What tf is Fan Shi Qi doing in this drama? So he's still acting while others didn't get a tiny chance if justice.Oh…
He’s going to be in another drama, The Ingenious One Season 2, I just saw a clip for it. Also, I looked at his up coming dramas, looks like he’s going to be lead in a few of them.
I’m celebrating with a glass of wine that the series is done….it was achingly awful…go ahead hate me and…
This drama had so much potential, but then the last 10 episodes made absolutely no sense to me. Too many twists and turns. Zeng Shunxi is one of my favorite actor, even he couldn’t save it. They pretty much gave him no power.
Though, the cinematography was gorgeous like all of this director’s dramas, would have been better if there was a better storyline.
I’m trying to get through episode 1, and too many characters being introduced at once that I can’t even keep up. I going to plow through the first few episodes to see if I can stick with it. It looks interesting, but I forgot half of the people that were introduced.
I just want a remake that follows the novel 100% especially their encounter. The best part of the novel.Bai Ping…
I think the drama is a lot better than the book. It was choppy and CBJ was cruel in the book. Basically SAed her. Actually, this was my review 8 years ago.
Have you gotten a chance to read the entire novel? I would love to know the scenes/chapters that didn't make it…
It’s a long book, if I reread it will probably only be the first half. Second half bore me to death and went downhill, but just my opinion. Do you have RedNote (Xiaohongshu)? There might be some on there even TikTok. Even X. On the youku app I saw some BTS.

Gosh I read it over a year ago. Lol 😆 The first half is all about their relationship and spicy parts, after the tournament she is angry with him for the entire second half of the book, so no spiciness, just him pinning for her. The kissing in the patio part was deleted also, if you look at my picture that’s the scene where he eats oysters and chives, so sexy, also deleted. I have some videos saved but can’t post them here or I have not found a way to.

The majority of the drama has been changed from book so it would be better to see it as an entire different plot with just the names and some of the scenes in the movie were in the book. Even some of the names were changed and some characters were combined in the drama. JBZ was a philanderer in the book, but he’s not in the drama only acts like one. Though in the book after he meets MY, he is in love and doesn’t “get” with anyone else. There’s more sexual tension in the book and they seemed to be going at it quite a lot, but after the tournament, the “activities” doesn’t happen anymore until close the end of the book.
I'm seeing so many BTS even kiss scene also they aren't in any episode😢
Lots of scenes were cut. I think I read where someone mentioned on Xiaohongshu, there were 10 kissing scenes, they read it off the script. The one I was looking forward to was HMH eating oysters and of course the pavilion one.

4.5 I would have given this a 5, but Chu BeiJie was very brutal towards Bai Ping Ting in the book when he held her captive. I watched the show before I read the book and saw lots of differences. I really liked the show much better, made CBJ more romantic and not a cruel killer as he is portrayed in the book. Since I read the translated version of the book, there were lots of mistakes and probably did not translate very well into English. Over all this book was great, though I thought the show was much better.
This is not deleted scenes, but where the two sit and watch their scenes together.
