeong kisses Gyuho…
and Gyuho says he tasted blood.... Just my heart. My whole heart. He was running away from the start and I get it. But fuckin' a. The friends that I've had and have who are poz and what I know they've gone through and experienced. Yeong's experience and reaction are no uncommon even within knowledgeable communities.

The smile, the muscles, just yes, all of it. :)

Do you remember where you saw that tho?

That's all I got so far, lol.
