We don't know if Kla is "actually" dead yet! Thara just might turn him into a vampire like she did for Mark. Hmmm?
In MGB special episode you'll notice that Nakan is holding flowers. And in this series' intro both Tong and Mark are dressed in black and Mark is consoling Tong who's crying. I can also say that based on the novel Tonkla actually died but you can take your own conclusions.
I'm shook, I actually can't remember if a gmm bl in the past EVER killed off a character from the main friend…
In 'Nerver Let Me Go' Palm's mum died in front of him. But she wasn't close with him either way so INS if it counts. - I love when a series take death seriously, unlike Pit Babe S2 π
Uh~! I love how this series is finally giving us the bitter sauce! Those sweet moments were savoury but I was longing for the contrast of the flavours and textures to this meal...
Let the real game commence and the villains strip off their sheep's clothing π
Here lies Tonkla.Part-time hot dog mascot.Full-time big brother.Surprise emotional backbone of My Golden Blood. He…
Was I the only one laughing my ass of with this scene π?
That was so comedic melodrama coded like having a steel rod pierced to the chest is like having stabbing pain in the chest cause of iron deficiency. That must hurt bad but instead Tonkla's soul was so up there he couldn't feel anything just to smile and wave to say the last goodbyes.
Like crazy?I'm over here typing from a psychiatric hospital. They take the phones from patients, but I found I…
Why are they serving us michelin food in this restaurant (GMMTV)πππ?!!! I didn't sign up for this!!! It feels like I'll have a long and pricey bill to pay after the end of this series! I'm already in, I can't sneak my way out πππ!
At least, give something to complain to the chef, cause I found noneπππ!!!
I just wanted to know is it only me who is repeating their ncs on loop like crazy? π
Like crazy? I'm over here typing from a psychiatric hospital. They take the phones from patients, but I found I way to get mine back. No one can prevent me from watching the next ep. of MGB!
For two centuries Mark didn't live surrounded by humans. He've learnt about human interactions over the books…
It might look like that there's plot holes but let me tell you everything will come together in the end. The novel didn't have much drama and there were things that happened without no further explanation so here the series do actually develop those points. Nothing that happened or isn't showing much development is by chance. This series has a slow burn on purpose.
so Mark lived for a long time but he doesn't know if anniversaries are important ? and he doesn't know how to…
For two centuries Mark didn't live surrounded by humans. He've learnt about human interactions over the books he've read but still couldn't connect nor understand it in a deeper way since he wasn't driven by feelings nor emotions unlike humans whose whole life experiences and memories are fundamentally rooted by those. Now that Mark is "awaken" he can finally associate interactions, actions and words to feelings and emotions and because of this he'll need to educate/re-educate himself. He started from zero since the day he began to be aware of his sense of self.
Sincerely, I hope you continue to watch it and appreciate this show cause it has so many layers and it's not supposed to be seen in a superficial way, if so you'll lose many things.
So, your friend's been telling you that your "new professor" who happens to randomly pop up everywhere you go,…
I 99.99% agree with you! And this is something so obvious that the audience should be aware of. Neither Mark nor Tong is to blame for Tonkla's irrational behaviour. However we should try to understand all the characters' motivations and this doesn't mean to actually agree with them. Let's dress up the character: Tonkla spent his whole life protecting Tong, now Mark is taking that role he thought he had since forever. Tonkla grew up convinced he should be Tong's protector and now that that burden has been stripped off of him. What should he do next? I see this as someone being replaced and left behind in a work space, just an exemple (from Tonkla's POV).
Nakan took advantage of Tonkla's fragility to MANIPULATE him by provoking his selfish sense to surface. Even feeling like he was left behind Tonkla still loves Tong however Tonkla felt like Tong wasn't considerate of it. When humans are driven by feelings and emotions this can become their weakness: Nakan pointed this out on his 'Trojan Horse' lecture.
And c'mon! Where would be the fun of the plot if Tonkla acted rationally? This isn't real life, instead a caricatured depiction of reality where humans are driven by feelings and emotions hence their irrational actions. Unlike Nakan.
I get you! I sometimes find some >scenes< immersion breaking, but this mostly happened in the first episodes. The plot is good to me but there were lines that could just be excused.
21 year old to Thailand is the same as 18 year old for some western countries so it wouldn't make sense to change a significant and symbolic cannon just for the sake of the actor's looks. Various actors auditioned for Tong's role but Gawin was the most suitable. In the end of the day what really matters to GMMTV is the pairing chemistry. The plot and writing are mere details.
I think Tonkla acted as like any other frustrated loyal friend towards the feeling of rejection. It's not like he joined the "dark side", instead he took that hot headed time to prioritise his feelings. This isn't a simple matter over a shirt but a whole life commitment to the other. Tonkla's life history is based on "give ins" for Tong - "Tong comes first then comes me". Tonkla isn't by any means "desperate" for attention, he deeply felt like he was left behind. Imagine a scenario where two orphan brothers live together and the older brother sacrifices himself to take care of his younger to then grow up and turn his back on him. Isn't the older brother entitled to feel hurt and call the other out? Isn't he entitled to be selfish for once? Personally, the only reason for these characters acting so irrationally in this universe is to portrait a caricatured reality to which the human world revolves around - feelings and emotions. Nakan is the exact opposite, he doesn't rush his plans as he's not under any human-like stress. He's cold and knows how to wait unlike humans. This is when most villans fail but many psychopaths succeed. Not every villan is a psychopath but every psychopath is a villan...
Also, Nakan tasted the golden blood, right? So can we supposed that he "woke-up" too? If so, his whole motivations can indeed be human-like. Vampires only follow orders they're like walking soulless zombies but "woken-up" ones have their own sense of self.
*Squeels* FINALLY ALL THE THINGS!!! I am absolutely SAT for Mond's villain era here! This episode finally put…
The same age miss casting goes on to western shows ("Euphoria", "Sex Education", "Outer Banks"...) So I don't think that's a big issue here. To me those actors don't pass by as teenagers considering their looks, but in the end of the day it's about (a convincing) performance and they deliver it. The same goes for Gawin.

Understanding Tonkla doesn't mean we agree with him! This is so obvious. I do capture both Tonkla's and Mark and Tong's side.

Nobody cares about Tonkla, not even the makeup artists π₯².
