Just finished watching the drama. It's really good ππ». I like the way their story develops. The main couple actually have chemistry and also they look more like normal people. They don't overdo it. I have some reservations about this drama because of the unexpected pairing. I actually π even feel guilty because of it, because it is EXACTLY why Hao Liang rejects Gu Jiuli in the drama. Even Hao Liang said, their appearance don't really match as she actually looks too young like a kid. And the ending π it's sad for me because the drama is too good, I want more of it. But I can also accept this ending. Honestly I have gotten used to have the leads getting married so honestly that abrupt ending took me off guard π. Everyone's character is consistent and no boring misunderstanding. The ending I think in some way represents the real life. By the end, Hao Liang is 21 years old and Gu Jiuli 31 years old. Gu Jiuli is quite stable in his life but Hao Liang isn't.
Honestly there's one character, C , his acting is kinda overboard even if he's supposed to be only 23 years old. His character is a genius who got into university at 15 and got double masters by 19. He just feels too childish, I mean the way he act. I've known someone in real life who got into university at 16, we can see he's young but not that childish though. So I don't know why his character acts like that.
But overall, I think the drama is really good. Would rewatch it again some other time.
Just finished the drama 2 days ago, and I need to rant. So bear with me lol.
I love most of the scenes and the way they change the drama makes more sense for modern viewers, so it's actually a blessing they change some parts from the novel. BUT the essence is the same LIKE EXACTLY THE SAME. The way Wei Shao cares for Manman and takes care of her is still there. I didn't like the part where they show Wei Shao's army is losing but I realise that kind of scenes is more relatable because we can never expect what will happen. Like Manman said, we can never expect what will happen in the future. I can accept some changes like the big fight they have because it was done so well. The director really change up the story.
From what I remember Wei Shao in the novel is so formidable that the only real betrayal and hurt he felt comes from Manman. Also, I agree with the comments that said Zhang Pu and the uncle's death in the drama is not satisfying. In the novel, the uncle actually did love the Qiao family and got so angry at Zhang Pu for making his brother blind. Zhang Pu bring the uncle's head to Wei Shao to ask him to spare his life and that's when he tells Wei Shao about Manman telling the Qiao family to strengthen their army. Zhang Pu added the story by saying it's to guard against Wei Shao, though in reality its just so that they don't rely on other nations in the future. After Manman comes to Wei Shao to tell the truth, they had the big fight, and Wei Shao got so angry that he cut off Zhang Pu's head directly in front of Manman.
I also have that gut feeling when they send Wei Liang alone. In the novel, Wei Liang comes with an army and he was the only survivor.
Overall, I really recommend this to people who wants to watch the hardcore enemy to lovers trope. Will rewatch it again next week. >.<
It hurt Manman so much that Wei Shao got hurt because of her.The tunnel was her leverage against her husband,…
Love your comments >.< So true, and we really can't blame her. I'm pretty sure even Manman did not expect the war to happen as Wei Shao is formidable on his own.
In the ending credits,ml is shown angry at fl and threw something. Can someone give me spoiler for this scene…
There is this one scene at the end where Wei Shao found out about Manman's plan to guard Yanzhou against Wei Shao. But I'm not sure if that'll still be the same because in the drama Wei Shao knows about Boya early on and even said to Manman she can be honest with him if she wants him to help her sister. Besides that, the other one I can think of is when he found out about Wei Yan's drawing.
I just finished reading the novel and although the drama omit a lot of the bed scenes, the essence is still there. The intimacy and the care that Wei Shao gives to Manman is the same as in the novel. Also, I think Zhang Pu will still be the bad guy judging from the new episodes. Really can't wait
I think the part of her being depressed is stated. SY said that she had insomnia and might even jump off from…
I agree that the drama didn't show as much like in the novel about Xu Qin's background. I only read novel after 20 eps, and honestly for me when watching the first 20 eps without any background knowledge about the characters, I can still see how depressed she is... Especially the drunk scene in ep 10
I actually cried in episode 9 ππ P Man's acting is so good, I really feel his sadness π’ Anyway, really can't wait for next week π hoping for the last 3 episodes to consistently be more than 1 hour, there are so many sweet scenes in the novel after they've confirmed their feelings
Just finished watching this series and my stomach hurts from laughing too hardπ€£. I think so far, this is one of the Thai bl series that made my stomach hurt from laughing, the other one is Kinnporsche. Their acting is great too, really fits the comedic theme in this series. My favorite would be Meen πhe's so cute, watching Deuan falls for him makes me fall for him too. I didn't really like ep 8 and ep 9 because they really did Mork's character dirty, and they didn't address it right which makes me really mad at the writer. But I still recommend everyone to watch this though π

I remember watching eps 10, Xu Qin's cries broke my heart, it was at that time too that she said she doesn't feel like living anymore.

Btw, does anyone have the novel translation?
Anyways, does anyone has the novel? I've been looking for it for so long π’π’
