I rate dramas based on: 1) whether the drama holds my interest to the very end of the last episode. 2) if the writing is solid throughout till the end, 3) if the drama avoids use of cheap plot devices to carry it, 4) sound production - good dramas with music louder than actors voices ruins it for me. Yes I want to see good acting and attractive actors, (I'm shallow I guess) but that's not enough to make a drama good if the writing and production is uneven or unreliable. These elements are more important to me than whether the drama has romance or is a procedural or fantasy or historical. However fantasy appeals to me more because it can give you something new, I get tired of same old same old.
so in Ep 1 or 2, Si Tu Feng is wearing a t-shirt that has printed in English on the back the phrase "NO THAAD". Plus an illustration of what it is. THAAD is the anti missile system the US set up in South Korea (even though most of SK opposed) which is basically pointed towards China. This was agreed to by the former President Park who is now in prison for fraud.
at first this drama was up and down for me, but ultimately I loved it. I loved the first 6-8 eps but later I was put off by the female character - the "Emblem Protector". I didn't like her. Well turns out I wasn't supposed to like her, all of the characters including hers were written a bit differently then what you may have expected them to be. She was a negative type. But I fast forwarded her part and got so hooked on this drama. There was a lot to like and characters to love, like the Fire Tiger, or the Ferret, or Lin Dong's sister, the family love. -----And the 40th episode was truly amazing. Lin Dong exceeded all expectations. I love this and now on Season 2, wish there would be more. It was great seeing Yang Yang in this type of drama.
Of all the reviews of Martial Universe Season 1, your's matches how I feel. I wonder if some of the other more negative reviewers actually finished the drama. I loved how it started out and the first 6-8 eps were great. What was off putting was the female character, the "Emblem protector". I didn't like her. Well, she was written that way on purpose I think. She dug in her heels a lot and didn't like or trust Lin Dong, and seemed in it for the wrong reason rather than what she was supposed to be doing, protecting Lin Dong. She screwed up a lot too. So when she got a lot of air time I just fast forwarded a bit, and BAM. The drama grew on me like crazy. I also didn't see Lin Dong's infatuation with her, and later it all became clear, didn't it? ( I won't spoil it for anyone.) The 40th episode was WOW, It wrung some tears out of me. And made me so excited for Season 2. I'm started on that and at this time the English subs can't come fast enough. I really love this drama. Would like it go keep going and going. On and it was nice to see Yang Yang in this type of role.
I agree with you. The biggest problem I have is that he's 14. I'd feel the same if the genders were reverse. In…
↑ I liked Goblin thought that Kim Go Eun looked so much younger than Gong Yoo. Turns out in real life he's 39 and she's 27. So they made her look even younger.
It makes me "uncomfortable" that I didn't get to finish this before Drama Fever went boom. Is anyone subbing the remainder of the episodes? Are the only eps out there the ones that ripped subs from DF? If so we might not get to finish it.
I miss Phillip Lee. He was last in the kdrama "Faith" but most memorable in "Secret Garden". His eye was injured in "Faith". I couldn't find where he had returned to acting. The drama Faith seemed to be jinxed .
Important! Hessa is right you can go to the "Wayback Machine" and find DF's site and pages archived. But do it…
yes they can insert robot.txt that block access to everything even the Wayback Machine. Even though the appearance is wonky it is a way to recapture the content while you can. I would be surprised if they don't block access once they think about it.
Viki just posted this on Twitter: https://twitter.com/VikiComms/status/1053048760371040257And here the new article:…
C-dramas are my favorite because they have alot of fantasy style dramas. I guess with thousands of years of history they have lots of material to work with.
It seems On Demand Korea will try to fill the void by increasing their number of subtitles. I just saw an add…
I checked out the content for English subs and right now it's mostly older dramas that I watched years ago. Do you have more information for if/when the newer dramas (like ones on air but were streaming at DF) will be available? The promo link is basically offering 2 extra months for paid subscription. The monthly subscription fee is $7.99
I thought she was fine towards Helian Zheng, she's just very blunt about her refusal. She's pretty blunt in general.…
yeh, I really liked Helian Zheng and his death didn't fit the way he'd been before. Darn it. I'm still working up the nerve to watch the last episode. The last few eps have been disappointing. :( The editing perhaps... I really liked Feng Zhiwei's character for most of the drama.

I never got to finish Princess Jieyou. It was subbed half way then plunk.

So these sites won't be able to get subs for the dramas that only DF was running.
