Interesting. I've never seen a drama with a rating of 8.7 or above on MDL I didn't like. I guess that just means…
Well tbh I started looking though multiple reviews because you can then form some sort of idea how the show actually is. People who make an effort to write proper reviews help a lot. I am ofc ignoring fanboi 10s and random haters. You can also check people profile and see if its some new random account.
Reviews on mdl are also further filtered and voted by more dedicated fans by how useful they are and you can see how mdl users in general agree with the reviews. On this show highly agreeable reviews are mostly reviews rating this show mediocre.
Now me saying mdl rating is bs and easy to manipulate is definitely way more believable then some conspiracy about voting. Mdl votes have small sample size so you can easily manipulate scores. Another thing about mdl rating is is the fact that nothing is stopping crazy dedicated fans to make ton of accounts or bots to inflate the rating. There is no barrier of entry. You can create ton of accounts and just spam boost scores with day 1 accounts. Reviews atleast take effort to write and u can see if it's not some new account or like ton of botted copy paste low effort.
This is also mixed with usual people who rate every romcom or drama they finished a 10 aswell as idol worshipers who straight up give it 10 no matter what just for their idol being in there.
So yeah I am definitely looking into comments and reviews because mdl score seem useless. Now I am not saying this show is unwatchable but it is mediocre with many flaws that does not reflect a 9 imo.
Like I have never watched a movie that is like a 9 or maybe around 8.5 on imdb and thought to myself that it is mediocre. Now I did think it was not for me but it's good for the genre or I did not enjoy it asmuch because it wasn't my taste but did see and appreciate what they were doing but I sure can't say the same for many of these dramas rated high on mdl.
On this site just adding actor with huge fanbase boost mediocre drama score by +2 and up

This drama general score has complete disconnect compared to most reviews and it's approval on the reviews.
Ain't no way there isn't some sort of manipulation going on there that is inflating the score.
When something is rated that highly it's expected that in general most will like it in some way even if it's not their genre. Score like that usually transcends genres and personal biases unless person is completly close minded.
Now I am pretty much open to all genres apart for huge dislike for triangles that I am still sometimes ok with if it's well done or other parts are that great. This is a very flawed show that will be enjoyed by people who like this sort of thing they are going for but it's not 9.1 show that transcends genres and is near perfect with no major flaws that could be enjoyed by almost everyone.
Expectations set with this score make it seem like it's gonna be something special yet in reality it's average at best and even offputing by some.
I am trying to continue watching this after dropping it initially and I am so confused in the way they interact with each other considering she was pregnant in the past and they are together for years yet they act and interact as strangers, especially ML. It makes absolutely no sense to me.
The writers really dropped the ball with that storyline, which is a shame because it’s an important topic which…
This comment is better and more thought out then whole plot in the show. Do you think they didn't cover this because of sponsorship/ funding restrictions?
Unfortunately for some reason, only the negative (?) reviews are marked most helpful, if you think helpful reviews…
Mdl will favor newer reviews that gain traction. Also 10 out 10 review does not sound like a valid review I could take seriously and so far in my life I never read useful 10/10 review on this site.
It's irrelevant reward no one knows and the ones u know about are mostly paid by studios in some way.
I am not disagreeing with that. I never said festivals are not good for film makers. I got fundings from entries in festival when I was doing indie stuff. Ofc it's well known in our circles but I was talking about general public and replying to statement made about being well known.
The fact why this article exsists still remains the same. It's about project released after actors death getting reward. If that actor wasn't LSK or/and died this article wouldn't exsist. Award by it self is irrelevant and not newsworthy or we would have 100+ news of each entry of every festival.

If you asked 1000 people if they know what that is it would prob still be less then 1 person avg who knows it so I wouldn't call that well known. Even looking at Google trends statistics it has like no traction at all in time when the festival was happening.
Now I know festivals and participated in few including this one. Cannes is like 10 times more known yet still most won't know what it is. What is well know are like Oscars, bafta, golden globe, Emmy's but that is just studios paying to promote their stuff and win awards.
But all that doesn't matter because the fact remains the same. Article only exists because famous actor died and played in that and putting in entry in category with basically no competition at low pop festival will guarantee winning something in comparison to other entries that are basically indie productions.

When I say they interact weird I ment they act like teenagers and not estranged married couple.

Then I read reviews and ton of plot holes that insult braindead human intelligence.
