They are indeed the same people. We see them together at many different ages, starting when IU’s character is 10 and PBG’s is 11. It’s only been four episodes, but we’ve already seen them at various ages up until they’re about 40/50. It isn’t a drama where they only show the present and a flashback to childhood. I can’t predict how they’ll end the show, but I actually appreciate a lack of predictability sometimes.
Without spoiling any plot, I’ll say he’s a dentist character from the drama and webtoon, “Strangers From Hell.” Lee Dong Wook portrayed him alongside the main character, who is played by Im Si Wan. I highly recommend it.
