I think the reason the original was so memorable for me was them dedicating a majority of the show to show Sang Zhi slowly falling in love with Duan jiaxu, completely alone in her feelings and one-sided. It's what sets it apart from all the other dramas with similar themes that start with the "re-meet" without ever showing how it all began in the first place...it's Sang Zhi's journey from childhood to adulthood and how Duan Jiaxu became such a visceral presence in her life through it all.

This short drama on the other hand begins with them meeting as adults and falls into the typical childhood-lovers-reuinte trope which doesn't offer anything new imo.

Can anyone who has seen the Korean version let me know how similar it is in plot and vibe? I personally didn't like Marry My Husband but Takeru Satoh is in this and he's one of my favs so I need to know before I watch it xD

It's repetitive and lazy. Even chatgpt can come up with better titles. Like off the top of my head, this one can be called Idol Traveler or even Idle Traveler (a play on words)...the Korean titles are probably better 9/10 times. For example, Head over Heels's Korean title sounded more appealing to me than the generic English title. Obviously these r just subjective opinions at the end of the day.

Have you seen him in The Story of Pearl Girl? He's pretty much just as you described in it for the most part.

Will never understand why Liu Yuning gets all the hate for his appearance. When he's on screen it's hard to look at anyone else lol...so much screen presence and aura in one frame :")) felt the same about Xin Yun Lai, the actor from The Glory. Netizens need to get their eyes checked :3

The story itself is good and inspiring but I'm struggling to hold interest beyond 16 eps with the lack of chemistry between the leads...because I love a good slow burn but the 2 lead actors just aren't giving anything in that department to feel any "burn"...might just be a me problem tho
