Qing Yi seems to have made money on his own, not to mention the fact that he took over the Huo fortune because he simply got to it first and hid it from the Murong family. Basically, he's rich on his own terms.

Given the above, why does he take so much crap from the Murong family, including physical beatings? He didn't even grow up within their fold and he doesn't need them in any aspect.

I'm currently watching Spring Over Phoenix Pond, where the very unfairly treated FL just turned around, stopped her nasty mother before she could hit her and returned a very satisfactory full palm slap on the face that sent the abusive POS tumbling away. Just for that it's worth watching. 😁

I don't even understand why he lets that despicable POS that gave birth to him beat him up every time she fancies it. One thing is respecting your elders, a very different thing is letting your elders beat you into a pulp. He should have turned around and slapped her,

Yes, moral censorship dressed as legal decency. Aside from this, I'm up to date with this drama (currently on ep 24) and IMO is absolutely worth watching, intimacy or no intimacy.

What it has to do with it is plenty of people on this forum and even on this sub-thread saying it would be ILLEGAL in China for a minor (that means under 18yo which is the legal age of adulthood in China) to kiss. This is a complete falsehood. The censors being a bunch of prudes is a different matter and not what my answer was aimed at.

I'm so sick of this idiocy about the FL being a minor. Legal adulthood and legal age of consent are two completely different legal concepts. In Mainland China the age of adulthood is 18 for both men and women, while the age of sexual consent is 14 (yes, 14) for both boys and girls and regardless of sexual orientation. Having full sex in real life at 17 is perfectly legal in China, let alone a kiss or a pretence of having sex while fully clothed in a drama.

No dark horse, it's been one of the most expected dramas. I've been waiting for it since starting of filming was announced.

I find this series wildly entertaining, I'm watching the eps as soon as they are released. Everything is alluring, the visuals, acting, plot, cinematography, everything is top notch. Only criticism is 2 eps a day is too little, I want to binge on the whole drama all at once. Can't wait for tomorrow. 😍
