So a lot of people are saying that they can't stand when funny and serious mix. i am not sure why. i think these…
When I saw the second episode for the first time it felt so hard to detach myself from the idea that "Gawin is playing as Tong and Joss is playing as Mark" so much so that I cringed while watching them interact with one another. Dispite of that I had a pretty good laugh.
Later on, I watched the episode again. >It felt magical<. I was able to immerse in the actual characters (not in the actors acting them out). The characters' emotions and actions felt so genuine in a sense that we can only understand them by putting ourselves in their position (that's why people find it difficult to understand Tong's whole personality when IRL we don't encounter many people like him). By watching a second time I could understand the intentions of the characters in such a sensitive way that I felt so delighted over some specific scenes that just overflew emotions, sensations, literally "human" - precisely what Mark is on his way to be again. I found myself repeating endlessly the scene to not let go of that sensation in my stomach and supressed tears that had no intention to flow.
I love how the series explore the comedic side. Tong as naive as ever did what any naive person would do and this is totally understandable. Also I have to point that we won't find no sense in comparing this series to real life, for obvious reasons not needed no mention. This is supposed to be appreciated with an open mind and heart, only this way we can see the beauty of this piece.
For someone who read the novel, the series will get that DRAMA over the episodes. Prepare your tissues.
Forget about Markβs abs for a second (I know, hard to do), because this episode gave us something even better:…
I love your comment but Tong's powers over a single tear drop doesn't have that deep of an explanation. Consider this example: every single part of a fruit has vitamins even the ones that we discard. It is said that the peel of a fruit has more vitamins than the pulp. Tong's blood is the peel and the rest is the pulp.
I'm digging the vampire lore here. The show uses the common tropes, but all with modern little twists that make…
Nakan's radom english got me by surprise. It got to a point I found it to much... but his acting is great! I'm looking forward to see more of him and Neo β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ
I was going to critique this drama but Joss came onscreen and I forgot everything else. The man is beautiful my…
Now that you mention... in this series vampires actually lack a little bit of "the presence" given of on the traditional series we've seen. Maybe the intention is to "blend" them with humans and make it seem to the audience that vampires can be anywhere without beign recognised wich in this universe is precisely what happens. There's something that other series did to portrait this "vampire aura": vampires most of the time appeared in pack. They were always in a group of 3+ and had this melancholic, mysterious aura. Also I can understand why vampires lack this sovereignty, this series exalts the qualities of being human - the capability to feel emotions, to which vampires are unable to. Mark starts to experience these, long ago felt, emotions, he starts to feel, smeel, taste again -in this universe these sensations are exclusive to humans. Then Marks starts to crave for more....
Personally, if we are comparing this series to Twilight, I think the real Bella is Mark, aside from the protective figure he is. Why? Bella falls in love with Edward, a vampire, which leads her to want to became one as she could live her love with him forever in the same sense Joss becomes attached to Tong the one who can make him break it through the curse of being an emotionless monster, so much so, Mark ends up becoming more human the more he gets closer to Tong.
Now, the fangs and the eyes I don't have arguments to defend that. π
I love the reflection you gave in this comment cause it doesn't fall to the superficiality of the actors' appearances. I like how sensitive you were by poetically describbing the characters' (Mark and Tong) personality highlighting their feelings and emotions to wich their actions play a huge role. Tong isn't like any other 20 year old young man, he is easily dazzled by anything that's news to him, also he didn't develop a normal sense to what is dangerous or not, not mentioning that for anybody it is hard to believe that vampires exist. But because he never experienced danger, in his life, (even those minor cases, like scratches, cuts, bruises etc) he thinks he can take care of himself, unconsciously neglecting that he was the one who have always been taken care of by others - this is Tong's reality to which he is used to, he finds it normal, so normal that he isn't aware of it and doesn't try to break from it.
Mark, before tasting the golden blood was a mere servent with no personal needs and desires. Most probably he discovered this condition, that his life had no meaning, after becoming human again since vampires have no feelings. Mark is the character that intrigues me the most because he'll face great dilemas: He has to protect Tong but he's a threat to him as well as Mark is a threat to Tong; Is he in love with Tong or is he craving for the goolden blood? How will he succeed on the mission that Thara trusted him? Mark now has to protect Tong even closer than ever, but how he'll manage do it successfully knowing that only a drop of Tong's Blood and more (*spolier* omitted) makes he lose control over himself and over the fellings that he even as a human, long time ago, never experienced. Was the goolden blood who got Mark is this addiction to Tong or was it love?
What I love the most about some BLs is the way they develop the character emotionally. I want to be able to feel what they are felling and to be as emotionally stimulated as I can possibly be. I love to testify the one character blossoming repressed feelings and untamed desires and how those impact onto himself and their love interest. I want to be able to fall in love with the character.
I'm just loving this series and loving the people that can see through the obvious β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ
Why is tong acting like that? I highly doubt that 20 year olds speak and act that way...
He's not like any other 20 year old yong man. Imagine yourself with no friends, you can't hang out, you can't do and experience things on your own, you have people constantly telling what you shouldn't do and plus most of the time you have to stay at home and the only people you interact with are kids... he never had a childhood. Remember about Michael Jackson
I'll have to admit that, in this episode, the running and fast movements effects from vampires are great this time! Amazing episode! β€οΈβ€οΈ Mark is becoming more human over time.
Next week Mark and Tong will have their first kiss! I'm so looking forward to it!π₯°β€οΈ

I didn't read from this source but one user said that this is pretty accurate.
Enjoy your reading! π
