Not the ending i hope for, but it still good drama, i can ptredicted it from the begining lol ( the death of the…
Loved that they didn’t drag out those villains lol. Considering that our team already had their hands full, the addition of those villains would made me want to pull my hair out haha. But that’s another thing we can appreciate about this drama. Villains were given proper screen time and not dragged out to add more drama, everything happened seamlessly and naturally.
I think it is not just because it's not an "happy ending" that people are complaining about, at least for viewers…
Open and ambiguous synonymously mean the same thing. It is open ended because the ending is ambiguous and there are things that are not explained which are left for viewers to make their own interpretations. What you had described was just another way they could’ve executed an open ending with less room for viewers to fill in the blanks. And yes, like I’ve mentioned in my post, the ending was not executed properly and I am not now praising the writers for the ending we were given.
The purpose of my post was to remind people that despite the botched ending, it isn’t worth it to let it spoil the entirety of drama. It’s similar to taking a trip you had planned for and finding out that the location and experience had not been what you expected. But yet, throughout the journey you had been able to encounter many beautiful experiences and made countless of friends. Rather than focus on the bad, why not focus on the good especially in a case where the good outweighs the bad?
since i cant move on yet, let me tell the new watchers as to why you should start watching this drama; 1. A badass…
You literally listed everything I love about this drama. The fighting scenes were totally unmatched and I remember pumping my fists in the air because I couldn’t hold in my excitement of how badass they all were haha. Usually during fight scenes in dramas I get intrigued for a bit but then get tired because it gets kinda repetive lol. But here I’m actually rewatching scenes just because of how well they’re executed!
Something I want to say for those complaining about bad ending and wishing we got an actual scene of the main couple living happily. Although I am all for that and agree that the ending could’ve been executed better, we should be grateful that unlike other dramas, where the main couple only gets together toward the end and have a rushed happy ending, we were able to witness our couples journey all the way through. We got to see their growth and development together, witness so many of their happiest moments together. We’ve seen them go through life and death together. Even if the ending is open ended, at least we know for a fact that they are together whether alive or in the afterlife. Please don’t let an ending cloud your judgement and overall experience of such a wonderful journey.
a well written review! agreed with your thoughts. a sad ending doesn’t mean a bad ending. it’s a beautiful…
Thank you! I really wanted my review and words to encapsulate all of the love that I have for this drama but I still feel that it's not enough. It made me go through so many emotions 😭 It's unfortunate that people can't differentiate the difference between a bad vs. sad ending and rate a drama poorly just because of the ending whilst forgetting the entirety of such a beautiful piece of work. 🤧
Ep 32 really solidified Ren Ruyi as the ultimate assassin and fl. Even injured and dying she was still able to fend and wreak havoc against both the King’s best guards and the top Scarlet Guards. Even in her state, if she was aiming to kill she would’ve been able to take them all down! I love this drama so much as own us so many powerful female characters from main to supporting 🤧. Yang Ying making the choice to sacrifice herself and being able to quickly think on her feet just showcases how amazing her growth has been. And Meiniang being the greatest wingwoman!
Omg and Liudao Tao gang and their rescue mission was just so fucking amazing!! The shield spin which then comes back and reveals all the members in their assassin combat glory 🔥 the cinematography during these past two episodes was just shot so beautifully. The rain within the rescue mission, Ruyi vs. Deng Hui, Ruyi vs. LTG rooftop scene, everything was so brilliant!!
Recent episodes are so good and perfect build up for the shit that’s about to go down in the next episodes.
But can we talk about NYZ hiding his illness again?? The last time this happened, he almost died. And I think it’s hypocritical of him to expect Ruyi to share her burdens and communicate with him when he is hiding this from everyone. Like wtf, he should’ve learned from last time!
I'm really nervous for what's to come for our gang. Reading about your translations breaks my heart knowing how each of them will go. But I also want to commend the writer for making the reason for each of their deaths true to their character as well. I love that she had them each die on their own terms, QZ due to his loyalty, YL for his perseverance, and SL for his empathy. The foreshadowing has always been there. I really hope there is some miracle or something where we don't have to lose all of them. :,( And if we do at least for Ruyi and NZY to be able to have their HE.
Omg I had seen this clip too and had made a prediction about it. This is so much worse than what I had predicted 😭😭 My poor boy couldn’t bare to live anymore and willingly chose to die 💔 Thank you for giving me this update to prepare myself 🤧
Do you have any news on what happens to Ruyi and NYZ?
I might be completely off, but there really seems to be a traitor within Liudao Hall side. I just saw a clip of Qian Zhao with someone else who was kneeling on the ground. And in the clip you can see Qian Zhao pouring out name tags of deceased comrades onto the ground. And I thought about how this drama does everything for a reason. Qian Zhao out of all of them is the one who seems to place the most emphasis on brotherhood and it would make sense for him to be the one to confront this traitor. Hoping I’m wrong about this because if speculations of Qian Zhao dying is true I fear it might also be because of this traitor.
Omg. I don’t know if I’m ready for all this tragedy coming up 😭😭 It’s what I love but I can’t bears to watch them leave one by one 😭😭. Thank you for the translations! I appreciate it a lot!
