Not happy with fl being listed as a main character as her role in the novel is very minimal. Getting tired of…
OK, so they made her role in the drama more prominent compared to in the novel. You don't know if that's just because they emphasised her romance with the ML or because they gave her more things to do, though. In any case, why do you automatically assume you won't like her character?

On Maid's Revenge Dec 8, 2023
A drama with 10-minute episodes should not drag, but I'm on episode 5 of this one and it already does? So far it's been an endless cycle of the ML trying to sexually assault the FL for no reason and the FL being angry at him for killing her family, which he didn't do and she has no reason to assume. Why the hell is she living in a house full of people she hates instead of finding a job elsewhere? Why doesn't she stop and think for five seconds? She should ask herself some obvious questions about her family's fall from grace, like who ordered it and why, instead of getting beaten up by random NPCs every day if she wants to get revenge so bad.

I get that we're supposed to feel sorry for her, but she's such an incompetent little idiot that her constant victimization by the narrative ends up feeling like just punishment for her stupidity.

The ML needs to put a shirt on and chill the fuck out. I refuse to believe any female viewer who's had to deal with grown men in real life would find his abusive psycho antics attractive no matter how good-looking he is.

I can see why 13-year-olds in the first throes of horniness would love this drama, but objectively speaking, it's irredeemably bad.

Yeah.. ahhh we already have so many messed up plots like this.. We genuinely don't need more. On the other hand…
The next step on the path of personal growth should be to stop insulting people for no reason.

Okay, I seriously love the "I'm gonna sabotage this blind date I was forced to go on by looking mega hot, he's going to hate that!!!" trope. It's so dumb but so fun. We need more of it.

That’s a lot of anger, projection, hostility and incorrect word usage for one post, wow. I hope you felt better after you typed it all out. BTW it’s called internalized misogyny, not internal misogyny.

Wait, so neither Crystal Liu nor Jeremy Tsui is likely to be in this? Is the cast list completely unreliable?

Glad SD and JW finally found out he's the agent of love. It didn't even cross my mind to have JW see HN and the…
The legal right of widows to remarry is a tricky subject in Korean history because it depends on the exact period you're talking about. I *think* that for the majority of the Joseon era it was strictly speaking legal, but it was often limited to certain demographics and there were always sociocultural factors working against widows. According to Confucian morality, a widow is obligated to remain faithful to her dead husband and serve his family. This wasn't always the case in practice, but just like in medieval/early modern Europe, commoners had more freedom to pick their spouses than aristocrats, who were under stronger pressures to conform to arbitrary rules of proper conduct and to further their families' interests. That's why noblewomen were often not allowed to return to their birth families after being widowed. And there were certain moments in Korean history when widows were not allowed to remarry at all IIRC.

Of course, nobles and commoners weren't allowed to marry each other, so a nobleman proposing marriage to a commoner would actually be more unlikely than a noblewoman remarrying after her husband's death (which could happen in theory). A nobleman could have a commoner as a concubine, but not as an official wife—unless she was adopted into a noble family, I'm guessing.

wasn't tune in for love kind of more of a melodramatic romance?
A romcom is not just a romance without serial killers. Tune in for Love was pure melo. I don't remember it having any laugh out loud moments, and it certainly didn't have a comedic tone overall. Something like Too Beautiful to Lie is a romcom.

Ning Yuanzhou telling Ruyi that she lacks the common sense to raise a child on her own and what if her child wants to play with its father? and then saying he hasn't made any plans yet for after he completes his mission... He's so transparent lmao

Okay, seriously, how many bitches does Li Tongguang have and how? First it was a forbidden affair with an imperial concubine, then he almost killed his childhood friend who's a badass assassin and she became his maid, now he's being married off to a girlboss nomadic princess who "hates" him... if he gets the crossdressing princess of an enemy nation to like him too, I'll snap. Yu Shisan can only dream of having this guy's game.

I'm gonna go ahead and say this won't be his first "romcom" either because both the title and the premise are telling me it's not going to be particularly funny... but I don't care because it sounds interesting and I'm sure they'll have great on-screen chemistry! I love the casting and hope they both confirm it soon.

On A Good Day to Be a Dog Nov 30, 2023
Title A Good Day to Be a Dog Spoiler
OK, I'm sorry, but nothing in this drama makes any sense.

It doesn't make sense that "I'll tell everyone that you and your sister turn into dogs after you kiss someone" can serve as a credible threat; absolutely no one would believe that in the real world! If you released a video of a terrified woman being taunted and extorted by some guy in a hotel room, people would naturally think he was a nasty douchebag playing some sick game with her, not that the woman babbling about a curse was actually cursed. Even taking a video of the transformation wouldn't get people to believe you! They'd think it was manipulated.

So anyone trying to use that as a threat would just end up looking like a weirdo. "Why is this no-name blogger targeting a random schoolteacher and saying such ridiculous things about her?" She's not even a public figure! She could just sue him for harassment or whatever the South Korean equivalent is. No court would ever ask her to prove that she doesn't actually turn into a dog; it's an absurd claim in the real world, so the justice system would take her side automatically.

It also doesn't make sense that Haena would be *that* afraid of telling Seowon about the curse. It was obvious by the end of episode 2 that he's a nice guy and wouldn't call her gross or blackmail her with that information. But it's now day 90 out of 100 and she's still fretting about what he's going to think about her? Bitch, it doesn't matter at this point! If you turn into a dog permanently, you'll never get a chance with him or any other human! You could have had this sorted out 3 months ago.

It also doesn't make sense that her parents wouldn't step in at this point and just tell him on her behalf. If my child is facing the prospect of metamorphosing into a dog forever and I know I can prevent it from happening by telling the guy she likes (who likes her back!) that he needs to kiss her in dog form, fuck her privacy! I'll just tell him everything and let them sort out their relationship issues later.

It doesn't make sense that Haena and her sister talk about the curse like it's something super shameful and disgusting either. Like, sure, it's very scary because it can become permanent if it's not resolved within 100 days, but I don't think most people's default reaction to discovering magic is real and their partner has been cursed to transform into an animal at night would be to call them gross and scary, take humiliating videos of them and extort them for money. Sure, some people might react badly because humans are all different, but most would be pretty sympathetic? It's not automatically a shameful stigma. They didn't even do anything to deserve being cursed like this, so why would people judge *them* for something they have no control over? Again, some might, but the drama presents it as the default reaction and I don't think that's fair to most people.

There is a lot more nonsense in this drama, but I'll stop here. The characters' motivations and reactions just don't seem logical to me at all!

(And the worst part is that all of these nonsensical twists in the drama serve the narrative purpose of giving Haena things to be pointlessly afraid of so Seowon could show up and save her. It was the same with the three students who were smoking in front of her school; an experienced high-school teacher would know better than to tremble in fear of three teenagers no matter how unpleasant they were. The first thing you learn as a teacher is how to deflate teenage boys' egos and ignore or deflect their provocations! Yet she was about to piss herself because they refused to do what she told them, and needed Seowon to swoop in and beat them up for her, which by the way—I'm not impressed that the ML can beat up some schoolboys! That's not cool! It's lame that they were presented as a threat in the first place. Haena should have been able to shoot back a clever one-liner at them and call security and the delinquents' teachers by herself.)

All that said, I AM enjoying the story and don't really mind the lack of logic, but it's shocking to me that people aren't acknowledging it at all.

I'm on episode 4 and I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be getting out of this...? It's trauma porn basically. I don't care about how the hospital will gradually accept and embrace the protagonist! I just want everyone except for him to die in a fire, including the FL. They're all vile, hateful idiots.
