All these Asian countries have low birth rates
Yeah, so enforcing chastity doesn't make sense if u wanna raise birth rate.
On Chastity High Aug 31, 2024
Sup with Japan and chastity based media ? Don't they have low enough birth rates already ? The premise never makes sense.

What is the point of wearing big collar that is distracting and displays follower number which is also not even done in any sensical way since having a lot of followers on insta or tik tok is worth way less then subscribers on YouTube for example so number is pointless. Also why even recruit small influencers they will instantly lose when it comes to views and engagement compared to bigger ones no matter how much they try. One of the most followed influncers could legit stare at wall and say nothing and still pass live streaming. Every round had unfair advantages mostly ruined by initial follower ranking that was converted into money aswell as other flawed rules.

It's ok to watch and sometimes entertaining but concept itself is pointless with the way rounds are designed it's not well thought out for actual fair competition.

It's weird because for some parts they had the correct idea and execution on how to do it fair but then chose to do half stuff completely unfair and half cooked and contestants could easily abuse system and use their fame, money, star guests, outside help, connections,.. even judging criteria like mentions in chat, eye tracker, comment spam,.. were so abusable and bad way to do it..

This really was just eyecandy / some sort of ad for clothes. Story is underdeveloped, random and goes nowhere. It's forgettable mess with no direction.

I agree that this is a perennial issue with Kdramas, but I don't think this drama was one of the worst offenders…
Yeah it's definitely not the worst offender I just got tired of this happening basically always.
On My Sweet Mobster Aug 9, 2024
At this point we need a tag for dramas that don't fall apart in last 1/3 because they are so rare.

Like basically almost every drama start out strong with some good premise and setups storylines but almost no drama knows what to do with them. It's like when I am with friends and we start spitballing some ideas and slowly creating something but never fully develop it and conclude it.

It's like these drama start shooting with someone having some idea on how to start and open up all these possibilities and at same time thinking they will somehow know how to finish them later when the end comes but they never do.

They need to polish and preproduce dramas more or they will always fall apart in last 1/3 or get most development rushed into last episode leaving things feel slow and rushed at same time. Considering this is not financially encouraged thing won't really change and we can only hope decent stuff from passion project combined with good talent and the rest is just filler we tolerate.

I just wanna know why that killer wants to kill sol. And they don't show that killer kills another person than…
Because writter needed it to happen without actually thinking through and giving character proper motivation.

If you are looking for logic or any sort of consistency in this drama then u will be very disappointed.

This drama is similar to "Behind Your Touch"—there's a miracle and a serial killer, but "Behind Your Touch"…
If this is worse then behind your touch then I prob won't even start watching it because behind your touch was awful.

Interesting. I've never seen a drama with a rating of 8.7 or above on MDL I didn't like. I guess that just means…
So basically what we learned from this is that score is completely pointless because of petty wars, bots, idol worshipers, antifans and most users are teenage girls who have no idea what they talk about.

What surprises me tho that someone who can give well constructed review can't reflect that with the reasonable score that matches. If person like that can't consider giving something less then 10 then I can't expect average mdl user to not think in 1 and 10s.

Thanks for the explanation on what went down.

Shit Drama. This is what a rating system is for, I didn’t like it, you did, simple as that.
Lol based 🤣

Again you focused on one pointless thing, ignored everything else and even misunderstood that one thing I talked about that you focused on.

- I never said my opinion changed after reading reviews
- I said I found first two episodes entertaining, I also find some trashy reality show entertaining sometimes for guilty pleasure and I don't think that is automatically 10/10 masterpiece just because I enjoyed it
- I watched 1st two episodes when show was live then put it on hold because I pref watching when all episodes are out
- I recently returned and looked into show if I should spend my time finishing this
- I gave it a go purely because of favourable scores to see what sort of special masterpiece we got here only to get same old average flawed kdrama
- it's was ok, chill, mostly enjoyable yet very flawed and nothing mind blowing
- then I wrote my comment on mdl and here we are
- also stop twisting my words
- I am not a girl
- stop asuming and laying it down as facts

The original point of this discussion was huge disconnect between review and mdl score and you yet again focus on 1 of my personal inserts that are not even important but at same time you butcher what I said and make assumptions..

All I asked was for open minded discussion about some issues but u keep focusing on same wrong stuff and misunderstanding me.

I understand people are not professional reviewers but I was hoping more would be open to idea of rating something lower and considering flaws even if they enjoyed it a lot or because their idol is in it doesn't have to be 10. I know this is pointless to say because it won't change and I just have to set realistic expectations and simply ignore scores or like have in mind that it loses a lot of weight with big name actors and romcoms. This kdrama is one of the most extreme examples of flawed scoring system.

Let's just say agree to disagree and end this.

This discussion became pointless and waste of time. No one is gonna change their mind and you are more focused on me believing this deserved low score and being super defensive instead of looking at this from broader perspective. I did not even rate this drama, review it or fully watched it. All I saw were 2 episodes when it came out and they were fine for what it was. I was just returning to it to see if I should continue so I was reading reviews, watched some more and agreed with flaws and this show mediocrity even tho it was entertaining.

There is either language barrier here or u just chose to selectively pick to ignore specific things because u keep bringing up stupid stuff and generalising and downplaying without being open minded to actually discuss something or open to entertain some ideas and challenge them.

Based on what you just wrote I feel like I wasted my time and you completely ignored the core of what I was saying and going further will just be pointless because you chose to focus on petty subjective assumptions about me.

You failed to understand that this was not about being right or wrong, or about 1 specific drama u love and wanna defend, but overall discussion about systems and it's usefulness. Ultimately neither of us would be right or wrong because we were throwing out ideas that we didnt provide strong enough base yet. I just hoped you would be open to see that system can be flawed, that u can enjoy drama yet still criticise it and not see it as perfect 10, that scores are highly abnormal and very disjointed compared to reviews and such obsesive behavior is more common with kdramas/cdramas. Surely big disconnect between reviews, comments and overall score is not normal in this case and I am confused why you act like it is. When do shows on mdl have such bipolar results between overall such absurdly high score and overall mediocre highly approved multiple reviews. But what I got back was just the usual fan girl that ultimately confirmed my bias as to why the score is the way it is. Another flawless 10/10 discussion because giving it anything else means I hated it, but it was entertaining even tho it got disappointing end.

I am saying every platform with rating system can be easily manipulated. Difference is with cult like fan following like it exsist in kdrama we get even more inconsistent scores then with other media.

People going throught the effort of voting kdrama on imdb and other sites are mostly biased extremists on either side and clueless airheads.

Basically the reason why rating in kdrama are worse then in other media is because votes are more bipolar and heavily biased on actors cult following.

People fail to understand that u can enjoy the media while still see its flaws and criticise it. U can love and like something because it's ur personal bias yet still think it's like a 6 or 7..

MDL is still the best site for kdrama reviews and discussion. Problem is that scores that used to be somewhat better then other sites now became as unusable as other sites is what I am saying.

Yeah imdb have same issues as mdl because kdramas have small amount of ratings. Only way you get bad score there if u pissed of some groups of people and they review bomb it.
