The book was way hotter, that was probably the most interesting part of the book, after the tournament it went down hill and dragged on for me.

The majority of the drama has been changed from book so it would be better to see it as an entire different plot with just the names and some of the scenes in the movie were in the book. Even some of the names were changed and some characters were combined in the drama. JBZ was a philanderer in the book, but he’s not in the drama only acts like one. Though in the book after he meets MY, he is in love and doesn’t “get” with anyone else. There’s more sexual tension in the book and they seemed to be going at it quite a lot, but after the tournament, the “activities” doesn’t happen anymore until close the end of the book.

Sad, probably won’t get to see it.

Lots of scenes were cut. I think I read where someone mentioned on Xiaohongshu, there were 10 kissing scenes, they read it off the script. The one I was looking forward to was HMH eating oysters and of course the pavilion one.

There were more kissing scenes that were cut and not shown. On Xiaohongshu, ppl read the script and mentioned they had lots of kissing scenes. Lots of good scenes were also cut, it’s a shame because we probably won’t see it.

Blood River, no motivation to watch more episodes right now even though I love Gong Jun, I’m reeling from the end of LITC.

You should watch his other dramas, he is a great actor and brings every character to life. Also, LYX is excellent in My Journey to You. I found their story more compelling than the main leads. She’s even more cunning in MJTY.
