that's why when it comes to political thrillers or dark psychological thrillers as a whole, I NEVER trust the…
Exactly. Here people are saying that you won't understand this drama because it's "deep". There's nothing deep about this drama that general audience won't understand.
The only good thing about this drama is min si and her outfits. She looks amazing. But the story is bit .... Nothing. I'm on 4th episode and not sure if I want to continue. I liked the plot about the police woman. Can anyone tell me if there's storyline about her ?
But the actual storyline is going nowhere. The way the executed the drama makes you think that something very interesting and mysterious going to happen in next scene but there's nothing like that. This is the type of kdrama that makes your hopes high but end up disappointing you. I believe they invested so much time in quality that they forget they need writers too lol.
I'm on 4th episode and The only good thing about this drama is so far minsi wardrobe lol. She's slaying in her outfits but other than than there's nothing. When you watch the first episode you expect something mysterious, deep and exciting by the music and the way it's directed like one of the most mysterious drama of all Time. The way each episode end with the loud ass music is as if the ending was badass. I think the kdrama nowadays lack story. They have all the budget and A+ actors but dog shit storyline..
I thought isak already died in first season but turned out it was all my imagination but the time he dies noa was bit younger or it's just that he doesn't look younger? Doesn't sunja even say that this happened 7 year ago but in book he was imprisoned for around 3 year.
Hansu, walking with a cane, approaches Sunja after the funeral. Sunja doesn’t want to hold anything against…
This happens around the end of book. It's time when sunja's grandson (Solomon) is around the age of 14. So it's when they're old and hansu is even older.
To novel readers, do SJ and KHS have a happy ending? Do they see each other, get back together, anything?
Hansu, walking with a cane, approaches Sunja after the funeral. Sunja doesn’t want to hold anything against Hansu anymore, but when he mentions that his wife has died and that he thought Sunja would marry him now, she flees in tears. She can’t understand why *** ( I thought it would be big spoiler) is dead and Hansu still lives. So he helped her alot but he's still an asshole. I don't think she ever had romantic feelings for him again after marrying isak but there's some kinda of emotional imprint by hansu that she can't erase.
A lot of people saying Asian Mom trope should just go....but the reality is it still exists in real life at the…
I actually thought the same before but later realised that it was actually very realistic scene. I don't know the writer's intention if they wanted to portray the toxic relationship between asian mother and daughter or they didn't give much of thought to it but regardless it was really realistic scene. I guess I was frustrated with the scene because I know how it feels.
this may offend some people here but i want to say thisjung so min is really good in the the comedic scenes and…
I think it can be because of different genre. Where they wanted the even crying scene to be bit funny. Or if can be possible that when you're doing a light hearted drama you don't really give a lot of thought in emotional scene.
I have watched the "because this is my first life" in this she was very natural. The scene of her walking bare foot through a dark and long tunnel was was really something that has been printed in my mind.
God the mother was freaking annoying in this episode. I think in a Normal situation after having this big fight with your mother, it'll take at least few days to forget and forgive. Half of the episode was her giving me stress. I think kdrama should tone down with the plot where the mother is living her failed dream thorough her daughter.
The last scene was the so hot when he saves her from falling without taking an hour of screentime to save her 😭.
Why people are saying fl is brat though? I don't remember a single thing that was annoying except the part where she gets the chance to explain and she says she's unemployed now.
just to clarify that definitely isn't abuse by her mother. she barely hit her. our poor ml got hit all the time.…
I think they just went overboard with the beating for more dramatic or funny scene. Like this kinda of scene ml leaving her at her home for her mother to beat would've been funny in a pure comedy drama. There's romance and emotional part attached to this drama so It's bit too much sometimes.
When my mom hits me, I think it’s funny because I'm full of muscles and my mom is weak. But of course, this…
I don't meant to say that hitting someone as a joke is abuse . It all depends on the intention of the parents. I think you will understand if you're asian if it's abuse or just normal. In this drama changing the funny music to little intense music would've changed the whole perspective.
Usually no matter how much favourite the cast is , I can't get into a kdrama if it the storyline is shit . But I really enjoyed all the cheesy plotline that I would never do for another kdrama. But it's too soon to say this.
I'm alright with all these cheesy childhood connections kdrama trop but normalising abusing your grown ass children is really uncomfortable to watch. I'm an asian myself and punishing your children when they're child is common. But beating your grown ass children is weird . I'm not saying that its unrealistic but it's unrealistic to show that the relationship between children and family will be normal after physical abusive.
"Something in the rain" was a melodrama and "love next door" is rom-com. I guess this is the reason haein didn't save the girl properly 🥲. I remember the scene in "strong woman do bong soo" where bong soon cries because of her mother's beating and tell that it hurts even though she has superpower. So I don't think it's impossible to show that it hurts even in rom-com genre.
Unrelated to drama but I just watched the trailer and why tf it's so dark. Why do 8 episode thriller series always has to be so dark to the point you can't see anything other than the the main character. Sometimes you can't even see them properly.
And btw we have similar taste in kdrama .
