Grandpa watches dramas and thinks rich people are usually portrayed badly so I doubt it's a money thing.I guess he just wants his grandson to go back to his ex girlfriend because he really liked her...until he finds out they are the same woman :P

I haven't watched kdramas for a while,not sure why but it just happened (also the red sleeve cuff hit me harder than expected). This will probably be my return drama since the comments are so positive.

If he loved her so much,he wouldn't have pressure her into being his concubine.In the end he had been selfish,like most people of course,and I do believe that even a small part in her resented him for that while another cared for him both as a husband and a king.The reality is that we will never know historically if she truly loved him or whether she just could no longer refuse the king.I think that's what they tried to express here.

I love this drama but I don't like how we are getting everything condensed in the last episodes.We either needed more episodes or a different pacing.I understand that showing how they fell in love or how Deok Im has supported Yi San is very important,especially for building their chemistry,but to me their married life is equally important.I wonder how they have changed the ending with the extra episode...

She is not turning down Yi San,she is turning down the life of a royal concubine.And honestly who can blame her?Have you watched Ruyi's royal love in the Palace?It is a Chinese drama that shows the sad truth about imperial wives,it is over dramatic of course and most facts didn't happen like this but the main point is there.Though the emperor there was selfish and Yi San is pretty decent,royal concubines still get to share their husband,crave for his attention,do politics and often dirty stuff to secure their children over other princes and princesses,always follow the dowager's or the main queen's wishes,follow strict protocols etc.Of course you may already know all this but I felt the need to point out that it's probably a miserable life and the king's love is not enough to save you.

The kings in period dramas are almost always insane,immature,bipolar,illogical and constantly find something to blame others of treason...one would wonder how such people could run a nation.

Tbh I am more than ready for Deok Im's death in the end.Yes,they are a great couple and in an another universe I'd love to see them happy together but her death will just tie in with the beginning so beautifully.It begun with a beloved royal concubine's death and it will close this way.I don't want them to change it just because the ratings are going well.However,I can't seem to understand how they will fit the entire story in 7 episodes.

I couldn't agree more.After all,he is a man of his times and I believe this scene is to also remind us of that.I disagree that this was presented as something hot and romantic because it's an Asian drama,she was clearly scared.

This is one of the dramas I wish was longer.The story will probably end with her becoming his concubine but I would love to see her living her life as one.

Because this is Joseon and men still think they own women who basically exist for their pleasure and the creation of children.

Honesty I don't understand how this has 20 episodes and the Red Sleeve Cuff has only 16.Should be reversed,I don't see how we can keep watching another 4 episodes of a woman pretending to be a man.

The Queen is acting strange for her position but she is very young.I find the ML equally cringy.
